(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China contains persecution accounts which took place in 16 cities and counties in 6 provinces. In this report, 10 practitioners were subjected to brutal maltreatment during their detention and at least 19 practitioners were "illegally" arrested.

Mr. Mu Zhenluan was a 67-year-old resident of north Muzhuang Village, Liuzao Town, Dingzhou City, Baoding Area, Hebei Province. After July 20, 1999, Mu Zhenluan went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong and he was illegally detained in Yi County. Later, Jia Yunhu transferred Mu Zhenluan from Yi County to Dingzhou. He was tortured during the trip to Dingzhou, nearly losing sight in his left eye as a result. Mu Zhenluan was released after paying a fine.

Afterwards, Hou Yubo, who was in charge of persecuting Falun Gong in Liuzao Town, often prompted people to harass Mu Zhenluan at his home. Mu Zhenluan's home was ransacked and he was forced to give up practicing Falun Gong. Continued threats and harassment caused great harm to Mu Zhenluan's mind and body, and diseases which had disappeared through practice, reoccurred. He died in November 2003.

Mr. Li Qi is a 35-year-old employee of Qiqihar City Railway, premises section. On March 30, 2006, several police ransacked his home and arrested him. They confiscated one computer, two printers, and truth-clarification materials. A white gold necklace, a white gold ring, 800 yuan, and a cash bankbook of 20,000 yuan, were also taken by the police.

Police tortured Li Qi by hanging him up with both hands tied to a heater pipe, putting an electric baton into his mouth, delivering an electric shock to his head, pulling his feet shackles, and mercilessly beating and cursing him. After more than 4 hours, Li Qi passed out and was sent to Qiqihar City No. 3 Hospital for emergency medical treatment. After he regained consciousness, he was taken to north bureau police station for further torture. Li Qi passed out after his hands and face were wounded from beatings and his mouth bled for several days. After being tortured for seven days, Li Qi was detained at Qiqihar City No. 1 Detention Center.

In October 2006, Li Qi was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment by Ma Chongzhe, special case team leader of Qiqihar City Tiefeng Sub-bureau. On February 8, 2007, he was sent to Heilongjiang Province Tailai Prison for further persecution and remains there today.

On the afternoon of May 28, 2009, Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Xu Dongping and Ms. Zhang Xiufang went to clarify the truth at Shahe Town. Someone reported their activities and they were arrested by police of Shahe Town Police Station and detained at Dongfeng County Detention Center.

On the morning of May 29, 2009, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Hu Qiuxia of Taihe District, Jinzhou was arrested by the police. Her whereabouts is unknown.

Several collaborators in Diaobingshan City and were secretly working with police. The information they provided to the police caused a material production site to come under surveillance and resulted in the arrest of Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhang Yongsheng.

On May 25, 2009, Shanghai Jiading District Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Meng Fanzhen and her son Mr. Xie Hang were arrested.

On May 25, 2009, sometime between 7 and 8 p.m. Shanghai Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Ying Yu was arrested at her home. Her home was also ransacked by police.

At around 8:20 a.m. on May 14, Shanghai Police detained Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhu Pingbo as he was taking his grandson to school. He was forcibly taken to a brainwashing center.

On May 29, 2009, Dagang District Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Zhang Yunxia ,was arrested by officers of Shengli Police Station, while clarifying the truth to others. Her home was ransacked and truth-clarification material confiscated. She is being held at Dagang Detention Center.

At around 7:30 p.m. on May 29, 2009, several Falun Dafa practitioners of Zhaoyuan City were exchanging views at Ms. Lu Meie's home at Xinbei Village, Xiadian Town, Zhaoyuan City. Seven to eight plainclothes police broke into the home and arrested and tortured these practitioners. They were taken to Lingnan Gold Ore brainwashing center of Zhaoyuan City for further persecution. The names of these practitioners are: Ms. Lu Meie, Ms. Liu Xuezhen, Mr. Liu Shuwen and Mr. Wang Renqing. Further details are to be investigated.

On May 28, 2009, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Cui Guangtang, a man in his sixties, went to Wendeng development zone market fair to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. He was arrested by officers of Development Zone Police Station and Domestic Security Division, and is now held at Wendeng Detention Center.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Sun De'e of Zhanjia Village, Damujia Town, Gaomi City, 56 years old, went to Damujia Town market fair to clarify the truth and distribute information. She was reported and arrested by police of Damujia Police Station at 11 a.m. Several police then ransacked her home, confiscating Teacher's picture and several copies of Minghui Weekly. She is detained at Gaomi City Detention Center.

On May 30, 2009, Tangshan Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Jianhui went to Beijing on official business. He was asked to hand over his ID card when he checked into the hotel, and was then arrested by Beijing police.

Sometime after 10 a.m. on March 19, 2009, police of Zhuolu County Public Security Bureau arrested the following Falun Dafa practitioners: Mr. Cui Lu (from his job at Zhuolu County Ministry of Agriculture and Public Works); Mr. Ren Kai (from the Zhuolu County Land Management Office); Ms. Zhou Jianzhen (from her job as a high school English teacher); Ms. Cao Cuimei (from her job as a Zhuolu County Xiguan Primary School teacher); and Zhuolu County Xiguan Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhou Jianfeng. Five of the practitioners' homes were illegally ransacked and they were then sent to Langfang Detention Center (a brainwashing center).

Ren Kai, Zhou Jianzhen, Cao Cuimei and Zhou Jianfeng are held at Zhangjiakou Detention Center. Cui Lu has been on a hunger strike for many days, and held at a local county detention center.

On the morning of May 29, 2009, Mr. Song Huan of Guxian Township, Hejian City was reported for distributing truth-clarification materials, and was taken to Hejian City Detention Center.

Prior to the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Aiying of Shangjie District, Zhengzhou City was arrested by police of Zhongxin Road Police Station and the Shuguang Street Resident's Committee. She was tortured at Zhengzhou City Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp until on the verge of death. She sustained an obvious head injury. In early January 2009, she was sent to Shangjie District Staff Hospital, in a confused state of mind. During this period of time, her daughter Ms. Wang Yu was also arrested by the 610 Office agent, and her whereabouts is unknown.

On May 25, 2009, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Xu Weijun was arrested from his home by Ding Jianping and others from Ziyang Country Domestic Security Division. He is now being held at Yiyang No. 2 Detention Center.

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Luo Kaibi of Dingjia Town, Bishan County, Chongqing City clarified the truth to several students on May 28, 2009. She was reported and arrested by officers of Dingjia Town Police Station.
