Case Description:

(Minghui.org) Ms. Huang Yanli was born in 1969. She graduated from Teacher's College of Yangzhou and was a high school chemistry teacher at Qixiu High School in Nantong. After Ms. Huang started practicing Falun Dafa in 1997, her lupus symptoms were completely gone and she became mentally and physically healthy. She lived up to the standard of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, worked hard, and was recognized as a good teacher by both parents and her colleagues.

After the persecution began on July 20, 1999, she was arrested many times by the 610 Office of Nantong because she wouldn't give up practicing Dafa. She was sent to a brainwashing center, a detention center, a forced labor camp, and prison. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor in 2001 by the 610 Office of Nantong and was sent to Judong Forced Labor Camp. She was brutally abused in Group No. 4 in Judong Forced Labor Camp, where they made her stand for long periods of time, and her calves swelled so badly that they looked thicker than her thighs. She was sent back to Nantong and went home after spending two months in Judong Forced Labor Camp.

At the beginning of 2002, she was sent to a detention center for making truth clarifying materials. In June 2002, she was arrested by the 610 Office of Nantong while at work and sent to a brainwashing center. She refused to give up practicing Falun Gong, so she was sent to a detention center for several months.

In November 2001, the 610 Office of Nantong manipulated the local public security authorities and had Ms. Huang put on trial. Without any valid accusations, Ms. Huang was sentenced to six years in prison and was sent to Nantong Women's Prison. To prevent frequent visits from Ms. Huang's mother, Ms. Huang was later transferred to Tiexingqiao Prison for Women in Nanjing. During the time Ms. Huang spend at Ward No. 5, she was abused and beaten terrribly by prison guards.

The prolonged abuse was detrimental to her health, and her lupus recurred. According to the law, lupus disqualifies a person from serving a prison sentence. The Nantong 610 Office ignored this. Ms. Huang's family asked that Ms. Huang be released for medical treatment, but the 610 Office acted in collusion with the prison to not let her go home. Furthermore, they forbid Ms. Huang's mother from visiting her.

Ms. Huang was unable to eat for four months, and the prison gave her intravenous solutions often and unknown drugs. She was usually unconscious. When her condition was critical, the prison sent her back to Nantong accompanied by a physician on October 22, 2004, but the 610 Office of Nantong still did not let her go to her mother's home.

Ms. Huang passed away on December 15, 2004. She was only 35 years old.
