[Wellington, New Zealand] New Zealand Dafa practitioners went to the capitol---Wellington to promote the Fa (Hongfa) again from November 27 to November 30. About 30 practitioners divided into three groups to go to Wellington.
November 28
It was raining when practitioners arrived in Wellington November 28 and strong sea wind often whizzed past. Despite this, practitioners raised the banners in the rain. These banners reading "China Stop Persecuting Falun Gong", "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance", "Falun Dafa" etc. were very eye-catching when they were flapping in the wind and rain.
Several practitioners were distributing material and most of them were practicing to the music in the rain. It was time for the parliament to recess. Many congressmen came out of the parliament building and were very interested in watching our practice. There were often several congressmen who came over and inquired. Practitioners answered their questions patiently, made clear the truth of Falun Gong and told them the facts that Falun Gong practitioners in China were being persecuting. Some congressmen took some Dafa material on their own initiative.
After a Maori female staff member listened to a brief introduction by practitioners, she said she heard of Falun Gong from the BBC news. However, she said it was hard to find a place where she could learn. At this time, she was glad to see us and wanted to learn.
November 29
On the morning of November 29, all of us went to the railway station and places near the hotel and distributed Dafa materials. When we were at the parliament building, the weather began to change. The wind was very strong and the rain came in a hurry. We still held the banners and began to practice.
Later on, the first national TV station came to interview us. We all wore yellow clothes printed with "Truthfulness Benevolence Forbearance" and "Falun Dafa" and were perfectly lined up to practice. It was a heavy rain later. Everyone practiced meditation in the rain. After the video recording, the reporters left, but practitioners still practiced meditation. All practitioners, including old people of 70 years did not move for 45 minutes. The rainwater drenched practitioners' hair and dripped from their faces. More congressmen came out to watch and many tourists were attracted by this solemn and respectful occasion making a temporary stop to watch in the rain and ask for the materials. There were several tourists who were deeply moved. They held their thumbs up to practitioners and took many pictures.
After practicing, all of us realized that it was in fact our teacher who helped us to promote the Fa. The effect produced in the rain was better that on a sunny day.
In the afternoon, we went to the front of the Chinese Embassy to promote the Fa. We held the banners and distributed materials to passersby. The passing vehicles slowed down one after another and blew whistles to send their greetings.
November 30
On the morning of November 30, we went to the front of Chinese Embassy again. There were a lot of passersby in the morning and we distributed a lot of Dafa materials. However, around 9:00am, the door of the Chinese Embassy opened. Several people came out from inside and strung a thin rope and hung several pictures on it. Several members of the Embassy staff carried a stack of materials and they vied with our practitioners to distribute their materials for every passerby. Some passersby did not understand and asked us. When they knew the truth, they were very angry at the Embassy's behavior.
A little while after the several members of the Embassy staff had come out, two Western women came by. They talked with the Embassy staff for a long time and saw their materials and pictures, and then they came to talk with our Western practitioners. Our practitioners introduced the true situation of Falun Gong and the facts that Chinese government persecuted Falun Gong practitioners. After talking, these two women indicated that they were willing to learn Falun Gong.
This time during our Fa promoting activity, the Embassy staff did not hurl abuses at practitioners directly like the last time and hide behind a curtain to take pictures. They took their camcorder brazenly this time. They shot film of our promoting Fa scene for over half an hour.
A middle age Chinese woman asked that since we could practice at home, what goal did we want to reach by coming here? Practitioners told her that we just promote Fa to ordinary people and make the truth clear and request that the Chinese government stop persecuting Falun Gong. After that, we enlightened that no matter what these people came for, we should tell ordinary people the truth with benevolence.
At 10:00 am, we ended our Fa promoting activity in the front of the Chinese Embassy. Then we went to the center of the city to distribute materials for a while, and then we drove our cars back. With that, we finished our four-day Fa promoting trip to the capitol.
