Case Description:
Ms. Niu Shumin, 87 years old, lived in Changping Disctrict, Beijing. Since she started practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, all her diseases disappeared. Because all her family members practice Falun Dafa, they have been frequently assaulted by vicious persons. On the evening of July 20, 2004, more than ten 610 Office staff members went to her home, arrested her and took photos of her without her consent. Niu Shumin was badly hurt both physically and mentally, and was constantly in a state of fear after that. Later, her granddaughter was also arrested by the 610 Office, and three family members including the granddaughter were unlawfully sentenced. This caused Ms. Niu tremendous anguish, and she died in February 2005.
