Li Jinku - 李金库
(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Jinku, a simple and honest farmer of Zhongbu Village in Heting County, Tangshan, Hebei Province, was arrested on July 10, 2015. He was tortured in the local detention center and Jidong Prison. The prison authorities refused to release him until he was on the verge of life. Li passed away on May 20, 2017.
Mr. Li Jinku used to be sickly before he practiced Falun Gong. He was diagnosed with rheumatic heart disease at age 38. Doctors in multiple hospitals, including those in Beijing, couldn’t cure his heart disease. For 8 years, Jiinku was so weak that he couldn’t even walk by himself, much less to say about working in the farm.
As short as one month after Jinku started practicing Falun Gong in 1997, his diseases were gone. He felt energetic and didn’t feel tired no matter how heavy his work load was. He followed Falun Gong’s guiding principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in everyday life, became a thoughtful and helpful person. He is respected as a great man in his village.
After the persecution of Falun Gong was launched in 1999, Jinku has been arrested and persecuted in brainwashing centers, detention centers and prison just for saying Falun Gong was great.
The local police arrested Jinku and ransacked his home on July 10, 2015. He was imprisoned in Leting County Detention Center for 3 months. He was forced to do slave labor, beaten, and deprived of meals sometimes.
In January 2016, Jinku started running a high fever. He couldn’t talk or eat anything. He was sent to the county hospital and later to Ankang Hospital in Tangshan, a hospital designated by the police. He was diagnosed with pulmonary heart disease and coronary disease. After he got a little better in the hospital, the detention center sent him to Jidong Prison in Hebei Province.
Jinku started running high fever again 20 days after he was admitted into the prison. His condition continue to deteriorate in the prison hospital. However, the prison authorities refuse to release him. He was transferred back and forth between a general hospital and the prison hospital. He had lost his vision by the time he was transferred to Tangshan Workers’ Hospital. He couldn’t eat, had difficulty breathing and could only lie on his stomach.
Seeing that Jinku could die any time, the prison authorities finally notified his family to take him home. He passed away on May 20, 2017.
