(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Bai Shikai, 65, was a resident of Luoqi Village in the Yubei District of Chongqing City. In late 2001, he went to Beijing to clarify the truth and was arrested. Mr. Bai was then sent to Yubei Detention Center and was sentenced to three years of detention.
During the persecution, Mr. Bai was very steadfast in his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. He did not yield to the demands of any authorities and was severely tortured as a result. A prison doctor injected him with poisonous drugs which damaged his nervous system, and he was paralyzed. Mr. Bai was very emaciated and in a life-threatening condition. At this point, prison officials became nervous and sent four guards to carry him home on December 30, 2002 (Lunar Calendar).
Mr. Bai's family had to take him to the hospital. The medical bill was tens of thousands of yuan. After leaving the hospital, Mr. Bai stayed at home to recuperate. After the imprisonment and torture, he was never able to take care of himself again. Mr. Bai passed away in August 2008.
