Case Description:
Ms. Bai Yanxia, twenty-eight years old, was a teacher at the Haotou high school in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. In October 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. While traveling to Beijing, the police intercepted and illegally detained her. After that, people from the police station, the school, and the education department continuously monitored, persecuted, and interfered with her. She suffered a lot mentally and physically and died from cancer in the summer of 2000.
