(Clearwisdom.net) There are about 160,000 people living in the Yuxi District, Yueyang City, Hunan Province. Two state-owned companies, Yuyang Chemical Factory and Changling Oil Refining Factory are located here. Since the Jiang regime started persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, officials in the Yunxi District have followed the central government closely and persecuted practitioners violently. As of today, many practitioners have been persecuted to death, dozens of practitioners sentenced to forced labor and prison terms, and hundreds of practitioners arrested, detained and sent to brainwashing centers. Yuyang Chemical Factory has also sponsored a city-level brainwashing center for "transforming" Falun Gong practitioners. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials took the opportunity to extort money and property from Falun Gong practitioners, totaling over one million yuan. Sometimes officials just robbed practitioners with no record of the items or amount taken. The persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is still going on in this area. Listed below are several cases of persecution:

1. On April 7, 2009, police from Yueyang Police Bureau arrested Ms. Guo Zhirong and Ms. Zou Xiangjun, practitioners from Yuyang Chemical Factory. Ms. Guo is now being detained in Yueyang City No. 1 Detention Center and Ms. Zou in Lixiang City Detention Center. Ms. Zou was tortured to the point of developing dangerously high blood pressure with serious complications. One month later, police released them on medical parole. But on June 3, officials from the local 610 Office and CCP officials from local State Security Bureau sent them to the notorious Zhuzhou City Baimalong Women's Labor Camp.

2. In March 2008, police from Yunxi Police Bureau arrested Mr. Zhang Jian, a practitioner employed at the Disease Prevention and Control Center, affiliated with Yunxi Health Bureau, and detained him in Yunxi Detention Center and later in Yuyang City No. 1 Detention Center for 9 months. Yuayanglou District People's Procuratorate and Court brought charges against him and sentenced him to a prison term. Mr. Zhang served two-years of forced labor from 2002 to 2004. During the past ten years, officials from Yunxi Health Bureau have detained him many times.

3. In October 2007, Mr. Xie Zhengqing and Ms. Zeng Shunlan were reported to the police. The police ransacked their home and arrested them. After interrogating them for two days straight, police detained them in Lixiang City Detention Center. 26 days later, officials from the detention center extorted 2,800 yuan from them and officials from the local 610 Office extorted a "deposit" of 20,000 yuan before releasing them.

4. In 2006, Ms. Huang Juxiu, a practitioner from Yuyang City Renmin Bus Company was sentenced to a four-year prison term. Ms. Chen Tingjie, a practitioner from Changling Oil Refining Factory, was sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year prison term.

5. In September 2005, police from Yunxi District Police Bureau arrested five practitioners. They are Ms. Dong Ailian, Ms. Xia Huilian, Ms. Cao Meizhen, Ms. Chen and Ms. Yang.

6. On April 28, police from Yueyang City Police Bureau, Jinpen Branch arrested Dafa practitioner Ms. Xin Jingwen. Ms. Xin Jingwen was tortured to death four days later.

It's quite difficult to report on every practitioner's experience under the persecution. Dear fellow practitioners: if you have more information about any of the events noted above, including details of practitioners' arrests, detention, facts on their being tortured, etc. or the names of the people who participated in the persecution, submit them to the Minghui/Clearwisdom website.
