Everyone is aware of the news reported in recent newspapers and on TV stating that 'They (Falun Gong) are openly against our country and the people -- the reactionary attempt to subvert socialism'. Such words and phrases had been in widespread and popular use during the Great Cultural Revolution (The political movement in China from 1966 to 1976 which placed China in terrible chaos) and now they are being used again at the beginning of the 21st century in China. We can't help recalling the fearful memories of the Cultural Revolution and wonder if history is repeating itself.
However, it seems that Jiang Zemin and his gang have chosen the wrong target this time. It has been more than a year since last year's crackdown began. Not only has Falun Gong failed to vanish in China and through out the world, instead the world has learned more about Falun Gong and its peaceful and kind practitioners. In order to protect their belief of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance", and to defend the dignity of the Chinese constitution, Falun Gong practitioners, placing trust in the government, have been making appeals at the risk of being taken away from their families, careers and even losing their lives. All of these naturally come from their true feeling of responsibility to the country and to the people. However, they have been treated harshly by being detained, sentenced to labor camp or jail, being abused, and even being tortured to death. Presently, there are 60 practitioners, who believed in 'not fighting back when you are being beaten or sworn at', and as a result have been tortured to death. The development of democracy and legality in China has fallen down dramatically.
According to reliable sources, the Public Security Department held a secret conference in mid-August, among those who attended were the institutions of Public Security, Administration and Law. The conference was to pass on Jiang Zemin's intentions concerning the Falun Gong issue. The key points were to strengthen the intensity of the suppression and try to eliminate Falun Gong within three months; severely punish some "backbone" practitioners of Falun Gong before the National Day; plan to execute some steadfast Falun Gong practitioners in order to "execute one as a warning to a hundred". At the same time, Jiang Zemin used his power bestowed by the people to order the Financial Department to transfer secret funds. One of these secret appropriations was up to 50 million Yuan to build prisons for holding Falun Gong practitioners in custody. A Chief police officer of a district police station warned a practitioner that she could be sent to Xinjiang Province if she was not following orders. The above facts show how Jiang Zemin's actions have damaged the reputation of the Communist Party and the government. Jiang Zemin has trampled on the constitution, treated the people cruelly, damaged the democracy, and violated human rights. More and more of his behavior has been disclosed to the international society and has severely damaged the international reputation of China that has been established since the Reform of Open Policy. Yet, he still used machinery to propagate lies to trick and cheat the people. Which direction will such a person lead China to?
Jiang Zemin has tried to get rid of the Falun Gong practitioners in the suppression. If he suspects that you are a "dissident", you can expect to have something disastrous happen to you. "Every individual has the responsibility for the rise and fall of a nation" How can you, the superior members of the Communists, the pillars of the country and the representatives of the people allow Jiang Zemin to continue harming people and damaging the reputation of the Communist Party. If the situation continues, the future of our nation will be in danger and the achievements (establishing the independent nation) at the cost of numerous lives of the Communist members during the National War before 1949 will be destroyed and vanished. How can you face the martyrs?
There is an ancient Chinese saying that "When a person comes to this world, his nature is kind." Kindness is the human nature. Falun Gong teaches people kindness, and teaches people tolerance. It can also help people to improve their health. To eliminate such a good practice is against the rule of heaven and it also raises the indignation of the humans and the gods. The practice of cultivation has never had a relationship with politics even in ancient times. Everything in this world to practitioners is as transient as a fleeting cloud. It is really not wise to put a label of "being involved in politics" on Falun Gong and then attack it brutally.
The crackdown on the April 5 movement in 1976 (the movement was to grieve over the death of former Premier Zhou Enlai and to denounce the gang of four people who held high positions in the government at that time) had been labeled as a disgraceful record in history because it was against the wish of the majority of the people. Today the brutal suppression of millions of Falun Gong practitioners is against the rule of heaven and the will of the people, tramples over the law of our nation and discredits the Communist party and the government as well. The people are very clear about what is happening in the suppression of Falun Gong. It is foolish to impose all kinds of accusations on Falun Gong for suppression. It can only make the people in China and in the world understand the truth more clearly. If you, our representatives of the Communist Party can truly listen to the voice of the majority of people, you will understand that the people cannot be fooled. Don't lead the country and it's people into disaster. It is the people who grant the power to the government leaders. Personal interest cannot be considered and placed above the country and it's people. We sincerely hope you, the representatives of the party seriously consider where you are going to position yourselves in history if you stand against the will of the people. We sincerely hope that you, the representatives of the party will use the discipline of the party and the law of the country to help stop the abuse of the government power by few government leaders.
