Supplemental Information on the Organ Harvesting From Falun Gong Practitioners

At the end of last month, I had spoke about the treatment of Falun Gong in Shenyang and some other regions of China. Here I would like to disclose more information to facilitate the international community to help stop this kind of activity.

Currently, the greatest difficulty is gathering evidence of the organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners and other detained individuals. The lack of evidence prevents relevant overseas organizations from solving the problem.

On the issue of gathering evidence, I can disclose an outline of the government's process that I had encountered, in the hopes that relevant organizations can learn tips from it. Due to safety reasons, I still cannot disclose the entire process. Here I will describe parts of the process.

1. Forced means of organ harvesting

Overall, there are two types of transplant sources: voluntary and involuntary. However, according to the government, all of the organ donors are voluntary. What does that mean? It means that Falun Gong practitioners and other detainees are detained using their real name, but when it comes to organ transplants, fake names are used. In other words, a false identity is created. However, all of this person's information is available, and a voluntary transplant organ donation form is signed (of course the signature is fake). I have encountered over 60,000 of these documents with falsified signatures. All of them say that the individual voluntarily agrees to an organ transplant and will be responsible for all of the consequences. Some of the forms are even for heart transplants. Many signatures are the same person's handwriting. These documents are kept for 18 months and must be destroyed at the end of 18 months. The documents are kept at the provincial-level military regions. Reviewing these documents would require permission from the CCP Central officials based in the local areas.

One thing worth noting is that during the entire process of an organ transplant, if the transplant is not successful, the documents on the organ source and the body must be destroyed within 72 hours. All of the documents and the body (sometimes even a live person) must be cremated and the cremation certified by military management personnel. These military personnel have the right to arrest, detain, or execute any doctors, police, paramilitary police, or research staff who leak the secret to the outside. The military personnel have clearance from the CCP Military Commission.

2. Organs obtained from live bodies

Any person identified to be a source of an organ transplant is transferred from the prison, labor camp, detention center, or concentration camp. At this point, the person loses her name and is given a code, which corresponds to a false identity of a voluntary organ donor. The person is told that she will go through a physical examination. The exam is followed by local anesthesia, then organ transplant from the live body. Due to security reasons, details relating to the military management personnel are omitted.

3. Why such a big discrepancy between publicly announced figures and reality?

Many people pay a lot of attention to the transplant statistics announced by the government. Actually, "underground" organ transplants are many times that of the number publicized by the government. For example, if the government says that there are 30,000 cases a year, then the real number is about 110,000. There is an abundance of organ sources, and this is another reason why the prices for organ transplants have decreased.

Many hospitals under the jurisdiction of the military, while reporting some transplants to the central government and the public, are actually conducting a large number of organ transplants in secret. The real number is much higher than government statistics. As I said before, in the eyes of these people [who are doing the operations], the people whose organs are being removed are no longer regarded human, but animals. When doing it for the first or second time, some of them feel shaky and nervous. But after thousands of operations, everything is changed. They become numb about extracting organs from live people and cremating live people.

Everyone knows that China exports many products. But in China, there are also a large number of live people being exported. In other words, the Chinese people that meet certain physical criteria are exported overseas as products through a network. The organ transplants are done overseas, and the bodies of the transplant sources are also destroyed (Note: In many countries, there are Chinese-operated agencies that handle the bodies after organ transplant from live people; many Chinese embassies and consulates are also involved). China tops the world in exports related to live human bodies. For almost all of these people, there are falsified documents. I am not aware of the details. I know that more than 940 people were exported in 2005. There is actually a large global network of organ harvesting and transplants, and the transactions are centered in China. Since 2000, more than 85% of the world's organ transplants have been done in China. This number is from a document within the Military Commission. A few people were promoted to generals for "accomplishments" in this area.

4. Monitoring and management system for evidences

As I said before, the organ transplants are managed by the military. This system is far superior to the government agencies. Once something becomes classified information in the military, it is impossible to obtain any more information, as I'm sure everyone is aware of how the military system is operated. So we must shift some attention to many of the military facilities. Those are the true concentration camps.

That's all I'll say at this point. I apologize that due to security reasons I cannot elaborate on the details.

A veteran military doctor from Shenyang City

 Public channels of information in March 2006 have verified the torture deaths of 14 Falun Gong practitioners from Mainland China. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) under Jiang's direction began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, a total of 2,855 practitioners have been verified to have been tortured to death.

The genocidal persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP and Jiang's regime has continued for close to seven years. The regime has brutally tortured Falun Gong practitioners to death and also imposed tight restrictions on information related to the persecution. The torture deaths reported publicly on Clearwisdom.net and verified through public channels are only the tip of the iceberg. Recent news of the atrocities in Sujiatun Concentration Camp in Shenyang City revealed that the CCP has not only illegally detained a huge number of Falun Gong practitioners, but also reaped huge profits through the appalling practice of harvesting organs from live practitioners and disposing their bodies immediately. The contemptible brutality of this horrendous crime is reminiscent of the past atrocities of the Nazis.

Among the 14 verified deaths from torture in March, seven of the practitioners died between January and March and three of them were persecuted to death in March 2006. Based on initial statistics, at least 30 Mainland China practitioners were persecuted to death between January and March 2006.

