Since July 22, 1999, practitioners in Jiangxi Province have conquered all kinds of difficulties and gone through all kinds of tests in order to safeguard Dafa. When they felt confused and scared, they cultivated more vigorously to pass the trials. Many practitioners were detained, sent to labor camps and fined with large amounts of money for their activities. In spite of this, more and more practitioners are stepping forward to safeguard Dafa. The following is a sample of their activities.
1. Let go of the human mentality, be brave in safeguarding Dafa
Zhang Jinhua (alias) and her entire family of X village practice Falun Gong. At the end of last year, Zhang traveled with her daughters, several sisters and other practitioners to Beijing to appeal. "They are so determined that even several men cannot stop them," said their families. Among the group was a woman still breastfeeding a child and an elderly woman in her 70s.
Zhang was sentenced to a labor camp early this year. Her husband is firm in his cultivation. For leading other practitioners to practice Falun Gong outside, he was detained on three separate occasions. Zhang's two daughters were also detained for their faithful cultivation. Before she went to appeal, Zhang sold her furniture and belongings to financially help other practitioners. Now, Zhang's family has difficulty making a living.
Wei Weigang (alias) was dismissed from the Communist Party and from his work because he insisted on practicing Falun Gong. He also lost his apartment and faced detention three times for appealing in Beijing and practicing Falun Gong outdoors. Mr. Wei's wife was detained in the county detention center twice for appealing in Beijing.
2. Remove every obstacle and break through the human shell
Zheng Xiuying (alias) of X village went to appeal without hesitation even though her brother was close to dying. Yu Shuzhen (alias) went to appeal when her daughter was approaching labor and needed care. Already experiencing tremendous persecution in her local city (long-term detention, huge fines and punishment to relatives,) Yu still went to Beijing to appeal in the hopes of a brighter future for humankind. Wang Yufen (alias) was detained because she took part in a group practice. A 14-year-old girl still in middle school also went to Beijing to bravely proclaim the righteousness of Dafa.
Li Tianlong (alias) and two other practitioners of X village were arrested because they practiced outdoors on July 22nd last year. Li and his wife were arrested a second time because they still insisted on practicing Dafa. When he was finally released after 3 months, Li went to appeal again.
Seven farmers from X village were arrested for appealing in Beijing several days before the Spring Festival. The police shocked them with electric rods, drenched their clothes with water and forced them to hold ice while standing for long periods of time in freezing wind and snow. They were detained for 3 months. In addition, they were also fined heavily. Because they couldn't pay with cash or credit, the government ransacked their homes and confiscated their possessions, including recently harvested millet. Despite all this, they firmly cultivate.
Huaying (alias) was detained twice because she took part in a group practice. She also gave up a profitable new business so that she could travel to appeal. Female practitioner Liu Caiyun (alias) was detained several times for appealing; she is on a hunger strike at present.
3. Adopting various methods to Safeguard Dafa with wisdom
Practitioners from X city became awakened amidst sometimes overwhelming feelings of fear and confusion, and are stepping forward. When the tribulations first came in July 1999, they did not even dare to speak to each other or admit that they practiced Falun Gong. Through experience sharing and communication they gradually upgraded themselves. The local practice group and an experience sharing conference held earlier this year helped many practitioners step forward and join the onrush of safeguarding Dafa.
Presently, practitioners in this city are clarifying the truth by distributing and posting Dafa materials. They are safeguarding Dafa in all kinds of ways, including appealing in Beijing. They are helping Teacher in the human world. Because of their efforts, many practitioners who used to practice at home have stepped forward.
