(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Xu Jiamei, a preschool education expert, is the daughter of Mr. Xu Baolian, the former head secretary of Hubei Province's National Government when China was under the Kuomingtang regime. Ms. Xu is an upright person. Although she is in her 70's, Ms. Xu is imprisoned for her belief in Falun Dafa.

Ms. Xu's father Mr. Xu Baolan was the Chief Executive of Jianshi County, Hubei Province, secretary general of the Hubei provincial government, and senator of Hubei Province. Mr. Xu was a patriot and actively participated in efforts to save the nation during the Sino-Japanese War. Yet, after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) came into power in China, the CCP sent Mr. Xu to Shayang Prison under false charges. At an early age, Ms. Xu learned to be honest and protect the innocent. She went to Beijing to appeal for her father's case and eventually had the CCP remove the false charges against her father. The CCP labeled Ms. Xu as "Right Wing" and persecuted her. In the early 1980s, the CCP's United Front Activities Department tried to coerce Ms. Xu and her mother to write a letter to Soong May-Ling (wife of Chiang Kai-Shek). The letter was supposed to invite them back to mainland China. Ms. Xu refused the CCP's request.

Ms. Xu devoted her life to education. In the 1980s, two well-known professors recommended her to the Hubei Provincial Normal School of Preschool Education, so she began her work there. She was awarded the title of "Outstanding Commissar of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference".

After her retirement, Ms. Xu began practicing Falun Dafa and followed the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

When the CCP began to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Xu went to the Hubei Provincial government and Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. She was detained by school officials and sent to a brainwashing center. In the following years, Ms. Xu used her resources to make truth-clarification materials, talked with people about the beauty of Falun Dafa and about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. Subsequently, she was illegally arrested. In 2001, the CCP court sentenced her to a four-year term at the Wuhan City Women's Prison.

In April 2008, the CCP conducted widespread arrests of practitioners in Shenzhen with the excuse of protecting the Beijing Olympic Games. Ms. Xu was abducted and sentenced to six years under false charges. She is currently detained at the Guangdong Provincial Women's Prison.

Ms. Xu is an elderly woman, and practices Falun Gong to be a good person. The CCP's brutal persecution has caused great suffering for countless practitioners and their families. Yet, like millions of other practitioners in China, Ms. Xu never gave up her belief, even when faced with the violent persecution. I appeal to kindhearted people to please pay attention to Ms. Xu's situation and request that the CCP release her.
