(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' note: In both Western and Chinese cultures, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The universe will reward acts that are in harmony with this principle, while doing things such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.

The persecution of Dafa practitioners started on July 20, 1999. The very next day, many practitioners from Yuncheng city in Shanxi Province went to the provincial capital, Taiyuan, to petition for an end to the persecution and a declaration of Master Li's innocence. These practitioners were forced to return to Yuncheng. Mr. Cui Zhiheng, who was the Section Chief of the Public Security Bureau in Yuncheng, fined all of the practitioners who went to Taiyuan. He also fined those who were stopped at the train station. The fines ranged from 500 to 3000 yuan.

When some practitioners tried to explain to Mr. Cui what Falun Dafa was, he did not want to listen. Instead, he prepared paperwork to persecute the practitioners. The day he took his files on the practitioners to Taiyuan, he was killed in a car accident on his way back.

The deputy chief that worked with Mr. Cui as he interrogated the practitioners had a severe stomach ache and was taken to the hospital. When he started to interrogate practitioners again, he was sent to the hospital because of a swelling that appeared on his back. As a result, he decided to retire from the job.

Mr. Huang Xiaolan, director of the Domestic Security Division, and Mr. Lu Zhidao are political instructors in Lanshan County, Hunan Province, who dedicated themselves to persecuting Dafa practitioners for political gain. They sent practitioners to forced labor camps, fined them, and got practitioners fired from their jobs.

Over the last few years, Mr. Huang Xiaolan has suffered a great deal: he was seriously injured in an accident and ended up with an over 10,000-yuan medical bill.

Mr. Lu Zhidao inexplicably lost his balance and injured his right leg. Although he shelled out more than 100,000 yuan in medical bills, he lost the use of his right leg and was subsequently fired from his job.

In September 2004, villagers Mr. Hu Denong and Mr. and Mrs. Zhang Xuyuan in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, helped police officers Wang Yonghong, Li Zhongyu, and Tang Xianxian to arrest practitioner Ms. Mao Yuhua. This led to Ms. Mao being sentenced to forced labor for one year. Within one year Mr. Hu Denong was physically and mentally disabled and Mr. Zhang Xuyuan developed a mental aberration.

Chen Entai, an officer in the 610 Office in Dehui City, Jilin Province, suffered a stroke. He is over 50 years old and was involved in persecuting Dafa practitioners.