The 14 deaths took place in eight provinces and municipalities: three cases each in Hubei and Sichuan Provinces, two each in Heilongjiang and Jilin Provinces, one each in Hebei, Shandong, Hunan, and Jiangsu Provinces. Eight of them, or 57 percent, were women. Six of these practitioners were over 55 years of age, which accounts for 43 percent of the deaths. Four of them were over 70 years of age.

Mr. Wang Zengren was from Gaodou Village, Yangjia Town in the Jingyang District of Deyang City. He had retired from the Mechanical Construction Company in Sichuan Province. Before practicing Falun Gong, he had heart disease, diabetes, and rectal cancer. Mr. Wang began to practice Falun Gong in 1997, and in two years, all his diseases disappeared without further treatment. He felt the happiness of being free of pain.

After the persecution began, Mr. Wang was detained three times because he clarified the truth about Falun Gong. Police ransacked his home many times and confiscated two years' salary totaling 32,000 yuan. The director of the Jingyang District Police Department, Xiang Huaming, police officer Lin Dexi, Gaodou Village security officer Yu Yunshou, and others directly participated in making the illegal arrests and detentions. They ransacked Mr. Wang's home. They also seized him and his wife, Tian Xingqiong, and took them to the local police station. Mr. Wang and his wife were not allowed to sleep, and they were bitten by mosquitoes all night.

On August 23, 2002, Mr. Wang Zengren was again arrested. This time it was because he took part in a Falun Gong group practice with 92 people. On September 25, 2002, he was deceived by Yangjia police chief Xiang Huaming into going to the Gongnong Village Police Station. He was illegally detained in the Deyang City Detention Center for nine months. Then he was sentenced to two years of forced labor. While Mr. Wang was detained in Deyang City Prison, the guards brutally tortured him. The following is what Wang Zengren said before his death: "On the morning of August 4, two guards told me to go to the health office at the gate. One of them, Cui, said I should stand by the window. He then told me to bend toward the windowsill. He wiped my head with an unknown drug and I fainted suddenly." Mr. Wang was injected with unknown drugs and was kept unconscious for over 10 days. He was incontinent, suffered anal erosion, his legs were swollen, and he could not walk. His head had two holes in it from the beatings he received. He passed away on January 29, 2006.

Mr. Qi Laixing, 72 years old, was a practitioner from Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. He started to practice Falun Gong in 1996. At that time, he had many diseases. After practicing Falun Gong, he recovered from all of them. (/emh/articles/2006/3/18/70925.html)

On October 2, 1999, Mr. Qi went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong. As a result, his property was confiscated and he was sent to a brainwashing center twice and fined several thousand yuan. Later on, he was sent to a forced labor camp for two years. During his imprisonment Mr. Qi suffered from all kinds of cruel torture. He was forced to sit on the cold concrete floor from 6:00 a.m. in the morning to 10:00 p.m. in the evening. He was not allowed to sleep. If he was found sleeping, they would put a bug in his ear or stab him with needles. There was no heat in the room. Because of the lack of food Mr. Qi was very weak. While in the prison, Mr. Qi was also forced to sleep on the floor next to the toilet and was not provided a blanket in the winter. Mr. Qi was tortured in an effort to extort a "confession" from him. He was exposed to extreme heat or forced to stand in the pouring rain until he passed out. The police used wooden sticks to beat him until he was bruised all over. Under the CCP's long-term persecution of both his body and spirit, Mr. Qi died on February 28, 2006.

Ms. Zhu Dafeng, 60 years old, lived on Zhongnan Street in the Wuchang District of Wuhan City. She was a retired teacher. Her husband works at the Hubei Province Police Department, her younger daughter and son-in-law work in police stations, and her older daughter works in a prison. Ms. Zhu Dafeng had been actively clarifying the truth to people with her personal savings by mailing letters and other methods.

On March 5, 2003, two Falun Gong banners appeared on the 10^th Building of the Hubei Province Police Department compound. That same day, Ms. Zhu Dafeng and another practitioner (name unknown, an elderly lady) were arrested, detained for one month, and then forced to go through another month of brainwashing and torture.

On March 1, 2006, Mr. Zhu's husband called the Zhongnan Street Police Station to report her. A group of policemen arrived. They carried Ms. Zhu downstairs and threw her into the police vehicle. Ms. Zhu resisted the illegal arrest and was beaten unconscious in the vehicle. She was directly sent to the Armed Police Hospital for emergency treatment. She was totally covered with bruises from her lower back down to her thighs. Her blood pressure was abnormal, and she died within five days. Her body was cremated. Ms. Zhu's younger daughter, who is a police officer, tried to seek justice over her mother's death but was threatened with dismissal from her job.

Police officer Zhang Xiaofang in the 7^th Group of Nanmusi Women's Labor Camp in Zizhong City, Sichuan Province, is one of the CCP's "Ten Most Outstanding Youths in the Nation." Her false claim is: "If Falun Gong practitioners are not beating or cursing others, they are not 'transformed' completely." Zhang forced many practitioners to stand or squat for prolonged periods of time. She didn't allow practitioners to take showers, brush their teeth, or wash their hands. She instigated drug addicts to burn women practitioners' nipples, slap their faces, and pinch them. She also incited inmates to stuff practitioners' mouths with stinky socks. She didn't allow practitioners to go to the bathroom, and forced them relieve themselves in their beds or in their pants. Then she forced practitioners to take off their coats to wipe up the urine on the floor. She also spit in practitioners' food.

