(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 29 cities or counties in 12 provinces. In this report, 38 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Baoshan Illegally Arrested
Security officials arrested Mr. Zhao Baoshan at 9:00 p.m. on December 31, 2008 as he posted signs reading, "Falun Dafa is good" on residential buildings. They took him to the Yongchang Police Station and transferred him to the Mudanjiang Prison several days later.
Court officials had sentenced him to 12 years in prison almost seven years ago, on August 24, 2002. He went home on medical parole in November or December 2006 because of his weakened condition resulting from brutal torture. It is said that court administrators upheld the original sentence and ordered that Mr. Zhao serve the remainder of the unconstitutional 12-year sentence.
2. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Ms. She Xiuyan Suffers Torture-Induced Nervous Breakdown
Guan Jian, Jijia Township Police Station head in Jiutai City and personnel officer Zhao Dongliang arrested Ms. She Xiuyan on April 22, 2008. They took her to the Magangzi Custody Center and later transferred her to the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Jilin Province where she was held for one year. Ms. She's sentence expired on April 22, 2009, but officials extended her detention to May 2, 2009 without notifying her family. Since being at home, She Xiuyan has been in a dazed mental state due to the abuse at the forced labor camp.
3. [Beijing] Mr. Shang Weiwei and Ms. Xiao Yao Arrested
Practitioners Mr. Shang Weiwei and Ms. Xiao Yao from Panggezhuang Township, Daxing District, Beijing went to a village to run some errands on June 4, 2009. The police followed them as they handed out truth-clarification flyers along the way. The pursuers arrested the practitioners and took them to the Xingfeng Police Station in the Daxing District. Xiao Yao might be transferred to Beijing on June 5, 2009.
4. [Shanghai] Ms. Yang Manye Arrested
Ms. Yang Manye from Shanghai lives at No. 12, 55th Alley, Shuangshan Road in the Putuo District. The police broke her door down at 11:00 a.m. on June 6, 2009. They grabbed the head of Yang Manye's 16-year-old son, while 12 police officers ransacked the home. They took lots of private belongings including cash, and arrested Yang Manye.
5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Eight Practitioners Severely Mistreated
Zhifu District 610 Office agents and officers from the Nandajie Police Station arrested eight practitioners from the Laishan District and Zhifu District in Yantai City in late April 2009. The arrested include Ms. Ren Aihua, Ms. Sui Guifen, and Ms. Ren Cuizhu. The persecutors took two computers, cash, Falun Gong materials and other private belongings from the practitioners' homes.
6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Guizhen Taken to the Jinan City Detention Center
56-year-old Ms. Li Guizhen is a retiree from the Jinan City Electricity Supply Bureau. She was first held at the Huaiyin District Brainwashing Center in March 2001 and then held at the Jinan City Custody Center for two weeks in July 2001. She regained freedom after holding a nine-day hunger strike. Recently, Ms. Li was taken to Jinan City Detention Center at 5:00 p.m. on June 5, 2009.
7. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Ms. Fu Yuhe Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor
Ms. Fu Yuhe from Zunhua City was sentenced to two years of forced labor on June 5, 2009, and is now held at the Kaiping Forced Labor Camp in Tangshan City, Hebei Province.
8. [Susong County, Anhui Province] Ms. Liu Guirong Arrested
Officers from the Zhoutou Police Station in Susong County arrested practitioner Ms. Liu Guirong from Huangmei County, Hubei Province. It happened as she distributed Falun Gong materials in Zhoutou Town, Susong County, Anhui Province the evening of June 6, 2009. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
9. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Yu Hanmei May Face Arrest
35-year-old Ms. Yu Hanmei from the Gongqingcheng District in Jiujiang City and another practitioner were reported to the police when distributing Falun Gong materials in Jiangyi Township in the Gongqingcheng District. Their current circumstances are unknown. Yu Hanmei has not reported to work for the past several days.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chu Zhimei Faces Imminent Trial
Retiree Ms. Chu Zhimei from the Dadong District, Shenyang City was arrested when talking to people about Falun Gong on March 24, 2009. She is now held at the Shenyang City Detention Center and faces imminent trial. Chu Zhimei is 70 and was an accountant at the Zhongjie Friendship Machine Tool Factory in Shenyang City. Officers from the local Zhulin Police Station frequently harassed her. Her husband died as a result of chronic stress and constant fright due to the persecution.
11. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Shuping Arrested
Ms. Sun Shuping from the Dadong District, Shenyang City was reported when talking to people about Falun Gong at a construction site in that district. Officers from the Taochang Police Station arrested her and took her to the Shenyang City Detention Center.

