[Nanchang, Jiangxi Province] Dafa practitioner Li Yanhua dies in custody
Nanchang Dafa practitioner Li Yanhua, 48 years old, was a storekeeper of Hongdu Fenglong Inc. of Nanchang. She went to Beijing to appeal twice on November 1 and 21, 1999, respectively. She was detained for 11 days and later sentenced to two years of forced labor education. She was very steadfast in jail and went on a hunger strike for a total of 54 days. She was force-fed and injected with salt water by policemen. On the night of April 14, 2000, she died in jail.
[A city in Southern China] Falun Dafa banners fly in parks and on buildings
At 12:30 PM one day, sheets and flyers telling the truth of Falun Gong descended from the top of several department store buildings located in the busiest district of a city in Southern China. Pedestrians picked up 90 percent of the materials. Even more noticeable was a huge banner with the words "Falun Dafa is Good", which was hung from the eleventh floor of a department store building and flew in the wind for ten minutes. At 5 PM the same day, a banner with the words "Falun Dafa is Good" was hung from a bridge and flew in the wind until 10 PM.
[Southwest China] Young practitioners from a city in Southwest China post flyers all over the city
Dafa practitioners from a city in Southwest China realized that it is the ultimate benevolence to tell people the truth of Falun Dafa, giving them a chance to really understand Dafa and attain a better future. Overnight, two young practitioners just over 10 years old posted flyers clarifying the truth of Dafa all over the city and also distributed more than 1000 copies of the materials. Wherever they went that night, it was quiet --- even the dogs did not bark. They returned home safely afterwards.

[Xinjiang Province] Many veteran practitioners step forward to validate Dafa
Many veteran practitioners in Xinjiang have read Teacher's articles published this year and Teacher's "Serious Teachings" published on September 27 on the "Minghui" website. After the study, they now actively communicate and exchange views with most practitioners who have stepped forward to validate Dafa. They have improved their understanding of Dafa and their xinxing (mind-nature/by editor), changed their human mentalities, put down their selves and melted into the cultivation within Fa rectification. Some veteran practitioners could not step forward to validate Dafa in fear of the evil forces; many practitioners thus actively exchanged views with them. When Teacher's speech on October 21 in San Francisco was published on November 2, these veteran practitioners were all shocked and they all felt that the status of their "cultivation at home" was wrong. Many of them melted into the cultivation within Fa rectification and "suffocat[ed] the evil" right away. Some of them are still pondering, but it can be told from their words that their hearts have been touched and their mentalities were changing. One day they surely will step forward from human mentalities.
According to the information from the public security bureau: there are over 10,000 people still currently practicing Falun Gong in Xinjiang. Over 500 practitioners have been arrested at least once. In Urumqi (City), the government reports that 66 practitioners are distributing Falun Gong materials. [Gansu Province] A Dafa practitioner from Gansu is arrested for distributing flyers
Dafa practitioner Lu Yarong from Yumen, Gansu Province was arrested while distributing flyers clarifying the truth of Dafa in Jiuquan on October 28. She was currently detained at the detention center of Jiuquan.
In November, on the streets and in residential areas of x city in Gansu Province, there once again appeared many flyers clarifying the truth of Dafa in order to suffocate the evil and save the people of the world. The police were at a loss in finding out who did it.
[Sichuan Province] Recent situation of Dafa practitioners
Dafa practitioner Zhu Junxiu, female, is from Sichuan and in her forties. On October 15 she was arrested by plainclothes police. The police opened her house with the keys they had stolen from her, and ransacked it without the presence of, nor having notified, her family members. Her son's computer and accessories, CD, fax machines, and some other personal property was taken away.
The law of China stipulates that, to search a party's home, the police must submit an application and must do so with the concerned party on the scene after the warrant is issued. The police's behavior of searching Zhu's home with nobody on the scene is, in itself, already a violation of the law.
Li Shunqun is a resident in her fifties in Baohe Village, Chengdu. On October 29, she went shopping for groceries. Right after she returned home, policemen rushed in, searched her home and confiscated the Dafa books and exercise tapes she had purchased for her personal use.
In October, more than 20 practitioners at Xinjin County, Sichuan Province were arrested in their homes without any reason, after the police ransacked their homes and confiscated their property. They were not released until the end of the "Western Forum of Year 2000 in Chengdu, China".

A young Dafa practitioner was detained for a while because he went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. Since his release, the local police often harass him by searching his house for Dafa materials, cassettes, videotapes and his diary, interfering with his family's regular life. The police of Jianan Branch Station ignoring the law, randomly arrested Dafa practitioners and searched their homes without any search warrant. These illegal police activities severely interfere with citizens' normal lives and harm them both physically and mentally. Due to police harassment, a citizen does not even have basic freedoms or a normal life.
[Chengdu, Sichuan Province]Practitioner Sentenced to Two Years for Accessing the Internet
Wang Shichuan, male, 30 years old, is an employee of Compound No.8 of Chengda Chemical Engineering Company, Chengdu. At about 9:00 PM on November 9, 2000 he was arrested in his home by two policemen. No one knew his whereabouts. It was through an intensive search by his employer and his family members to learn that he had been sentenced to forced labor camp for two years because he downloaded some information from the Internet.