Practitioner Ms. Zhu Yunfan, 50 years old, was detained in the 7^th Group of Nanmusi Women's Labor Camp. Because she refused to give up her belief, she was brutally beaten in the bathroom by inmates instigated by Zhang Xiaofang. She was stepped on and kicked on her chest and stomach and was beaten to death.

At 9:00 a.m. on April 26, 2006, Zhang Xiaofang instigated drug addicts Zhuang Xiaoling and Chen Lingyan to drag Ms. Zhu Yunfang to the third floor in the 7^th Group's building to force feed her medicines. Around 11:00 a.m., four drug addicts, including Chen Lingyan and Zhuang Xiaoling, dragged Ms. Zhu Yunfang to the first floor from the third floor. With the encouragement of on-duty police officer Pan Rong, two inmates stomped on Ms. Zhu Yunfang's knees, pulled her into a bathroom, locked the door, and savagely beat her. Ms. Zhu Yunfang's screams and cries were heard for a long time.

Practitioner Mr. Wu Diahui, 34, was a young lecturer employed by Changzhou City Normal College in Jiangsu Province. In order to persecute him, his employer and city police locked him in a mental hospital, a tuberculosis hospital, and a labor camp. This severely damaged Mr. Wu's health, and he died of tuberculosis on February 11, 2006.

Mr. Wu Dianhui earned his Master's Degree from Shanghai Eastern China Normal University. He was employed by Changzhou City Normal College in Jiangsu Province. On October 30, 1999, Mr. Wu was arrested along with his wife while they were resting in Tiananmen Square. They were brutally beaten in the police vehicle. Returning to Changzhou City, they were locked in a brainwashing center for 10 days. Mr. Wu was tortured by being forced to stand for three entire days by Cultural Security Officer Yao (in charge of the Campus Security of Colleges in Changzhou City) of the Changzhou City Police Department. Later, the Changzhou City Normal College forced the young couple to do physical labor instead of teaching, and took away their promised family housing.

In early April 2000, Mr. Wu went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and was detained in the Changzhou City Police Department. After he was released, his employer and personnel office employees from the Changzhou City Higher Education Committee broke into his rental house off campus.

On May 1, 2001, local police secretly arrested Mr. Wu Dianhui on his way home from visiting his teachers and classmates in Shanghai. After more than 10 days, his family received a two-year forced labor sentencing statement. His son was only eight months old at the time.

Mr. Wu was taken to the Jiangsu Province Dafengfangqiang Forced Labor Camp, where he was tortured with electric baton shocks, deprived of sleep for over one week, beaten by prisoners, locked in the small cell, and brutally force-fed, among other abuse.

Mr. Wu was released on January 1, 2003. Due to severe injuries received in the forced labor camp, Mr. Wu did not recover from the tuberculosis he had contracted and became thinner and thinner. He was hospitalized twice and died on February 11, 2006, leaving his wife, his five-year-old son, and his aged parents.

 Xindian Women's Labor Camp in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is a living hell where the police use numerous cruel methods to torture Falun Gong practitioners. The police do not allow those who persist in the practice to see their family members or make phone calls to them. The police do not allow practitioners to buy food at the commissary inside the labor camp, nor do they permit practitioners to participate in outdoor activities or to use the restroom. They deprive practitioners of sleep and force them to attend brainwashing sessions day and night.

Jia Yuzhen, Ma Yueying, Li Runfang, and Jin Jing were persecuted and deprived of sleep for one to two months because they persisted in practicing Falun Gong. If the police found that one of them had closed her eyes at work, they would deduct points from the inspection scores of the prisoners who monitored them. (High inspection scores can reduce one's sentence at the labor camp.)

The police often incited drug abusers to beat the practitioners, making their faces become swollen and leaving black-and-blue marks all over their bodies. Jin Jing was forced several times to wear nothing but thin underclothes in freezing weather because she cried out, "Falun Dafa is good!" One day, security guard Xu Wenjun had finished cleaning his leather shoes with a piece of cloth. He then forced this dirty cloth into the mouth of Jin Jing, who was wearing handcuffs at the time.

Although Li Runfang has an artificial limb in place of her left leg, the police would cruelly persecute her all the same. They often forced her and the small-framed Ma Yueying to do filthy, heavy, and tiring work.

Falun Gong practitioners who are currently held in the Xindian Women's Labor Camp are enduring the persecution in great pain every day. Officer Liu Zhongmei brazenly yelled to practitioners, "Our responsibility is to persecute you to death."

 Recently, the police in Xishui City, Hubei Province colluded with some local ruffians and illegally arrested many practitioners. Several Falun Gong practitioners' whereabouts are still unclear.

In early 2005, the authorities followed and monitored practitioners for several months. Later they arrested practitioner Mr. Fan, in his 60s, and practitioner Guo Chunliu from Guankou District. They forcibly sent Mr. Fan to the Wuhan City Brainwashing Class. Practitioner Fang Desan from Guankou District was forced to live in exile. On April 30, 2005, Fang Desan went to the No. 1 Middle School to see his son; however, the police arrested him and put him into the Wuhan City Brainwashing Class.

At around 8:00 p.m. on June 9, 2005, over 20 policemen from the 610 Office of the Xishui City Police Department broke into practitioner Mr. Shi Sanchun's home with electronic batons. They arrested Mr. Shi with no warrant and beat his wife. His 15-year-old son was beaten down to the ground. The police handcuffed his wrists behind his back and beat him while trampling on his face.

