On April 26, 2006, the Christian Defense Coalition and the National Clergy Council held a press conference on Red Square at Georgetown University to once again call for the Bush administration to drop charges against Wenyi Wang.
Call for Bush Administration to Drop Charges against Wenyi Wang
According to the Christian News Wire, Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, commented, "We are extremely disappointed that the Bush Administration is bringing charges against Dr. Wenyi Wang that may result in her spending six months in federal prison. Her crime? Shouting out for President Bush to help stop the killing and religious persecution of Falun Gong. We believe these federal charges are sending a horrible message to the worldwide community concerning America's commitment to protecting religious freedom and liberties."
Mahoney said: "It is seems extremely hypocritical for the White House to roll out the red carpet for a world leader whose government supports the trampling and crushing of human rights. And, at the same time pursue prison time for a woman fighting to end religious persecution and violence. Our message is clear; President Bush, support religious freedom and the First Amendment, and drop all charges against Dr. Wang."
Rev. Rob Schenck, President of the National Clergy Council, said: "The Catholic, Evangelical, Orthodox and Protestant church leaders of the National Clergy Council appeal to President Bush and federal prosecutors to drop these charges. The President should reinforce the inalienable God-give rights of Wenyi Wang, not accommodate the harsh ego of a cruel dictator."
The Lawsuit Violates Human Dignity
Mahoney pointed out that the lawsuit against Dr. Wang violated human dignity and is a shame for the United States. He said: "The administration apparently doesn't care about the fate of Dr. Wenyi Wang and tens of thousands people like her. God has given her inalienable rights on which the United States is established. We believe that the right thing is to support her human rights and inalienable rights. The United States should provide protection and asylum for those persecuted people."
Stop the Atrocities of Organ Harvesting
Mahoney said: "Dr. Wenyi Wang stepped forward out of her conscience. As a human, as a person with religious belief, she spoke out for all the people. For the God-give freedom of every one of us, she publicly condemned the slaughter and the atrocities of organ harvesting. It is apparent that these atrocities have been exposed to the whole world. We know that these crimes existed long before, and we have now learned that they [the CCP] are committing these atrocities of organ harvesting from practitioners of this religious group in such a large scale."
Schenck said: "Even if you don't agree with their belief, everyone should step forward to stop the atrocities of organ harvesting. We know that the CCP does harvest organs, and the claims of Falun Gong are not a fabricated tale."
Mahoney said: "We understand that president Bush and other government officials need to maintain social order and adhere to normal etiquette. However, the background of this unusual appeal is such a brutal and inhuman suppression of human dignity and justice, and this fact should be taken into consideration. This is a very special factor."
Stand Together with Persecution Victims
Rob Schenck, president of the National Clergy Council, warned the Bush administration and the public by quoting the famous phrase of Pastor Martin Niemoeller: "First they [Nazi] came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Socialists and the Trade Unionists, but I was neither, so I did not speak out. Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew so I did not speak out. And when they came for me, there was no one left to speak out for me."
Schenck stated: "We have the responsibility to stand together with
those
persecuted and suppressed for their belief. Especially in the United
States, no
American citizens or any group shall be intimated or threatened by the
government for their belief. As a Christian leader, I must stand
together with
Dr. Wenyi Wang and Falun Gong practitioners. Though our belief is
different, on
this issue, we stand together shoulder by shoulder. This issue must be
solved."

Regarding the recent revelation of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and cremating their murdered bodies to destroy the evidence in concentration camps and forced labor camps throughout China, on April 21, 2006, more than half of the city councilors from the Tainan City Council co-signed a letter to US President Bush to strongly condemn and demand the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to immediately stop these inhuman acts.
The letter calls for President Bush to support the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) initiated by Falun Gong practitioners, and to invite credible international organizations to go to Mainland China to investigate the actual situation in all forced labor camps, including the brutal torture and abuse of Falun Gong practitioners.
Deputy councilor Guo Hsin-Liang, councilor Wang Ding-Yu, councilor Jiang Cang-Yuan and others from the Tainan City Council expressed their support to form an investigation group composed of Falun Gong practitioners and international human rights organizations to go to the mainland for a thorough investigation.
Guo Hsin-Liang expressed that there should be laws to regulate organ transplants. If the source of illegal organs can be eradicated, and the opportunities for people in other countries to go to Mainland for illegal organ transplants can be reduced, it should be able to effectively stop the CCP from killing dissidents for their organs to sell for profit.
He said that the CCP's actions have seriously violated human beings' safety, human rights and freedom of belief. It is an inhuman practice that breaches the International Human Rights Treaty. People from every democratic country should stand up to support the anti-persecution efforts.
Wang Ding-Yu said that of the 23 councilors, over half have co-signed the letter to support Falun Gong and stop the CCP's brutal killing.
He emphasized that the persecution of Falun Gong has violated human rights. The CCP regime should not persecute Falun Gong, but should allow Falun Gong to spread in the mainland. President Bush should make the voices of the world's anti-persecution heard to Hu Jintao during Hu's visit to the US.
Jiang Cang-Yuan said that Falun Gong is only doing exercises, but
has been
persecuted to such an extent. Practitioners have their organs harvested
and sold
for profit - it is really inconceivable. Anyone with a conscience will
oppose
such action. Rescuing people is like fighting fire. The international
human
rights organizations cannot remain silent any longer, but should
actively
organize investigation groups to go to the mainland for an
investigation. The
city council co-signed the petition to stop the persecution, and will
encourage
more colleagues to join them.

