On October 15th, 2000, as the last stop of the "Year 2000 World Million Women Parade" (1st was in Geneva, Switzerland), women from all over the world came to Washington D.C. One of the main topics of this parade was anti domestic violence and abuse towards women and children. Wearing the bright yellow T-shirts, Falun Dafa practitioners peacefully blended in with people wearing colorful traditional clothes. They distributed many flyers about the truth of Falun Dafa--that Chinese government is torturing Falun Dafa practitioners in China, especially abusing women practitioners and children. The Falun Dafa participants' action was welcomed and supported by the spirit of this parade.
Many people had heard of Falun Gong and the Chinese government's persecution from reports in the media. More and more kindhearted folks are approaching us for more facts and expressing their willingness to help. We brought some posters, which have large photos, illustrating how Chinese practitioners are being tortured. These shockingly sad posters attracted people's attention. Looking at these, some people covered their chest, too sad to speak. People sought more materials that document these facts. They took pictures of these posters. They wanted to let their friends know that such vicious violence happened in our modern 21st century. Our flyers were soon all gone.
The head person of an anti-violence organization came to seek more detailed materials, and left her name card, so that we can contact them for further support. A Mexican author said that she will write articles to let Mexican people know all this after returning to her country.
An American lady walked by the Falun Dafa practitioners who were practicing the exercises. She could not help but exclaim in excitement when she felt the strong energy field. She wanted to learn the exercises on the spot. Falun Dafa practitioners showed her the movements patiently. She was describing her experiences excitedly: "Wow, how strong the energy! My whole body feels light immediately." When a Falun Dafa practitioner tried to correct her last hand position in the 2nd exercise, she said with a worrying tone:" I do not want to lose my Falun." The practitioner replied with a big smile: "You won't." So she became at ease.
A very dressed-up lady took off the special pin she wore on her scarf, and pinned it on T-shirt of one of the Falun Dafa practitioner's. She explained that it was brought here all the way from Mexico. She had rejected many people's requests to give them the pin, but she wanted to give it to a Falun Dafa practitioner and to wish us good luck! Many people were admiring this beautiful pin and some were inquiring if she had more. She shook her head "no" with a smile.
One of the parade organizers warmly invited us, "next year will be the Million Family Parade. Please be sure to join! There will be more and more kind-hearted to people to help and support you. The difficult situation in China will no longer exist."
From this introducing Falun Dafa activity, practitioners in D.C. broke away from many mental limitations. We made good use of this parade to reveal the truth to the people of the world.
Teacher said in "Towards Consummation": "Do you know that one of the biggest excuses the old evil forces use at present to attack Dafa is that your fundamental attachments remain buried? So in order to identify those people, the tribulations have been made more severe. If you're attached to Dafa's consistency with humans' science, they manipulate wicked human beings to spread rumors that Dafa is superstitious; if you're attached to Dafa's power to heal illness, they manipulate wicked human beings to spread rumors that Dafa forbids people to take medicine and that this has led to 1,400 deaths; even if you say that Dafa isn't involved in politics, they have wicked human beings spread rumors that Dafa and Li Hongzhi have foreign political forces behind them, and so forth; if you say that Dafa collects no fees, they say that Master has sought to accumulate wealth through dishonest means. Whatever you're attached to, they have evil elements concoct rumors in that regard."
Jiang Zemin and his gang labeled our truth revealing activities as an attempt to "overthrow government, against China," etc. which just proves that we should not be moved by their evil slander, but also should use every opportunity to reveal the truth in a timely manner.