In September 2005, police officer Feng Aiguo brought a group of policemen to his hometown in Zhudian Township of Zhuwa Town to persecute practitioners. On September 4, they arrested practitioner Yao Wanglai. Practitioner Ms. Xiao Tianying, in her 60s, was forced to live in exile and her whereabouts are unclear.

On September 13, policemen headed by Guo Jianli and Zhang Bailin arrested practitioner Sun Guxiang when she was buying some cooking oil in a market. Four days later, Ms. Sun was tortured nearly to death. She vomited blood and had blood in her stool.

A truly inhuman thing happened when the police arrested practitioner Mr. Zhong Quier from Zhudian Township. A group of policemen attacked him and beat him unconscious on the ground. His mother, in her 70s, went out to protect her son; however, the police even beat the elderly mother so badly that she went into a coma. Afterwards, they put Mr. Zhong into a police car and left.

On November 22, 2005, when practitioner Li Zhengwen, who had lived in exile over five years, was walking around Hedong Restaurant in Xishui City, the police found him and arrested him. On November 25, Mr. Li's 70-year-old mother found that her son was being held in Room 103 at the City Land Tax Hotel. Mr. Li's mother knocked on the door until her hands were black and blue. Policeman Hu Guanghua opened the door, shouted at her, pushed her to the ground, and then closed the door. Later, when the mother saw Mr. Li, he was being carried by two policemen. He had been tortured to disfigurement.

At 5:00 p.m. on November 30, 2005, around 20 to 30 policemen surrounded practitioner Mr. Mao Jiequan's home in Xishui City and then arrested him.

At around 12:00 midnight on November 30, 2005, practitioner Ms. Yang Shurong from the Sandian District was arrested. The police broke into her home and took her away. Though it was very cold outside, they did not allow Ms. Yang, who was only dressed in thin clothes, to wear her sweater.

At 3:00 a.m. on December 1, 2005, a group of police broke into practitioner Ms. Nan Minjun's home and arrested her. During the arrest, they even beat up Ms. Nan's 10-year-old son.

At 8:00 a.m. on December 1, 2005, a group of policemen illegally arrested practitioner Ms. Guo Yun on the street in broad daylight. The police took her away roughly and Ms. Guo lost one of her shoes. Those policemen packed her into a car and left. Ms. Guo's family was not notified. About 9 days later, her husband, who is not a practitioner, went to the police station and angrily condemned those police officers for their lack of humanity.

Ms. He Maofen is about 60 years old. She began practicing Falun Gong in 1997. Her illnesses all vanished after she started the practice. Tragically, Jiang Zemin's regime started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999. He Maofen persisted in cultivating Falun Gong.

Because she clarified the truth about the persecution, Ms. He was brutally persecuted. She was illegally arrested, tortured, fined, and subjected to brainwashing. Her family members were also harassed.

He Maofen was illegally arrested on November 10, 2004, when she clarified the truth in her town. Her home was then searched and she was sent to a detention center. The inhuman detention center authorities denied her food for nine days. Later, one of her relatives paid 5,000 yuan to the detention center. He Maofen was later released.

On December 17, He Maofen was arrested again. The next day, she was sent to the Linyi Brainwashing Center. She was also arrested on March 30, 2005, for distributing truth clarifying materials. Recently, Ms. He has been in the Yishui Detention. Yishui District practitioner Zhou Chengfu has also been held at that detention center.

1. [Lianzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Tan Junhui Disfigured Due to Torture

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Tan Junhui from Lianzhou City, Guangdong Province, was held for three years in the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in Guangdong Province. He should have been released in November 2005 after serving a full term, but just because Mr. Tan Junhui refused to be "transformed," he is still being held in the Baiyun Legal Disciplinary School (also called the Detoxification Institute) in Guangzhou City and continues to be tortured. According to recent information, Mr. Tan has been inhumanely tortured and no longer looks like a human being. His family members are experiencing so much anguish that they cry all day long.

Practitioner Ms. Han Fengxia from Tonghua City in Jilin Province has been living in the Siping District in order to appeal for the release of her husband, practitioner Mr. Wang Guiming, who is being held in the prison. The Jilin Province 610 Office, colluding with the Tonghua City Police Department, sent three people led by Jing Guiquan (male) from the Donchang District National Security Group to ransack Ms. Han Fengxia's house and to take her away.

Ms. Pan Zhengying from the Ezhou Steel Factory of Ezhou City in Hubei Province is a retired accountant. She was illegally arrested by five police officers on March 26, 2006, and now her whereabouts are unknown.

Recently a new "Transformation Center" was set up in the Shuimuogou District of Wulumuqi City in the Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Many practitioners, including Ms. Hou Yanni, have been arrested. The police announced that those who refused to be "transformed" would not be released. When they were arresting Ms. Hou, the police officers forced her husband, practitioner Mr. Liu Shenhua, to jump down the stairs, resulting in bone fracture and paralysis. Their son has now been forced to leave home.

Practitioner Ms. Sun Guxiang from Zhudian Town, Xishui County in Hubei Province, was arrested again on March 29, 2006.

On September 13, 2005, Ms. Sun Guxiang was working in an oil field to extract oil. A large crowd of police officers headed by Guo Jiali (male) and Zhang Bailin (male) arrested her. Within only four days, Ms. Sun had been tortured so badly that she was vomiting blood, there was blood in her stool, and she was at death's door.