At noon on April 29, 2006, practitioners from the greater Philadelphia region held a rally at the Liberty Bell and protested the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) atrocities of organ removal from living Falun Gong practitioners in China. Three doctors gave speeches and condemned the Chinese doctors' inhuman action of organ removal under the CCP's persecution policy. A reporter from New York told the media that information from the CCP cannot be trusted.

The rally was hosted by Doctor Jinduan Yang of Jefferson Hospital. A reenactment of organ removal by the CCP from a living Falun Gong practitioner for profit caught the attention of many passers-by.
A doctor who works in Philadelphia said in her speech that all surgeries in the US must get the full consent from patients; this is an important rule. In China, there is no such rule. She collected signatures from 36 doctors to condemn the CCP's atrocities of organ removal from living people and called on the US government to request China to allow entry of independent investigators to investigate all labor camps in China.

Based on reports from the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), from 1991 to 1998, there were only 78 liver transplantation surgeries in China. But since the start of the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, the number increased quickly. There were 118 liver transplantations in 1999, 254 in 2000, 484 in 2001, 996 in 2002, and more than 3,000 in 2003.
A doctor pointed out that these numbers are shocking, "Many doctors in my hospital were shocked when I told them that a kidney transplantation patient needs to wait for only one month in China's organ transplantation centers. How is this possible? It is impossible in the US because donors are scarce. Many people have to go through several years of kidney dialysis waiting for a donor kidney. In China, the significant increase of transplants means a large increase in organ donors."
She also gave an example of liver transplantation. A person has only one liver and cannot live without a liver. A fresh liver is generally obtained from a person who died in a car crash or from someone who is brain dead. "In China, liver transplants have increased multiple times in recent years. Where are those donor organs from?" She asked.
The doctor also reminded people of the Nuremberg Code, which prohibits doctors to conduct experiments on live people.
A former reporter, Phil, pointed out that the CCP's means of controlling the Chinese people include killing, deceit, torture, and rape. Information from the CCP cannot be trusted. The CCP's slaughter must be stopped.
Passers-by were shocked upon hearing about liver removal from live people. One woman said, "It is sorrowful to have such crimes occur. I just know this. Why doesn't the media report on such brutality?"
Before the visit of Hu Jintao, 81 congressmen including four from Pennsylvania, co-signed a letter to President Bush and urged him to ask Hu to allow a thorough investigation of China's labor camps.
On the afternoon of April 25, 2006, Finnish Falun Gong practitioners gathered in the Helsinki city center to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the "April 25" appeal, exposing the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP's) crimes of harvesting organs from live Falun Gong practitioners. They called on the public to help to stop this inhumane brutality. Practitioners strongly urged the opening up of all CCP labor camps, prisons, mental hospitals and other relevant hospitals for members of the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG) to comprehensively and publicly investigate. At the same time, they supported the ten million courageous people who have withdrawn from the CCP and its related organizations.
Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang said, "On April 25, 1999, the Prime Minister back then had appropriately dealt with the peaceful appeal of tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners. The peaceful settlement was highly praised by the international community. However, not long afterwards, the Chinese Communist regime, led by Jiang, started to persecute Falun Gong. Seven years later, the wicked Chinese Communist dictatorship's inhuman genocide against Falun Gong practitioners has only become more severe. Recently, there has been worldwide exposure of the CCP's concentration camps, where Falun Gong practitioners' organs have been removed while they are still alive, sold illegally and their remains cremated to destroy the evidence. People are astonished at such a crime, so cruel that it is beyond imagination. Nevertheless, seven years later, when Falun Gong is spread widely in over 78 countries around the world and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party has triggered off the huge tide of Chinese people quitting the CCP, the head villain Jiang's daydream of 'eradicating Falun Gong within three months' has sent himself and the Chinese Communist tyranny onto the historical court of justice."
The majority of people passing by received truth-clarification materials. Many people were shocked at the CCP's atrocities, and expressed their support for Falun Gong practitioners by signing the petition. Some people patted practitioners on their backs and praised their good deeds.
After listening to a practitioner's explanation, one woman said she hoped that more and more people could know about this. She said she had a friend who worked as a journalist in a newspaper, and that she would tell her about this and ask her to write a report.
After learning the truth, a Christian man pressed his hands together in the Heshi gesture (a sign of respect), expressing his gratitude to practitioners and wishing them good luck.
A gentleman wearing a hat passed by. He took off his hat and bowed deeply, then left after saying thank you.
When the activity ended, two practitioners took a bus home and
openly talked
about their experiences and feelings on that day. A gentleman on the
bus looked
at the display boards while hearing the practitioners' conversation. A
practitioner told him that it was about the CCP's criminal history. The
gentleman said that he already knew about it. The practitioners asked
him
whether he knew about Falun Gong practitioners being detained in death
camps in
China. Unexpectedly, the man said that already knew about it as well.
He
expressed his anger and resentment towards the CCP's inhumane violence.
He said
he hoped that the world would condemn and protest the CCP together, and
not
betray justice in the face of money. While he talked, he seemed very
emotional,
until the bus arrived at the practitioners' stop, where he finally bid
them
farewell politely, with tears in his eyes.
