Miyun County Detention Center in Beijing Cruelly Tortured Falun Dafa Practitioners

[Minghui] Since the beginning of the illegal crackdown against Falun Dafa in July 1999, the Miyun County Detention Center has continuously tortured Falun Dafa practitioners detained there. In November 1999, one female practitioner was taken out of her cell and had cuffs (her hands were cuffed behind her back) and shackles put on by the guards because she practiced Falun Gong exercises in her cell. Then the guards ordered several prisoners to take turns forcibly pulling her along the ground for four hours. The skin on her ankles was badly injured and a 4-inch wound developed. Her ankles were hurt so badly that flesh and blood were mixed together and her ankles kept bleeding.

Treatment of practitioners from other cities or towns by the detention center was even crueler. After they were detained, practitioners from other cities or towns, generally did not give out their names and home addresses. The guards used this as an excuse to violently beat up practitioners. Last winter a female practitioner in her 60's from outside Beijing was cuffed and shackled, and her shackles were put on with the chain twisted up so that she could not take big steps. What's worse, the guards even ordered several prisoners to use sticks to force her to walk faster. If she could not walk fast, the prisoners would hit her over the head with the sticks. The elderly lady was beaten so badly that she became dizzy and could not stand up any more. She fell down on the ground and lost consciousness. Her head was injured due to her continuous falling down and her face was covered with blood. The guards took her to a clinic for emergency treatment, and lied [in order to cover their crimes] by saying that she had struck her head against the wall because she wanted to commit suicide. As for some young practitioners, besides having cuffs and shackles put on, their feet were also fastened to boards so that they could not walk. The guards ordered several prisoners to drag them to force them to walk in circles. Some practitioners were forced to lie flat on boards and then their bodies were tied to the boards at their waist with metal rings. The guards called this torture "carrying a big board on the back."

This torture sometimes lasted for hours and even days on end, with the longest time being 10 days. This torture did not stop even when the practitioners had to pass stool or urine. They had to do all this on the boards. Soaked in feces and urine for a long time and rubbing against the boards made the inflammations on their bodies fester; and they had pus and blood dripping. One time, several dozen practitioners from other cities or towns were all tortured this way at the Miyun County Detention Center.

Once, three practitioners were violently beaten by a vicious guard whose last name was Li, just because they practiced the Falun Gong exercises. The guard Li first poured cold water onto the practitioners' heads, and then started to beat their heads and backs with a leather strap. One of the practitioners was beaten so badly that he could not breathe and almost lost consciousness. After all of these tortures, the guard started to use shoes to slap practitioners' faces. The cruelty and suffering was beyond description. Not to mention that these beaten practitioners had been on a hunger strike for 16 days. This guard acted this way for 40 minutes and stopped when he felt tired. After the beating, he tied the practitioners' bodies to the boards and once more beat the face of one of the practitioners with the sole of a shoe. After this, he had two buckets of ice cold water prepared and poured the water onto their heads and bodies during the severe cold of winter. The practitioners were almost frozen to death. The guard tortured the practitioners this way from 3 am to 7 pm, the time when he needed to go home. The guard in the next shift released the practitioners from the torture. The faces of the practitioners were badly swollen and became dark purple. The marks from the shoe beating can be seen even today (when this document was prepared).

On January 6, as the practitioners practiced exercises in the cell, the guards rushed in and pulled the practitioners out of the cell by holding their hair. Some practitioners' hair was pulled out. Every practitioner was badly beaten up. One elderly lady about 60 years old was pushed down onto the snow-covered ground. Her mouth was then stuffed with her socks. One female guard with the last name Wang acted in collusion with the head of the detention center with the last name Li. They planned and directed this torture. They also called in armed police and wanted them to beat practitioners to death. Fortunately some of the armed policemen were good-hearted and did not participate. They left when they saw the cruelty of the torture.

Some guards in the detention center were extremely sinister and ruthless. To conquer Dafa practitioners, they resorted to many malicious ways of torture that normal people could not imagine. They shackled three practitioners together. If one moved, all three would fall down. Once, an elderly lady was put in the middle position; when others moved, she fell down and lost consciousness.

In the summer of 2000, some practitioners were caught and put into the detention center because they practiced Falun Gong exercises along a river that was a little far from their homes. They started a hunger strike because of the illegal detainment. As a result, the guards whipped each female practitioner 60 times and each male practitioner 100 times with leather belts. The female guard with the last name Wang took off an elderly lady's pants and started to whip her buttocks with a leather belt 52 times. They did not stop until the elderly lady almost lost her breath. As the condition of the elderly lady was not good, they became afraid and took her to the county hospital to check her condition. The elderly lady's heartbeat was as fast as 130 times per minute. The next day when they released the elderly lady, they made her promise to keep silent; otherwise they would detain her again.

Crimes, like the above-mentioned cases, committed by the guards of the Miyun County Detention Center are countless. What are mentioned are just a small part of their crimes. The brutality of the guards against Dafa practitioners is unforgivable. Their crimes will not be tolerated by the heavenly principles. There is an everlasting principle that the good will be rewarded with good and the evil with evil. The evil persons must repay their crimes when the time to pay back comes. Their lives will not come to a good end.
