Case Description:
In 2001, Mr. Yang Zhonghai, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Suileng County, Heilongjiang Province, was sentenced to one year in a forced labor re-education camp. A few days later after he was released, the Shuguang Police Authorities once again abducted him right before the New Year's Day of 2002. Mr. Yang Zhonghai went on a hunger strike for 6 days to protest the wrongful arrest. At that time, he was very weak, as his health had been severely damaged due to prolonged periods of torture and persecution. He passed away on May 19 (Lunar calendar, April 8), 2002.