At about 9:00 a.m. on April 4, 2006, Mr. Li Decai was reported to the police when he was posting truth-clarification materials in the Yama Factory Family Residential District. The Yongxing Police Station notified the National Security Group. They sent police officers to arrest Mr. Li, who is currently being held in the District No. 2 Detention Center.

At 8:00 a.m. on April 4, 2006, Ms. Wang Manqun from Xuyong County in Sichuan Province was arrested. Hai Neizhen (female) and Director Chen of the Residential District, as well as police officer Ma Yuliang (male) and another police officer, were responsible for the arrest. Her house was also ransacked.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Si Lanfang, 70, is a retired worker. Practitioner Ms. Ai Chaoyu was born in 1970 and is from the No. 7 group of Qilong Village in Baihe Town of the Longquanyi District. Recently the police arrested both practitioners when they were distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. The police also ransacked their homes and confiscated more than 100 copies of Falun Gong truth-clarification materials.

Practitioner Ms. Li Xuerong was born in 1969 and is from the No. 1 group of Shahe Village in Tangyuan Town in Pi County. The police from the Deyuan Town Police Station of Pi County arrested her. Police also confiscated more than 100 copies of various kinds of materials including the "Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party."

On December 20, 2005, the Wuling District Police Department of Changde City, Hunan Province illegally arrested 29 Falun Gong practitioners. Now, Wuling District has established the "115 Special Case Group" and is trying to further the persecution of practitioners.

10. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Practitioners Ms. Zhao Xiulan and Ms. Wang Shuyan Arrested by Police

On the afternoon of April 3, 2006, police from Gucheng Police Station of Nong'an County broke into practitioner Ms. Zhao Xiulan's home and arrested her. They also confiscated a printer and several Falun Gong books.

Another practitioner, Ms. Wang Shuyan, went to visit Ms. Zhao Xiulan. She was also arrested by the police officers, who were hiding. Currently both of them are being held in the Nong'an County Detention Center.

On February 27, 2003, Mr. Jin Xueze from Changchun City was illegally arrested. Police from the Changchun City Police Department colluded with police from Changchun City Chaoyang District Police Department to interrogate Mr. Jin using various methods of torture. They put Mr. Jin onto the Tiger Bench and used electric batons to shock his reproductive organs and other sensitive areas, causing Mr. Jin to lose control of his bodily functions. They also repeatedly used plastic bags to cover his face, leading Mr. Jin to lose consciousness. Furthermore, the police handcuffed Mr. Jin's hands to form the position "carrying a sword on his back." This torture method broke both of Mr. Jin Xueze's arms.

On the night of February 27, Mr. Jin Xueze was sent to the Tiexi Detention Center. Because he was tortured so severely and he looked terrible, the Detention Center did not want to accept him in. However, the police forced him in. Mr. Jin Xueze's mouth and nose were bleeding and shadowy areas appeared in his lung (this happened to be at the peak of SARS), so he was put into an isolation room on the third floor of the Tiebei Detention Center. On World Falun Dafa Day, May 13, Mr. Jin protested the illegal detention through a hunger strike. After that, he was held in the Tiebei Detention Center for one year and later was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment. Mr. Jin is currently being held in the Shiling Prison.

According to inside information, some districts in Benxi City in Liaoning Province are using the money derived from dismissing workers to pay people who have retired or who left their jobs earlier due to health problems. They do not know the truth about Falun Gong and they are paid to follow Falun Gong practitioners.

According to inside information, practitioner Ms. Zhao Shuxian from Zhoujiatun Village of Xiangyang Town was arrested by police when she was clarifying the truth to the Village Residential Committee.

Practitioners Mr. Liang Jinhui, Mr. Hu Jingbin, Ms. He Shifang, and Ms. Jiang Jiyun from the Naxi District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, will face a second illegal trial in the Naxi District Court in Luzhou City at 9:00 a.m. on April 4, 2006.

These four practitioners have been held because they were distributing the Nine Commentaries. The Court had started a trial on January 26, but because of the lack of sufficient evidence of any crime, the trial was repeatedly delayed.

On the afternoon of April 5, 2006, practitioner Mr. Luo Laisong was arrested from his home. Computers and printers were confiscated.

On April 3, 2006, after police ransacked Mr. Zhang Guofu's home, he was not taken back to the Shuanglong Police Station. They took him directly to the Yubei District Detention Center.

On March 27, 2006, the arrest of many practitioners occurred in Zhalantun City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Now it is known that the Nantou Detention Center alone is detaining at least 16 practitioners. Beside this, another group of practitioners is being held in Xia District Police Station, although the exact number is unclear.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lao Song from Dongfeng Mining Facility of Qitaihe City in Heilongjiang Province was arrested at home in the middle of the night on April 3. The Qitaihe City Police, who claimed to be from the Xinghua Police Station, were responsible. When Ms. Lao Song's family members went to the Xinghua Police Station to request her release, the Xinghua Police Station said that it knew nothing about Ms. Lao's arrest.

Ms. Zhang Aiping, 53, is a practitioner from Weifang City. Since she was reported to the police on February 17, she has been held in the Weifang City Detention Center. The police have already brought her to court once.

