Since July 1999, Falun Dafa practitioners in Laiwu Steel Plant in Shandong Province not only have not given up practicing, but also went to Beijing to appeal. They have been severely persecuted. So far, two practitioners have been sent to the Labor Education Camp; 21 practitioners have received criminal detention; 7 practitioners have received administrative detention; and 11 practitioners have been fired from their workplace. At least 38 people have been illegally detained.
In January 2000, several Dafa practitioners from Laiwu Steel Plant went to Beijing to appeal and they included Wang Dexian, Zhang Aiyun, Wang Mei and Yuan Demei. As a result of this, Leng Dong, Yuan Jianhua, Zhang Dukun and some other policemen from Laiwu Steel Plant tortured these practitioners physically for an entire night after they were escorted back from Beijing. These evil people kicked, slapped and beat them maliciously. While interrogating practitioner Wang Shoujun, Jiao Yuqi, the major police officer in Laiwu Steel Plant, seemed as if he had lost his human nature and he kicked Wang so hard in the face that Wang's face gushed blood. In addition to this, Jiao also beat some female practitioners very brutally.
In May 2000, these evil individuals became crazier. With their hands handcuffed to their backs, Wang Yong and Wang Junsheng were beaten by Leng Dong and Zhang Dukun for several hours because they went to Beijing to appeal. Jiao Yuqi kicked practitioner Wang Chuanying very hard in the face and Wang's face became distorted and beyond recognition. Li Li, a policewoman in Laiwu Steel Plant was even crueler in beating and torturing female practitioners.
The Police Division in Laiwu Steel Plant detained Yu Luping and Song Yan for 140 days because they went to Beijing to appeal. Liu Suying, a retired employee of Laiwu Steel Plant, was fined more than RMB 9,000 (about $1000) for going to Beijing and appealing. Liu also lost personal freedom. For example, Liu once went home since one of his relatives had passed away, and was fined RMB 500 (about $60) because of this.
In July 2000, the Police Division and some other departments of Laiwu Steel Plant isolated Falun Gong practitioners and forced them to "transform", i.e., to give up practicing. 7 practitioners thus went on a hunger strike for this unlawful detention. They were then injected with medicine and fed by force. Now, this inhuman persecution still continues.
Practitioners Wang Dexian and Wang Yong (father and son) have been sent to Wangcun Labor Education Center for the so-called "transformation".
