"I loved the show. Very lovely. The performance I liked the most is the story in which the little girl's father is killed. It made me cry, it really touched me. To me, [it] is sad that these things happen in the world."

Ms. Aparicio is originally from Guatemala and now lives and works in San Jose. Describing herself as a pacifist at heart, she has experienced and learned from different cultures.

Ms. Aparicio feels that she understands more about traditional Chinese culture after watching Shen Yun. This was the first time that Ms. Aparicio has seen Shen Yun, "To tell you the truth, it blew my mind. Oh! It is so beautiful. I will come every year! I love this show."

Dance Teacher: "Shen Yun Inspires Me"

Dance studio owner and teacher, Ms. Day, attended the show with her mother on Saturday. Her immediate reaction was: "Very impressive--the costumes, the lighting and the dancers are amazing!"

Ms. Day explained that she, "learned a story of history--I just thought that it would be dancing and cultural. But it's a lot more than just dancing, but it's the history."

Her mother, Ms. Burns, has worked for several years with costuming, and works with costuming in her daughter's studio. Her first comment was that the show was, "Absolutely phenomenal! I am enjoying it very much. The costumes are beautiful--I am a costumer at heart. The costumers are great and everything flows on the stage--the dancers are phenomenal--absolutely phenomenal."

Ms. Burns said, "Its just fantastic. The costumes are just great and how quickly they transitioned from one scene to another in the same group--it's great."

An integral part of Shen Yun's performances are the backdrops, that are admired by audiences everywhere. "I am very impressed with that. In the war scene with the fire ["Loyalty of Yue Fei"], ... it really helps with the story. You get into the performing arts, telling a story. So the backdrop really helps with the storyline--it really does."

Ms. Burns said that she was moved by the performance, "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution" that touches upon the present day persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China. "When they came out and took the father away. That really ... that's something that is present day--that got to you. We don't live like [this]. And for people who do, it definitely touches your heartstrings."

Ms. Day added that Shen Yun "inspires me--it's bigger than just what I know--it's around the world--it's exciting."