12. [Chongqing] Ms. Wang Qin and Ms. Peng Lirong Sent to the Shabao Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Wang Qin and Ms. Peng Lirong from Changshou District, Chongqing were reported to the police when exposing the Communist Party's crimes to the residents of Linfeng Town, the Changshou District on April 16, 2009. Officers from Linfeng Town Police Station arrested them and sent them to the Shabao Women's Labor Camp in Chongqing City.
13. [Yicangshan, Shandong Province] Additional Information on the Arrest of Mr. Li Zengpu and Wife Xiao Guimei
The police arrested Ms. Xiao Guimei on May 24, 2009 as she handed out Falun Gong materials near the Forest Bureau. The police subsequently ransacked her home and arrested her husband Li Zengpu when he confronted the police about their illegal break-in and ransacking in broad daylight. Li Zengpu had been in police custody and sentenced to prison in October 2000 and June 2006. This is his third time in custody. Xiao Guimei has not completely recovered from the 2006 labor camp tortures.

Officers from Xingongdi Police Station in the Tiefeng District, Qiqihar City arrested Mr. Yang Licheng from Xingongdi, the Tiefeng District.
15. [Shanghai] Many Practitioners Held at the Zhangjiang Detention Center
It has been learned that these practitioners are possibly held right now at the Zhangjiang Detention Center in the New Pudong Area: Ms. Li Fuju, Ms. Ma Yueying, Ms. Gu Qunzhu, Ms. Zhao Yuping, Ms. Fa Zhengping, Ms. Lu Lingdi, Ms. Huang Guizhen, and Ms. Ji Jinhua.

16. [Miyi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liao Deying Arrested; Harassment of Others
Ms. Liao Deying from Binggu Town, Miyi County is in her 30s. Yang Jinhua and other officials from the Miyi Domestic Security Division arrested Liao Deying as she worked in the fields. The same group of police also harassed Ms. Zhang Kaiqiong, Ms. Zhang Qunying, Ms. Li Chengzhong and Ms. Xian Chaozhen at their homes that day.
17. [Xuchang County, Henan Province] Persecution of Mr. Lu Shunmin
Mr. Lu Shunmin from Wanlu Village, Lingjing Township, Xuchang County is in his 60s. Officers from the Politics and Security Section at the Xuchang County Police Department and from the Lingjing Township Police Station in Xuchang County arrested him. The arrest happened in late May 2002. The captors savagely beat him. Lu Shunmin was subjected to an unconstitutional trial during which four police officers grabbed him, raised his body in the air and then smashed him against the ground. He instantly lost consciousness. Mr. Lu was sentenced to seven years in prison and taken to the Xinmi Prison in Henan Province. He is now being held beyond term.
18. [Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhang Deming Held for More Than One Year
Gaobeidian City police arrested Mr. Zhang Deming on March 10, 2008 and are holding him at the Gaobeidian City Detention Center. Gaobeidian Court officials sentenced him to six years in prison on February 25, 2009. Mr. Zhang appealed on March 3, 2009.
Zhang Deming was previously held at the Jidong Prison in Tangshan City for three years, between October 2000 and 2004. He left home on June 7, 2006 so as to avoid arrest, but as noted above, he was again arrested.
19. [Boli County, Heilongjiang Province] Additional Information on the Arrest of Ms. Zhang Xia
Ms. Zhang Xia from Boli County was arrested in May 2009 and held at a custody center for 15 days. The officials promised to release her as soon as her family would pay 6,000 yuan ransom. Once the family paid the money and handed in required paperwork, the officials broke their word and transferred Zhang Xia to the Boli County Prison.

20. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Persecution of Ms. Pan Guilan
Officers from the Binhe Road Police Station arrested Ms. Pan Guilan from East Shagezhuang Village in the Laixi City Economic Development Zone. The arrest happened the evening of September 3, 2006 as she distributed Falun Gong flyers. The police took her photo in the evening and then locked her in a metal cage and forbade her to sleep. They ransacked her home the following day and held her for 11 days.
Pan Guilan was taken to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp on September 15, 2006 where she was held in solitary confinement and subjected to brainwashing. She went to sleep at midnight and was forced to do heavy slave labor daily between 5:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.

Ms. Wu Yuping was arrested on May 25, 2009 and taken to a detention center; officers from the Lin County Police Department participated in the arrest

22. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Bai Shunqi Vomiting Blood After Brutal Torture
Mr. Bai Shunqi from Shenzhou City is held at Division 5 at the Jidong Prison. He is vomiting blood following savage torture. He cannot eat anything and has sustained his life with IV infusions for the past two weeks.

23. [Yutian County, Hebei Province] Nine Practitioners Sent to a Detention Center and Forced Labor Camps
Recently, seven practitioners from Yutian County, Hebei Province were sent to forced labor camp(s), and two other practitioners are held at the Yutian Detention Center.
24. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhu Hong Arrested
Police officers followed and arrested 42-year-old Ms. Zhu Hong, a retiree from Chengdu Grinding Machine Factory on May 24, 2009 when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. They took her to the Fangcao Street Police Station and later took her to the Jinhua Town Brainwashing Center in Shuangliu. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
25. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xue Ziqing Held at Jinan City Women's Forced Labor Camp for Nearly 40 Days
26. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Jinhua Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison
Ms. Liu Jinhua, a teacher from the No. 1 Yongxing Middle School in Chenzhou City, was secretly sentenced to seven years in prison on June 5, 2009. Before, Liu Jinhua had been held at Yongxing County Detention Center for seven months.
Yin Shuiping and other Yongxing County 610 Office agents arrested Liu Jinhua in November 2008 and they subsequently ransacked her home, which caused about 10,000 yuan in damage and loss.

28. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Guihua Still Held in Detention Center
Ms. Wang Yuzhen from Goumenzi Town, Lingyuan City has returned home from police custody. Ms. Deng Suxia and Ms. Tian Xiulan, who were arrested by officers from the Dongcheng Police Department on May 13, 2009, have returned home. Ms. Zhang Guihua is still held at the detention center in the backyard of the police department.
29. [Heilongjiang Province] Guards at Division 3 in the Daqing Prison Still Mistreating Practitioners
The guards at Division 3 of Daqing Prison coerced Dafa practitioners to wear prisoners' uniforms and tried to take their pictures, but the practitioners refused to cooperate with them. Deputy division head Zhang Guosong struck practitioners Mr. Deng Qingshan and Ms. Wu Yanchun. He kicked Deng Qingshan's chest, causing severe pain, and in the end he locked Deng Qingshan in solitary confinement.

34. [Kaili City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Xu Mingying and Others Arrested
Officers from Wanxi Police Station arrested practitioners Ms. Xu Mingying, Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhou from Kaili City on June 5, 2009, who were handing out Falun Gong flyers in a residential neighborhood near a train station. Ms. Zhou returned home later on the same day.
35. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Ms. Jiang Xiumin and Ms. Sun Xiuyun Taken to Taihe County Custody Center
Ms. Jiang Xiumin, Ms. Sun Xiuyun and Ms. Liu Yuxia from Xiaoliying Village, Balijiang, Santa Town, Taihe County, Fuyang City were reported when distributing Falun Gong materials at 10 a.m. on April 17, 2009 [lunar calendar]. They were arrested and taken to Santa Police Station. Liu Yuxia's complexion was dark blue as a result of low oxygen in the blood caused by heart disease. The police were afraid of her dying in custody, so they demanded 1,000 yuan from her family before they would release her after three days.
Meanwhile, Jiang Xiumin and Sun Xiuyun have been taken to the Taihe County Custody Center.
