(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China contains persecution accounts which took place in 19 cities and counties in 16 provinces. In this report, 18 practitioners were subjected to brutal maltreatment during their detention and at least 20 practitioners were "illegally" arrested.
1. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Bo on a Hunger Strike for Over Two Months
Twenty-eight-year-old Ms. Wu Bo of Anshan City is held at the First Squadron, the Second Prison Division of Dalian Prison. She has been on a protest hunger strike for two months and presently is in very poor health.
2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Min, Mr. Zhang Tichao and Other Practitioners Severely Tortured at Daqing Prison
Ms. Li Min and Mr. Zhang Tichao are illegally detained in the Seventh Brigade and are suffering from symptoms of stroke. As a result of severe persecution, Mr. Zhang is paralyzed and unable to care for himself. Ms. Li Min, persecuted until rendered unconscious, has been unable to eat for seven days. The prison did allow her to receive medical treatment outside the prison.
Mr. Wang Shusen, Mr. Liu Hongtu, and Mr. Gong Haiou were beaten for refusing to wear prison uniforms. They were held in the Fifth Brigade of Daqing Prison. Mr. Wang, due to the beating, is not even able to sit up. Mr. Liu Hongtu's eyes are extremely swollen and Mr. Gong's mouth is also very swollen as a result of beatings.
3. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gu Yunpeng Severely Beaten at Daowai Detention Center
Mr. Gu Yunpeng from Zhaodong shouted "Falun Dafa is good," and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good," at Daowai Detention Center. The guards ordered the prisoners to beat Mr. Gu and force him to drink toilet water. The contaminated water caused him to develop diarrhea. When he got up to use the bathroom at night, the handcuffs and shackles he wore made noise. The inmates beat him yet again, causing him to defecate in his pants.
4. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yuzhen Sent to Detention Center
Mr. Chen Dianzhong from Shuangmiao Village, Lingyuan City was detained at the police station on May 14,2009. He was released after he paid a fine of 3,000 yuan. On May 20,2009, police broke into the home of Ms. Wang Yuzhen, 50 years old, from Tagou Village. They confiscated Teacher's picture and other Falun Gong materials. Ms. Wang was carried to the police car by force and sent to Lingyuan City Detention Center.
5. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Shuyi Detained at Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp
On May 6, 2009, Ms. Yang Shuyi was sentenced to forced labor and sent to Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, Changchun City.
6. [Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Dechun and His Wife Arrested
Around 8:00 p.m. on May 19, 2009, police from Chaoyang County Public Security Bureau broke into the home of Mr. Li Dechun and his wife Ms. Yuan Zhenci at Lalatun Village, Liucheng Town, Chaoyang County. The Internet Police searched their computer and discovered that the couple had visited Minghui.net (the Chinese version of Clearwisdom). They are being held at Chaoyang County Detention Center. 7. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chou Sihui Sentenced to Prison Term
Ms. Chou Sihui from Anshan City, Liaoning Province was sentenced to a twelve-and-one-half-year prison term. On May 19, 2009, she was sent to Dabei Prison, Shenyang City. Ms. Chou now suffers from paralysis and can only move her head. She is unable to eat or use the bathroom on her own.
8. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Yubo from Luozhuang District Arrested on May 20, 2009
9. [Changle County, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yongchun and Her Daughter-in-Law Arrested
Around 7:30 a.m on May 13, 2009, police from Qiaoguan Town Police Station went to Shuigoujian Village and arrested Ms. Liu Yongchun, 60 years old, and Ms. Meng, her daughter-in-law. They confiscated their Dafa books, truth-clarification materials and 3,200 yuan in cash. The police tortured them brutally for four days by using handcuffs, iron chairs, electric shocks, beating and kicking. On May 17, 2009, they were transferred to the Changle Detention Center.
10. [Luohe City, Henan Province] Ms. Gong Tianlan and Her Husband Mr. He Qing Arrested
On March 8, 2009, seven policemen from Yuanhui District National Security Division, Luohe City went to Weishi County, Henan Province and arrested Ms. Gong Tianlan and Mr. He Qing, her husband. They were taken to Weishi Public Security Bureau, and later to Weishi Hotel, where they were handcuffed for an entire night. On March 9, 2009, Ms. Gong was taken to Luohe Detention Center, where she is still being held.
11. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Province] Mr. Luan Ning Secretly Sentenced to a Four-year Prison Term by Xixia District Court
12. [Ge'ermu City, Qinghai Province] Ms. Tan Xiaoju Arrested Again
In 2006, Ms. Tan Xiaoju was subjected to one year in a forced labor camp. She was arrested again in 2007, and persecuted for 20 days at a brainwashing center.
On the afternoon of March 15, 2008, Ms. Tan was reported to police for telling people the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong at Jiale Supermarket. She was taken away by Wang Jianping, the head of the National Security Division. She was sentenced to two years in the Qinghai Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. Four months later, she was seriously ill and allowed to receive medical treatment outside prison and her family were able to take her back home.
On May 15, 2009, Ms. Tan was arrested again at Dabei Supermarket in Xining City, Qinghai Province. She is now locked up and being persecuted in the Qinghai Province Women's Forced Labor Camp.
13. [Qinzhou City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Huang Huizhen's Home Ransacked
On the evening of May 16, 2009, Ms. Huang Huizhen, nearly 80 years old, was walking in the Qinzhouwan Square after supper. She met patrol police and talked to them about Falun Gong and gave them truth-clarification materials. The patrol police instantly called the local police and Ms. Huang was subsequently taken to Hongyang Police Station, Qinzhou City. Later, her home was ransacked and her Falun Dafa books and truth-clarification materials were confiscated.

16. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Long Guande Sentenced to Prison Term
On May 20, 2009, Mr. Long Guande was tried by the Tianhe District Court, Guangzhou City. On the same day, the court read out the verdict, and Mr. Long was sentenced to a 7-year prison term. The whole process lasted no more than 20 minutes.

17. [Hubei Province] Mr. Zheng Zhihong Taken to a Brainwashing Center After Release from a Five-year Prison Term
May 20, 2009 was the day when Mr. Zheng Zhihong's five-year prison term was over. However, on May 19, police from the 610 Office went to Shayang and took Mr. Zheng to Tangxunhu Brainwashing Center, Hubei Province.
18. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Yubo and His Wife Arrested
On May 20, 2009, police from Shuangyuehu Police Station, Luozhuang District, Linyi City, Shandong Province, went to the workplace (the white porcelain plant in Luozhuang) of Mr. Wang Yubo and his wife, Ms. Zhu Huifang (a non-practitioner). They forcibly took away their car and the keys to their house. They drove the car to Mr. Wang's home, which they ransacked, and they confiscated Dafa books and truth-clarification materials. They arrested Mr. Wang and Ms. Zhu. Now Mr. Wang is being held at Linyi City Detention Center.

19. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Guihua Sentenced to Forced Labor Camp
On April 24, 2009, Ms. Zhou Guihua was arrested at her home in Linqu County, Weifang City by police from the Linqu County Domestic Security Division and Nanguan Police Station. Her home was ransacked and she was taken to Linqu County Detention Center. On May 21, 2009, Ms. Zhou was sentenced to a one-year term at Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

20. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Mr. Zhao Ting'er Taken to Brainwashing Center
Mr. Zhao Ting'er is about 60 years old and is a retired worker from Lanzhou Space Flight Equipment Plant, Anning District, Lanzhou City. Around 10:00 a.m on May 2, 2009, Mr. Zhao was arrested while eating with two other practitioners at a restaurant in Linxia City of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture. On May 16, 2009, the officials from the Anning District 610 Office took Mr. Zhao to Gongjiawan Brainwashing Center.
21. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Hong Tortured at Xindian Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Li Hong, 47 years old, was laid off from her job at a textile mill in Taiyuan. On April 26, 2009, she gave a truth-clarification brochure to a policeman in plain clothes. She was then taken to the police station and badly beaten. On April 29, Ms. Li was taken to Xindian Forced Labor Camp for a year-long prison term. In order to force Ms. Li to give up her belief in "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance," Liu Hongmei, a policewoman from the forced labor camp, ordered Chen Jie, a drug user, to beat Ms. Li badly. Ms. Li's chest, abdomen and legs were severely bruised as a result of the beating. She was also prohibited from sleeping for 24 hours.
22. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wu Mingjin and His Wife, Chen Xuyun Sentenced to Prison Term
Mr. Wu Mingjin and his wife, Ms. Chen Xuyun, from Shiyan City both worked at the Power Supply Bureau. On May 20, 2009, they were both sentenced to three-year prison terms. In the early morning of May 20, they were taken to Wuhan City. Their specific whereabouts are presently unknown.
23. [Jining County, Yunnan Province] Mr. Li Yunbo Arrested Again
Mr. Li was born in 1966 at Gucheng Village, Gucheng Township, Jining County. On April 24, 2009, officials from the Jining County Domestic Security Division and Public Security Bureau ordered the police at Kunyang Township Police Station to pretend to have a conversation with Mr. Li. In reality, they enticed Mr. Li to the Public Security Bureau with the intent to detain him. Thanks to the family's timely arrival, it was possible for Mr. Li to be released on bail.
At 2:30 p.m on May 11, 2009, police from Jining County Domestic Security Division and Public Security Bureau, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, summoned Mr. Li Yunbo to the Public Security Bureau and arrested him again. Mr. Li is held at Jining County Detention Center, located at Kunyang Town.
Previously, on February 6, 2005, Mr. Li was arrested and held in custody at the Second Detention Center in Yunnan Province for three years. During those three years he was so severely tortured that his eyesight deteriorated dramatically, six front teeth were knocked out, and he has a 20-cm-long scar on his left leg.
24. [Yunnan Province] Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen and Two Other Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen, a 52-year-old practitioner from Kunming University, was arrested on May 16, 2009. Her whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Qiang Hui, from Kunming University, was arrested in mid-April. His whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Wu Guiyou, from Songmin County, Yunnan Province, was arrested by police from Songmin County Public Security Bureau on April 12, 2009. His whereabouts are unknown.
25. [Fucheng City, Hainan Province] Ms. Sun Helan Taken to a Brainwashing Center
On May 8, 2009, Ms. Sun Helan was arrested while at work at Fucheng Hospital. She was taken to the 610 Office Brainwashing Center at Jinken Hotel in Haikou City. Mr. Fan Qifan is held at this center also.
