According to sources inside the Chinese Communist Party, there was to be a large-scale search for practitioners on the night of Oct. 8th. We hope all practitioners were able to raise their vigilance and take good care of their Dafa materials.

[Shandong] Many Shandong practitioners went to Beijing to validate Dafa after successfully confronting numerous dangers and difficulties.

Since Oct. 1st, Dafa practitioners throughout Shandong province have faced numerous dangers and difficulties to go to Beijing to validate Dafa. Since Oct. 5^th, the number of practitioners who have gone to Beijing from Qingdao, Weifang, Liaocheng, Binzhou, and Zibo, etc. has been continuously rising. On the 3rd and 4th, in Zibo city, around 20 Dafa practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal were escorted back. Some practitioners heading for Beijing were caught by the armed forces that were keeping close watch at the train station and the bus stations, etc., and were detained at the police station.

Under the pressure of the international public opinion and overseas Falun Gong practitioners' denouncement of Jiang Zemin's crimes against Falun Gong practitioners in Mainland China, the Public Security Department has adopted more secret and brutal means. Now, they arrest people without making it public. The TV stations and radio stations do not report it. Whoever goes to Beijing will be detained, sentenced to labor camps or jailed. Secondly, they are secretly escalating the punishment in complete disregard of the law and the Constitution. Finally, according to sources inside police departments, the "higher authorities" are planning more clandestine persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.

Ms. Li from Zhangdian district was sentenced to three years labor re-education because of practicing the exercises. Ms. Sun was also sentenced to three years labor re-education. Her whereabouts have been unknown since the time of the sentencing.

We hope that the overseas practitioners around the world will continuously expand their efforts to promote Dafa, strengthen the Internet publication, and publish more relevant articles. [Shijiazhuang] Falun Dafa practitioner Qi Jingwei was sentenced to one-year of forced labor for distributing flyers

Dafa practitioner Qi Jingwei, female, 32 years old, was an employee of International Mansion in Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province. In July 2000, she was arrested at Changan Park in Shijiazhuang City while distributing flyers about the truth of the persecution of Falun Dafa to the tourists. She was taken into custody for one month and after that she was released but was still under surveillance.

On September 30, 2000, a policeman with a last name He, from Hedong Police Station of Shijiazhuang City, together with two managers from the International Mansion, went to the house of Qi's mother, Ms. Liu. They obtained Qi's address in her hometown at Shunping County, Hebei Province from Liu by pretending that they needed to find Qi to work overtime in the holiday season around the National Day. He then went to Shunping County and took Qi back to Hedong Police Station, and sentenced Qi, who was still under surveillance at that time, to one-year in labor re-education for her "distributing flyers about the truth of the persecution of Falun Dafa to the society." She is incarcerated at the Fourth Labor Education Camp of Shijiazhuang City.

According to information from another source, the Chinese Government has issued a secret order that all Dafa practitioners arrested for distributing Falun Gong flyers must be sentenced to at least one-year labor education.

[Jilin] An innocent practitioner, Hu Wenzheng, a young lecturer in the Foreign Language Department of Jilin University, has been arrested; plus several other cases in Jilin

At about 10 pm on October 6, four plainclothes policemen with no official documents broke into the apartment of Hu Wenzheng, a lecturer in the Foreign Language Department of Jilin University. They forcibly took her from her home with the charge of "distributing flyers" and confiscated her computer and CDs. Hu is a very popular young lecturer among the students in Jilin University and has attained certain academic achievements. She is known by all to be a good person. Her suffering has exposed Jiang Zemin's evil to many people. It is known that she is currently detained at the Public Security Office of Jilin City and her family members are not allowed to visit her. Her husband is in the United States. Her sickly mother and her 5-year-old child have been left uncared-for at home. We hope people all over the world can extend a helping hand and help thousands of families like Ms. Hu's escape this persecution.

