More than fifty female Dafa practitioners were detained in Qiaozhuan Detention center, Tongzhou District, a suburb of Beijing this past July. This group included honest and kind middle-aged women, young girls, and elderly ladies with gray hair. They come from all walks of life; some are housewives, some are professional women, some are just young students, and some are senior citizens and grandmothers.
These Chinese women from all walks of life were put into jail by their government just because they believe in Falun Dafa and "Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance." In the face of the police who have lost their conscience and those brutal male criminals, these goodhearted Chinese women have experienced the most brutal and inhumane torture in the history of the detention center.
These admirable Chinese women, who endured all those tortures, with their firm belief in Dafa and their great benevolent compassion, smiled at the evil. People who have been released from the detention center have said that one can't imagine how evil it is in there. There are numerous stories about the Dafa disciples because these great and kind Chinese women didn't give up their faith even in such an environment. Instead, their belief was strengthened. When the evil forces had failed, the guards became more vicious. They sent most of these women, even the grandmothers and teenagers, to the labor camp. Some were even sent to a mental hospital and were persecuted more maliciously. It is impossible for them to return home.
We here in Beijing are asking all kind-hearted people to pay attention to this tragedy. We are using our physical bodies and our lives to call for help and awaken the compassion in the hearts of humankind.
(I)
Huang Xiuling, female, 59 years old, a common farmwoman, is a resident of Fuma village, Majuqiao town, Tongzhou District. In the afternoon of June 30, 2000, she was sent to Tongzhou's Qiaozhuan detention center, and was illegally detained in cell 9. She refused to recite the prison regulations, and kept practicing the exercises. Policemen brought three or four male prisoners to the female cell to beat her up. She was handcuffed and chained. They used electric batons to shock her body and stomped on her feet. These insane criminals held up her breasts and pinched the tips of her nipples. Later, Huang said that it was so painful that she couldn't breathe. These sadists kicked her in her genital area. They only stopped beating her when they became tired. They tried to force her to give up her faith. She was so firm in her faith, that during the torture, she kept reciting a poem in Hong Yin: "Crave for nothing while living, keep nothing when dead, let go of all the thoughts of desire, it's not difficult to cultivate Buddha."
Facing the evil, Huang was not afraid at all and went on a hunger strike. In the afternoon of July 2, she was sent to cell 7, an even more terrible jail cell. At that time, Huang had already been injured all over her body. Her face and knees had become dark purple, and her insteps were mutilated. The police started to force feed her with a tube--the tube was inserted into her nose and down into her stomach; it was extremely painful. Police wanted her to pay 10 Yuan for the single-use disposable tube. Since Huang didn't have any money, the police left the tube in her body so that they could use it again. In the evening, the pain became unbearable and Huang pulled the tube out. The next day, when she was force fed again, the police put her hands behind her back and filled the tube. One end of the tube was left in her stomach, the other side came out from her nose. That evening, when Huang developed a high fever, they took her and gave her some medicine. Huang's high fever didn't drop and she started vomiting. When the police realized that Huang's life was in danger, they were afraid she would die in the detention center, so they hastily sentenced her to the labor camp for one year. Later that evening, they sent Huang home and asked the village committee to watch her.
Within five days, a perfectly healthy person was almost tortured to death.
After four months of detention Huang Xiuling returned home and began to practice the exercises. She recovered very quickly. Gradually, she's recovered her ability to swallow a bowl of rice porridge. However, the police didn't stop there. On July 13, only a few days later, they illegally took Huang away from her home and sent her to the fourth unit of Beijing Tiantanghe female labor camp for forced labor.
The next labor camp had a re-education program which tried to force the determined practitioners to denounce Dafa and denounce Master Li. They used all kinds of vicious methods to torture the practitioners. It was spread around that Huang Xiuling persisted in her belief in Falun Dafa and "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," that she went on hunger strike and that her neck was tortured so badly that she could no longer hold it upright...

