Case Description:

(Minghui.org) Mr. Wang Wenzhong was born on September 2, 1975. He was a native of Yishui County, Shandong Province and worked in Weifang City in the same province. He was arrested on November 2011 and had his rental place raided. He was held at an unknown place for 66 days before being transferred to Weifang Detention Center on January 11, 2012.

He was sentenced to 7.5 years on October 22, 2012 and sent to Jinan Province around May 2013.

Mr. Wang was abused in prison and suffered several strokes. He had three surgeries. His sister saw his head bandaged when she visited him.

On March 8, 2017, Mr. Wang received a letter from his family. But the guards ripped the letter apart without giving him a chance to read. He was traumatized and had a stroke again on March 12, 2017 and became incapacitated.

The prison called Mr. Wang's sister at 11 a.m. on January 12, 2018 and said he had passed away. Mr. Wang's sister and her husband rushed to the prison hospital to see the once healthy Mr. Wang had been reduced to just skin and bones. A guard said he died of a brain hemorrhage.

Mr. Wang's sister requested that the prison purchase a new outfit for her brother, who had only a patient's robe on. The prison had Mr. Wang's body cremated hours later and his sister and brother-in-law brought his ashes back that night.