According to sources inside the Public Security Department, there are over 10,000 spies all over the country pretending to be practitioners. Policemen and some miscellaneous people assigned by the police have infiltrated amongst Dafa practitioners in various ways. Their major tasks are collecting information, trying to understand trends, and looking for clues in order to arrest "core members." Once the police find clues, although they may not immediately take measures, they will nonetheless seek opportunities to arrest them at an appropriate time.

Therefore, we should first of all treat them with the benevolent hearts of Falun Dafa practitioners, because we are openhearted, upright and righteous. We would like to offer the opportunity to introduce Dafa to all people, and make efforts to help them avoid missing this opportunity which occurs only once in ten thousand years.' At the same time, we must use righteous thoughts to seriously treat those who intentionally undermine Dafa. We definitely cannot be like Mr. Dongguo [a Chinese legendary figure who gets into trouble by being softhearted to evil people]. We should discard our attachments at the critical moment, think attentively, and carefully watch the behavior of "everyday people," thus perceiving the minutest details using our divine side. After all, since they do not study the Fa, they are thus easy to distinguish.

For those who undermine Fa we could warn them like this: "You look like a spy sneaking into our midst." A liar has a guilty conscience. No matter how he covers it up, he does not have the benevolent heart of a genuine cultivator.

In addition, there are another 94 Dafa practitioners who are steadily rotated to and from the Labor Camp, sometimes as many as five or six per day. In recent days, Dafa practitioners have been collected together and locked up in the innermost jail cells, where they completely lose contact with the outside world.

[Heibei] Hunger strikes in the No.1 Labor Camp of Hebei Province located in Kaiping District, Tangshan

Falun Dafa practitioners in Qinhuangdao City:

Liu Weiyi, from Funing County, started to hunger strike on August 26^th.

Wang Qinghui, from Qinglong County, started to hunger strike on August 22^nd.

Zhang Qingshu, from Qinglong County, started to hunger strike on August 28^th.

Zhen Zhicheng, from Shanhaiguan District, started to hunger strike on August 21^st.

Zuo Hongtao, from Shanhaiguan District, started to hunger strike on August 28^th.

Tao Xiaoping, from Seaport District, started to hunger strike on August 22^nd.

Gao Shuchun, from Seaport District, started to hunger strike on August 22^nd.

Cui Chuanqi, from Seaport District, started to hunger strike on August 24^th.

Li Qiyue, from Seaport District, started to hunger strike on August 26^th.

The above 9 people are still on hunger strike.

Zhang Deyi, female, from Seaport District, started hunger striking on May 23^rd and was then sent to Tangshan psychiatric hospital (Fifth Hospital of Tangshan). She was sent back home on July 5^th. Zhang Deyi was severely mistreated in the psychiatric hospital. She was forcibly administered injections of drugs and shocked with electric needles. Zhang Deyi said to the physician-in-charge: "We are Dafa practitioners, not psychiatric patients, so we do not need psychiatric treatment." However the physician replied: "You guys refuse to eat, you resist the government, and you resist us, so you definitely are psychiatric patients." Zhang Deyi and a fellow practitioner, together with two other psychiatric patients were treated' with electric needles. When the actual psychiatric patients in the hospital would cry out loudly during such treatments, the physician said: "What are you crying for? Falun Gong did not even cry with the needles on the 2^nd level. You cry with it just on the 1st level." As for such a physician, where are his medical ethics? He must be the accomplice of a murderer.

Later, when sending Zhang Deyi back home, a staff member in the Labor Camp revealed that a famous doctor in this psychiatric hospital has treated more than 30 Dafa practitioners with the so-called "mental cure." One practitioner has been detained and maltreated in the psychiatric hospital for over three months.

In addition, a practitioner from Shijiazhuang, Qiu Liying, was still on a hunger strike when Zhang Deyi was released. Until then she had been on a hunger strike for four months. One practitioner from Tangshan City, Duan Jingjing, became blind in both eyes after two months' of hunger strike. She was force-fed once every seven days.
