Since Minghui.org (Clearwisdom.net) published "Serious Teachings," a tremendous impact has been created among a great many of my fellow practitioners. A small number of practitioners even dare not believe it for a number of reasons. In regard to this issue, I would like to share my reflections with you.
First of all, this article was, in my opinion, absolutely published with the concurrence of Master Li. It appears to be an article of an advisory nature to Falun Dafa practitioners at this critical time. Then, why was this article published in the form of proceedings recorded by students, rather than an official article signed and dated by the Master? This is because the compassion of the great Teacher is indeed enormously vast. If it were an article written by and released directly from the Teacher, then I am afraid that an official end would have really been made to the Fa rectification. Consequently, it would then be possible for many those practitioners who carry out the so-called "cultivating quietly or privately at home" to forever lose the opportunity to cultivate within Fa rectification and advance towards Completion accordingly. When the truth of Falun Dafa is disclosed to the human world, what many people will lose may even be more than this.
The boldface words in the article, i.e., the original words of the Teacher, are well linked together with other articles of his that were published previously. Then, why were some people shocked by this article, disbelieving that this article was actually from the Teacher? This is because Dafa (Great Law) is the most righteous -- it is so upright that anything that is not righteous enough will probably be stunned and shocked. With the shock, there are two possible choices: One is to eliminate one's own attachment and demonic nature by conforming to the requirements of the Dafa. The other is to go against Dafa by persisting in the so-called using "one's own understanding" (in fact, it is not the understanding of one's own true nature). Conversely speaking, if we are shocked, then why don't we follow Master's requirement of looking internally at ourselves when encountering each and every obstacle, rather than seeking externally? Why has not the language in this article that hit the nail on the head enabled those practitioners who "cultivate quietly or privately at home" to reveal the mentality of fear that has been deeply hidden and has long accompanied them.
In the article "Eliminating Your Last Attachment(s)" it has been mentioned: "Dafa disciples, however, are eliminating all ordinary human attachments--including the attachment to their human lives--in order to reach the realms of higher beings." Then, can those practitioners who "cultivate quietly or privately at home" really meet such a requirement? Can they reach that realm where they could even (metaphorically) have the "body remaining in sitting meditation even when the head is cut off?" Of course, breaking through human barriers and stepping forward to validate Dafa does not mean one has to be taken away by evil forces (the Teacher has discussed this in the article "Rationality"), or that one has to follow a certain fixed pattern. If a person can really let go of all his attachments and anything that he is afraid of losing, and replace the human mentality with that of enlightened beings, then his awakened nature will naturally enable him to act correctly.
Some fellow practitioners asked questions about the issue of studying the Fa as raised in the article. As I perceive it, it is not contradicting all the previous teachings of the Teacher's. This is because the purpose of a person's studying the Fa is to have him assimilated into the Fa and enable him to advance towards Completion and fulfill his long-time promise of assisting the Teacher in the Fa rectification process. It is not possible for a practitioner to stay forever in the human world and read the books with a human mentality. In other words, it is not possible for a practitioner to forever remain in the state of human cultivation.
Moreover, the Teacher has also mentioned: "The purpose of posting my photo and the article 'The Knowing Heart' on Minghui (Clearwisdom) was to build a trustworthy website for practitioners" and "On important matters, practitioners must watch the position of Minghui (Clearwisdom)." At this serious moment of the present time, we must understand the Fa from the perspective of the Fa with a sober mind and let the righteous mind and rationality we obtain from Dafa guide us. We cannot rely on the things we see, hear, dream about, or feel to control our judgment. Our own judgments, which must be based on our righteous mind, should not be influenced by attachments of ours that have yet to be relinquished. Let our true selves be in control of ourselves. We should not miss the opportunity of cultivating within Fa rectification -- an opportunity that is as rare as it is precious.