Jian City: Cao Yuanhua, male, is detained in Jian Detention Center; Liu Wengu, female, is detained in the Labor Camp of Jiangxi Province in Qingyunpu, Jiangxi Province; Zhong Xiaoyun, female, is detained in the Labor Camp of Jiangxi Province in Qingyunpu, Jiangxi Province; Wang Nongzhen, female, is detained in the Labor Camp of Jiangxi Province in Qingyunpu, Jiangxi Province; Wu Minggao, male, is detained in Jinxian Detention Center. Wanan County: Huang Xiong, male, and another practitioner whose surname is Guo are detained in Jinxian Detention Center. Xiajiang County: Pong Jing is detained in Labor Camp of Jiangxi Province, Qingyunpu, Jiangxi.

Dafa practitioner Peng Gonghui from Shenzhen has been detained since the beginning of July, 2000 because of her determination to practice Dafa. Recently in order to have her "transformed", a so-called "transformed" practitioner was specially arranged to work on her ideologically. However, she refused to talk with this person.
[Qingzhou, Shandong Province] Brief Description of Practitioners from Qingzhou in Forced Labor Camps
Liu Rongyou, male, 52 years old, was the general secretary of Qingzhou Village Cooperation Foundation. He has been illegally detained many times since July 1999. In April 2000, he jumped out of the building where he was detained and returned home. The foundation dispatched people to keep watch on him and did not allow him to step out his house. At the beginning of June, he was forcefully sent to labor camp in Changle, Weifang. In August, he was transferred to Wangcun Labor Camp, Zibo, Shandong Province. His family members are not allowed to visit him. The situation inside the labor camp is not known due to the police's blockage of information. His condition is currently unknown
Liu Chuanbin, male, around 30 years old, is an employee of Yunmen Pharmaceutical Company in Qingzhou. He went to Beijing to appeal on Tiananmen Square on October 9, 2000 and was escorted back to Qingzhou. Then he was sentenced to forced-labor education.
Ma Yunwu, male, 69 years old, is a retired first-rate teacher from the First High School in Qingzhou. He was arrested while attending a small-scale experience sharing conference on December 16, 1999. The school specially built an iron cage under the staircase of a building to detain him in, and intentionally opened windows during the cold winter, without giving him a quilt. Later, he was fined by long-term salary deductions. In November 2000, he and his wife went to Beijing to appeal, where he was arrested on Tiananmen Square and escorted back. He was detained in a small room by his school and later sentenced to forced-labor education for three years. He was fired by the school.
Ji Hua, female, 24 years old, is an employee of Qingzhou Valve Factory, Shandong Province. Because she practices Falun Dafa, she has been detained many times, and unfairly treated by the factory. As a result, she has suffered both physically and mentally, and had been resting at home since the beginning of October. On October 25, 2000, Cao Wanli, the secretary of the factory tricked her into leaving her home, under the excuse of 'discussing matters about her resignation'. Then, the leader named Wang of the Division of Political Safeguarding, Qingzhou Police Department, arrested her. Her family members went to the police station and were told that she had already been sentenced to forced-labor education. They went to the labor camp and were told that she was not there. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Wang Yijun, male, 47 years old, is a farmer from Tanfang Town, Qingzhou, Shandong Province. Since July 1999, his home has been ransacked many times and any materials worth anything were forcefully taken away. The local government detained him illegally on politically sensitive days, and he was brutally beaten or sent to a detention center, as he would not write a pledge to give up Dafa. He was sentenced to forced-labor education in October 2000.

Zhang Zhendong, former chief assistant of the Falun Dafa practice site in Baoji, worker of the Petroleum Mechanical Factory, was sentenced to two and half years offorced-labor education.
Mei Hongying, former chief assistant of the Falun Dafa practice site in Hebin, was sentenced to 3 years of forced-labor education.
Wang Jianwen, former chief assistant of the Falun Dafa practice site in Weibin, was sentenced to 1 year of forced-labor education.
Yang Xin, from Hongqi Village, Linyu Town, Baoji County, was sentenced to 1 year of forced-labor education.

[Zhejiang Province] Wang Jianjun, contact person detained in Shilipu Labor Camp with 14 other Dafa practitioners
In October, 1999, Wang and several fellow practitioners from Zhejiang Province went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa. Before their departure to Beijing, Wang's work unit was under big pressure from the local government. In order to avoid bringing troubles to the directors of his work unit, Wang was forced to resign from his job. Right after Wang returned from Beijing, he was detained. About 3 months later, Wang was sentenced to 18 months of forced-labor education. In Shilipu Labor Camp in Longyou, Zhejiang Province -- the so-called "civilized Labor Camp of the Judicial Department", Wang and other practitioners endured intensive physical labor (from ~5:00 or 6:00AM until ~11:00 or 12:00 at night, with only short breaks for meals in between) and inhumane treatment since April, 2000.

[Guizhou] Expose the secret agents that run around in order to disrupt Dafa
Huang Lingbo, from Guizhou, gets paid by the Public Security Bureau and has been running around all over the country to disrupt Dafa for over a year. Huang asked for money and articles from those that followed him and drank wine with the police. He also claims that he has achieved consummation and can kill lives, etc. Huang wants to damage the reputation of Dafa by usurping the name of 'Dafa practitioner'.
Huang can recite Teacher's scriptures such as " Expounding on the Fa". Huang quoted Teacher's teachings out of context and practiced evil cultivation, advocating handing in Dafa books, etc. Huang frequently disrupts practitioners by under the pretence of Fashen (law body), taking advantage of the practitioners' attachments and fears. In one detention center, because of his disruption, 28 Dafa practitioners had gone to the wrong path for over than 20 days. They were later awakened while studying the Fa.
