Liang Yuemin used to work for the police system but she was dismissed from work because she practiced Dafa. Later she found another job at Haiyang Transportation School, but was fired again for the same reason. This year, after appealing to the government, Liang was taken away from her home by the Yantai police, and her home was ransacked by the police. Liang is now in a labor education camp.
Liang Hongling used to be an employee at the National Tax Office in Haiyang. Since early 1999, Hongling was not allowed to work due to practicing Dafa. Later Hongling was fired. Because of appealing to the government in October, Hongling was sent to a labor education camp.
Wang Chunrong was sent to a labor education camp because she went to Beijing to appeal.
Yu Zhenfang used to be an employee at the Farmer Machinery Maintenance Station in Haiyang. Yu was fired for not giving up practicing Dafa. After going to appeal in October, Yu was taken away by the police. During the interrogation, Yu was kicked and grabbed by the hair by a drunken police officer named Liu XX. Yu is now in a labor education camp.
Sun Shaobo, a former employee in Haiyang division of the China Industry and Business Bank, was sent to a labor education camp because of doing exercises in a park in February.
Ji Xiuyuan, the wife of Sun Shaobo, was also a former employee in Haiyang division of the China Industry and Business Bank. Sun was sent to a labor education camp because she went to Beijing to appeal in October. Her eleven-year-old son now is left taken care of by nobody.
Li Zhiying was arrested at home without cause and later was sent to a labor education camp.
Sui Weili was fired for practicing Dafa and later was sent to a labor education camp.
Yang Zhifeng was arrested at home without cause and later was sent to a labor education camp.
Yang Wenhua was sent to a labor education camp because of going to Beijing to appeal.
Cui Chunai was fired for appealing and later was sent to a labor education camp.
Wang Yuzhu used to be a police officer in Haiyang. On January 1, 2000 (lunar calendar), Wang was arrested for doing exercises outdoors, and later was sent to a labor education camp. Wang's wife was fired for practicing Dafa, and she has no financial sources now.
Lu ziguang, a peasant in Haiyang, was arrested at home for no reason and later was sent to a labor education camp.
Li Xiufen used to work in Haiyang, and later lived in Yantai after retirement. Because of going to appeal in October, Li was sent to a labor education camp.
In addition to practitioners mentioned above, there are about 20 practitioners being detained for appealing. They were not released after the detention period ended. Instead, they were sent to a "Transformation Class" in Haiyang Birth Control Committee. They have been detained for over 50 days. One has to pay RMB 2,000 (about $240, roughly 5 months' income of an average worker in China) in order to get released. Who is making money on the Falun Gong issue?