Practitioner Mr. Jiang Guofeng from Wendeng City, Shandong Province, was clarifying the truth in the Houjia Market Fair on March 16, 2006, when he was followed and arrested by police. He is being tortured in the Wendeng Detention Center.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Shiying, in her 70s, is a retiree from the former Comprehensive Trade Company in Nanbu County, Sichuan Province. On the afternoon of April 4, 2006, because she was distributing truth-clarification materials, four to five police officers from the National Security Group arrested her. They attempted to ransack Ms. Yang's home, but the neighbors all refused to tell the police where she lived. What eventually happened has yet to be investigated.

In recent days, Zichuan District 610 Office agents from Zibo City concocted a "Notice Regarding the Continuation of Rewarding Those Who Report Falun Gong Practitioners' Illegal Behaviors." They are attempting to motivate innocent people to report Falun Gong practitioners to the police.

This notice stated that anyone who catches a Falun Gong practitioner will be rewarded 1,000 to 2,000 yuan; anyone who provides any clues leading to the arrest of a practitioner will be rewarded 500 to 1,000 yuan; anyone who catches those who distribute or post fliers will be rewarded 500 to 1,000 yuan; and anyone who provides clues will be awarded up to 500 yuan. If those who have been "transformed" motivate any practitioners who have not been "transformed" to go to the brainwashing center on their own, they will be awarded 100 yuan.

On the morning of April 5, practitioners Ms. Zhang Xiuhua from Tangshan City and a practitioner surnamed Li were distributing truth-clarification materials in the city market. Both of them were reported to the police by the residential district staff members. Police from the Malu Police Station of the Majiagou District took both practitioners away. They are currently being held in the Malu Police Station.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Guixia was arrested from her workplace on April 4, 2006, and her home was also ransacked.

At noon on March 13, 2006, more than 10 people from the Yanqing County Police Department of Beijing, the Shenjiaying Town Police Station and part of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Village administration suddenly broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Zhang Sufang from Balidian Village of Shengjiaying Town. They confiscated some Falun Gong books, MP3 players, and CDs. Ms. Zhang walked away at about 9:00 p.m. that same night but now is forced to leave home to avoid being arrested. Later, police went to her home and her relatives' homes to search for her.

At about 4:00 p.m. on April 5, 2006, about six police officers from Tongbo County in Henan Province illegally broke into practitioner Ms. Liu Shuying's house and ransacked it. They confiscated Falun Gong books and took Ms. Liu away to the county police department.

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Hemin from Taoyuan Village, Xinji Town of Changli County was arrested in March. The police from the Xinji Police Station, colluding with the National Security Group, were responsible. Mr. Zhang was taken to and held in the Changli Detention Center. When police ordered him to write the so-called Guarantee Statement, he refused. Police extended his detention for an additional 15 days because of this. Mr. Zhang is still in the detention center.

On the evening of April 3, 2006, when practitioners Ms. Zhang Guofeng and Ms. Wang Yuzhen were distributing truth-clarification materials in Hebin Park in Laizhou City, they were arrested by police. The following day, at about 9:00 a.m., six to seven plainclothes police (two of them female officers) went to ransack the homes of these two practitioners. They confiscated Falun Gong books, exercise tapes, and other Falun Gong materials. The police from Laizhou City still have not notified the practitioners' family members as to where the practitioners are being held.

On March 31, 2006, practitioner Ms. Chen Xiuzhi from Xiangcheng County, Xuchang City, Henan Province, was arrested at her home for no justifiable reason. Ding Shuguang, male, the Chief of the National Security Group of the County Police Department, police officer Ma Fei, male, and another police officer sent her directly to the Xuchang Forced Labor Camp.

According to available information, the Qingdao Laixi City Court in Shandong Province is preparing an illegal trial against four practitioners. These practitioners are all from Laixi City and are currently being held in the Qingdao City Detention Center.

Two human body plastination factories has been found in Dalian City. One of the factories discovered is the Hagen's Chemical Plastination Company in Dalian City (plastination is a technique used for preserving human and animal bodies). It is located in the Gaoxinyuan District of Dalian City.

Another one is the Dalian City Medical University Plastination Corporation, Ltd. The former General Manager, Sui Hongjin (male) of the Hagen's Chemical Plastination Company in Dalian City, established it as a joint venture. It is located in Shagangzi Village, Yingchengzi Town in the Gangjingzi District of Dalian City. It is not as large as the Hagen's Chemical Plastination Company in Dalian City. The human bodies are said to come from the three eastern provinces.

1. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Xiaorong Holds Hunger Strike to Protest, Her Life is in Danger

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaorong, who lived in Longhua County, Chengde City, left her home to avoid being illegally arrested. She was arrested by railway security staff when she was clarifying the truth on the train from Beijing to Longhua on the night of March 18, 2006. Ms. Liu was detained at the Shihuiyaogou Village Detention Center. So far, she has held a hunger strike to protest being detained and was tortured to the verge of death.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yamin, an accountant who was employed by the Donghai County Veterinarian Clinic, was arrested on October 23, 2005. She was sentenced to four years in prison by the Donghai County Court and was secretly sent to the Nantong City Prison in Jiangsu Province. During this period, Ms. Wang was tortured by the prison guards. She was deprived of sleep for eight consecutive days and thus she lost consciousness and was near death. The police transferred Ms. Wang from the Nantong City Prison to Nanjing City Fourth Prison. Up to 8:30 p.m. on April 5, 2006, her family members were told to go to Nanjing to visit her.