Liu Xuebin, female, 54 years old, lives in Binhe resident complex, Chengguan town, Tongzhou District of Beijing. She works as an accountant in the culture department of Tongzhou District and is a Party member. She was arrested on Sept. 4, 1999 when she practiced the exercises at the Tongzhou club; she was detained for three months without any legal procedure. Liu experienced all kinds of brutal torture in the detention center. The guards stripped off all her clothes and used a wet towel with salt on it to thrash at her. They continued to add salt to the wet towel and to thrash her. It left row upon row of small bleeding sores all over her body. The salt stuck to the sores. On the second day, bloody pus oozed out of her wounds and her clothes stuck to her body. It was too terrible to look at. In the face of the evil, Liu Xuebin's heart didn't waver at all. She endured such suffering that one cannot even imagine, and she only said two words: "Thank you." Later, because Liu Xuebin refused to cooperate during a police interrogation, she was labeled mentally ill. After being illegally detained for three months, she was sent to the mental hospital. Liu was put in with the most serious patients. Later, Liu said, "they forced me to take pills and receive injections. I wasn't able to refuse, I treated it as taking a meal." People said: They can turn a healthy person into a crazy person in that place. Liu said she bathed those patients who couldn't control their bladder or bowels; she took care of those patients' daily needs. Sometimes in the middle of the night, a patient would come and grab her neck. Liu said she treated these mentally ill people with compassion; she had no hatred, and no complaints. Liu Xuebin endured this with her strong faith. However, the medicine damaged her nervous system and she became slow to react, and black spots appeared on her face. During Chinese New year, Liu spent her days and nights in the world of the mentally ill. She was released three months later.
Liu regained her freedom. She went to visit her relatives and good friends. People saw her as a completely healthy person, both mentally and physically. Now the kind-hearted Liu can live a normal life, reunited with her family, and is able to meet with old friends.
However, Liu Xuebin made another decision that surprised everyone around her. In order to wake up the world to the injustice that Dafa has endured, she gave up her freedom and went to appeal to the government on April 25 -- a day that had shocked the world a year earlier. She used her personal experience to validate Dafa. The cruel Jiang Zemin and his henchmen sent Liu back into the mental hospital. Five months have passed now. We haven't heard anything about this great and kind Chinese woman. We hope Liu Xuebin is safe.
We are calling on all the kindhearted people in the world to extend your help, to let tens of thousands of good people like Liu Xuebin know that their sacrifice was not in vain, to let this country which has turned the righteous and evil upside down by Jiang Zemin see the light again.

Li Yaping, female, 26 years old, works in the stone factory in Tongzhou District. While being illegally detained in Qiaozhuan detention center, she would not denounce Dafa. Her hands were handcuffed behind her back, and her feet were chained. The criminals opened her mouth, stuck an electric baton in her mouth and connected the electric supply. Her mouth bled and the criminals laughed at her. Since Li is a determined practitioner, she has been beaten up many times and has experienced many different kinds of torture. She was sent to the fourth unit of Beijing Tiantanghe female labor camp without a trial.
Hu Shufang, female, 38 years old, lives in Jixiang resident complex, Tongzhou District. She appealed to the government on June 25. She was detained in the west room --the most vicious part in Qiaozhuan detention center. She was beaten up almost everyday and shocked with electric batons, which left wounds all over her body. She was handcuffed and chained. Hu was very determined in her belief of "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" and was sent to a labor camp without a trial one month later. Her sister, Hu Shuwen, was illegally taken away from her home by the police. Now she's detained in Daxing County's Tuanhe concentration camp in Beijing.
These Chinese women have endured the most brutal torture in a civilized country in the twenty-first century. Some practitioners' faces have been injured by the electric baton and they are covered in scars. They even tortured the most sensitive parts of the body with an electric baton, such as the soles of the feet, armpits, hips, and so on. They burned practitioners' bodies with cigarette lighters and tore off their nails.
We were shocked by such accounts. Recently, we heard that some determined practitioners received forced injections that made them say or do whatever the police wanted.
In the face of such tremendous evil, these great Chinese women, with great benevolence and forbearance, did not hate, complain, or fight back. Because we have obtained the Great Law of the Universe, and understand the true meaning of life, we can give up everything, but we cannot tolerate the slander and lies about Falun Dafa. So, they have left their homes and have gone to validate Dafa with their flesh and blood, even their lives. They are trying to wake up the conscience and benevolent minds of people, so that you and I can have a bright future!
