Li Yuzhang - 李玉章
(Minghui.org) Mr. Li Yuzhang was a resident in Yishui County, Shandong Province. Deputy chief Shen Huanchun of Zhuge Town Police Station arrested his brother, Mr. Li Huazhang, at 11 p.m. on May 14, 2007 before driving the latter to Mr. Li Yuzhang's home. Shen ordered Mr. Li Huazhang to knock on the door of Mr. Li Yuzhang, who was thus deceived into opening the door to the police.
The two brothers were brutally beaten at the police station that night and sent to Yishui County Detention Center the next morning. The police targeted the brothers because they refused to renounce Falun Gong.
Mr. Li Yuzhang was beaten so hard at the detention center that several of his teeth fell out. About one month later, he was sent to Wangcun Labor Camp to serve one year's term.
Mr. Li and his daughter, Ms. Li Jinling, were arrested on September 21, 2011. He was held at the detention center for 38 days, during which time he was beaten and given meager amount of food. Chief Shen drove him to Zhangqiu Labor Camp on the 39th day. The labor camp refused to take him, and Shen treated the camp management to lunch and persuaded them to detain Mr. Li.
His daughter was sent to a brainwashing center.
Mr. Li developed high blood pressure and diabetes during his one year of forced labor. He was hunch backed and weak when he was released.
Mr. Li, his daughter and another practitioner were arrested on November 14, 2013.
Mr. Li was harassed in 2014 and 2015.
Yang Bo, newly appointed police chief, arrested Mr. Li on November 30, 2016. The detention center refused to take him and Yang released him.
Mr. Li had a surgery in February 2017. On July 18 that year, the police came to ransack his home and videotape him. His health kept declining. He often lost balance and fell into a coma. He died on March 28, 2018, at the age of 69.