There are over ten Falun Gong practitioners in Donghai County and all of them were sentenced to at least two to three years of forced labor.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Mei was arrested and her house was ransacked by policemen in Donggang City on April 9, 2006, because she clarified the truth and printed truth-clarification materials. Ms. Liu was sentenced to 13 years in prison after being interrogated without any results. She was detained in the elderly and disabled ward of the Women's Prison, Shenyang City Prison Block. Recently, Ms. Liu Mei was affected with tuberculosis and was transferred to the Prison Hospital. For four years, she was tortured until she became very weak. Her cerebellum was shrinking. She was isolated completely and needed special nursing. Her family members tried to apply for medical parole but were refused.

Ms. Liu Mei's husband, Mr. Zhu Changming, also a Falun Gong practitioner, was sentenced to 13 years in prison. He was detained in the 15th Ward of the First Prison in Shenyang City. Ms. Liu Mei's second brother and sister-in-law Ms. Zhu Xiaoyan were sentenced to three years in prison on the same day (they now are released after serving three years in prison).

Recently, steadfast Falun Gong practitioners have been held together to be brainwashed in the education ward of the Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp.

Recently, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Kong Qingling, Ms. Wang Suihong and Ms. Xiang Shuirong were tried by the Xunyang District Court in Jiuiang City.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yuan Peng, 38, lived in Shangjiahe Town, Fushun County, Fushun City. In October, 2004, Mr. Yuan Peng was illegally arrested by police from the Lishi Township Station at the Lishi Town Developmental Region. After he was detained at the Nan'gou Detention Center in Fushun City, he was sentenced to four years in prison. Now he is detained at a prison near the Shenyang Agriculture University.

On March 17, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Chunbo was arrested by five plainclothes policemen from the Qinghe Forestry Bureau Department while he was working at Qinghe Chaoyi Wood Factory. They also went to two other practitioners' homes. One practitioner was not there. They went to the other practitioner's house and ransacked it. The practitioner was sent to the police department and he was not released until his son paid 3,000 yuan and his house was ransacked. The second day, policemen tried to arrest the practitioners again and the couple (Falun Gong practitioners) had to leave home to escape being arrested. At present, Mr. Zhang Chunbo is detained at the Qinghe Forestry Bureau Detention Center. The head of the Bureau even said that the practitioner could only be fed with one piece of bread per day and could not be visited by family members.

8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Xianjian Arrested and Detained at Weifang City Detention Center

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Xianjian, who lived in Weifang City, was arrested by plainclothes policemen when he was clarifying the truth in Fangzi District, Weifang City on April 8, 2006. He is currently detained at the Weifang City Detention Center.

It was learned that a so-called "prevention meeting" was held in all cities and regions in Hebei Province in March, 2006. They plan to further persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Recently, a meeting was held, which required agents from the Prevention Office, Police Departments, State Security Offices, and Financial Offices to attend. It was required that all Falun Gong practitioners who have been recorded should be checked once again. Every steadfast practitioner was to be sentenced to prison, sent to labor camp, and others would be sent to brainwashing centers if they did not fit the above conditions. The related fees were allocated from the City Financial Office, totaling 200,000 yuan. Each county and city would have to pay 20,000 yuan and every employer of a Falun Gong practitioner would be required to pay 10,000 yuan.

Four Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced to prison by the Laixi City Court. Mr. Li Fayun was sentenced to seven years in prison and Ms. Jiang Shuxiang was sentenced to four years. The other two practitioners' names are still unknown. These practitioners were originally detained at Qingdao City Detention Center and were transferred to prison on April 20, 2006.

At around 4:00 p.m. on April 11, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Lianfen, who lives in Zhucheng City, was arrested when she was clarifying the truth in Wangjiazhuang Town. Her house was ransacked and some Falun Gong books were confiscated. At present Ms. Zhang Lianfen is detained at Zhucheng City Detention Center.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xing Shumei was arrested and her house was ransacked by police from the Yanshan County Town Station in collusion with the Cangzhou City Police Station. Ms. Xing Shumei is currently detained at the Yanshan City Detention Center.

Since April 1, 2006, over ten Falun Gong practitioners have been arrested in Cangzhou City and regions around the city. At least seven practitioners have had to leave their homes to escape being arrested.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Yong, a postdoctoral candidate at the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Science, was sentenced to five years in prison after he was arrested in March 2004. He is currently detained in the First Ward, Qianjin Prison. The address is 106-1 Box, Chadian Station, Jingshan Railroad, Han'gu District, Tianjin City (zip code, 300481)

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yan Xiaohua, a Ph.D candidate at the Institute of Animal Science, Chinese Academy of Science, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison and was sent to the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region. She is currently detained there.

14. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuhua Leaves Home to Escape Illegal Arrest

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiuhua was harassed by agents from the Environmental Hygiene Office, City Construction Department, in Kaiping District, Tanshan City, together with the Tangshan City 610 Office. They said that they wanted to talk to Ms. Zhang Xiuhua. Now Ms. Zhang must leave her home to avoid further persecution.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Guangqiong, who lived in Longquanyi District in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, was arrested by police from the Longquan Town Station when she was delivering flyers in Longquan District at around 7:00 a.m. on February 21, 2006. Police from the first office ransacked her house and confiscated some Falun Gong books and truth-clarification materials. Fifteen days after she was arrested, Ms. Li was sent to the Xinjin Brainwashing Class by officials from the neighborhood administration office. Her physical condition is currently very poor.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Daying, 70, a family member of an employee of the Shengli Oil Field Company, was arrested by Wang Jichen, the head of the State Security Bureau in Binxi Department of the Shengli Oil Field. She was sent to the Dongying Brainwashing Center.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhou Yingjie, 40, is an employee of the China International Book Trade Company and works at the Book Importing Center. His colleagues say that he and his wife were arrested by police on February 26, 2006. Recently, Mr. Zhou and his wife were sent to a labor camp with a two-year forced labor term. The only person left in the house is their teenaged child.

On March 24, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhang Ruihong, who lives in Yaodu District, Linfen City, and Ms. Liu Yuxia, both employed by the Sanwei Group Company, were arrested by police from the Political Security Office of the Yaodu District Police Department. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Liu are currently detained at the Yaodu District Detention Center and Quwo Detention Center.

Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Duan Shengsheng (sentenced to three years in prison), Ms. Wang Ruo'e, Mrs. Zhang Lishan (tried), and Ms. Sun Li (sentenced to five and a half years in prison) were detained at the Shijiazhuang City Second Detention Center.

Mrs. Zhang Lishan insisted on doing the Falun Gong exercises and refused to obey the policemen's unreasonable orders. She was tortured by being handcuffed for two days. Her husband, Mr. Jiao Meishan was forced to leave their house to escape being arrested at home beginning in 2001.

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Xuebao, who lives in Yuhong District, Shenyang City, was reported to police that he was delivering Falun Gong truth clarification materials on the evening of April 5, 2006. He was arrested by policemen Ma Wei, Gu Xin, and others from the Weigong Station, of the Tiexi District Department. That night, Mr. Yang's wife, Mrs. Cai Minzhi and another practitioner who was at their house, were arrested by Yang Hai and nearly ten other policemen from the National Security Group, Tiexi Police Department.

Mr. Yang Xuebao's apartment was ransacked and a personal computer, CD-burner, truth clarification materials, a lot of cash (personal savings), address notebook, and other property was taken away. Now the couple is detained at the Tiexi Detention Center and the Shenyang City Detention Center.

On the night of March 29, 2005, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Shuhui's home was ransacked by police who arrived in four police vehicles after she came back home. After they confiscated some truth-clarifying materials, Ms. Wu was arrested and sent to the detention center.

Ms. Wu Shuhui was in the labor camp for four years. She was arrested again within a year after she was freed.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ma Xueqing was arrested by policemen from the Chunhai Station in Zhongshan District, Dalian City and was detained at the Dalian City Detention Center. Her case was transferred to the Zhongshan District Court on December 30, 2005. Three and a half months passed, and she was not released by the court, and no explanation or proof was offered (according to the Criminal Procedure Law, any criminal case should be completed within one month and no later than one-and-a-half months).

Ms. Ma's family members inquired after her many times, but the judge, Ma Limin, refused to give any information or supply an explanation.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Shulan held a hunger strike for forty days at the Xi'an City Ankang Hospital (a mental hospital), to protest the illegal persecution. After her family members protested, they were told that she could be released if they paid 2,000 yuan to the Yanta Police Department. But when her family prepared to pick her up, Ms. Sun Shulan was sent to the Chang'an County Workers' Infirmary Brainwashing Class by policemen from the Yanta Department and agents from the Yanta District 610 Office. Ms. Sun is being tortured there to this day. Recently, her father has been severely ill and Sun Shulan's husband went to the brainwashing center to tell them the facts and request her release. However, Ms. Sun was not allowed to come back to see her father because she refuses to accept the brainwashing.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Ping was secretly tried on April 5, 2006 by the Xigu District Court, in Lanzhou City. They failed to sentence her because they didn't have sufficient proof of any "crime". It was said that she would be tried again.

At around 3:00 p.m. on April 10, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Li Shengjun, Ms. Li Yufen, Ms. Li Shujie and Ms. Wang Xiaoyan, who are from the Zuo Prefecture, were arrested by officials from the Chifeng City 610 Office, the State Security Department, Police Station, Police Department and Balinzuo Prefecture CCP leader. The persecutors confiscated two computers from Ms. Li and Mr. Wu Guohui's houses. They also planned to arrest Mr. Wu Guohui, but failed.

On the afternoon of April 1, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Dabo, from Mengyin County, was arrested by security staff when he was clarifying the truth in the Yanzhou City Coal Mine. Now, he is detained at the Jining City Detention Center.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Liping, who lives in Chengguan District in Lanzhou City, was arrested secretly on her way home at 8:00 p.m. on March 18, 2006. News from different sources indicates that she was tortured in the Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center.

On March 28, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Qi, from Chongqing City was arrested by local police when he was at home in the Nanping District, Chongqing City. After he was released from Yongchuan Prison in 2004, Mr. Wang's mental state was sometimes clear and sometimes not. This is the second time that Mr. Wang was arrested after he was released from the Yongchuan Prison. It was said that he was reported by people who do not know the truth about Falun Gong.

On the afternoon of April 11, 2006, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Chen Junfeng was arrested soon after he met a person at the Affiliated Hospital of Guiyang Medical School. The person he met was named Wu Bo, a drug addict just released from the Zhongba Labor Camp.
