(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wang Xiulan from Jinzhou District, Dalian City was illegally sentenced to seven years in prison by the Ganjingzi District Court in Dalian City.
Ms. Wang, in her fifties, was born in Wangjia Town in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. She previously taught at the Wangjia Elementary School before she retired and moved to Jinzhou District in Dalian City.
On the morning of April 5, 2008, Ms. Wang was arrested by officers from the Dafangshen Local Police Station in the Ganjingzi District of Dalian City, for telling people the truth about Falun Gong. She was later taken to the Yaojia Detention Center in Dalian City.
While Ms. Wang was at the center, police officers ransacked her home and confiscated some of her personal property, including a copy of the book Zhuan Falun. The police later submitted the book to the court as evidence that Ms. Wang was a Falun Gong practitioner.
The police did not inform Ms. Wang's family that they had arrested her, nor did they tell the family about her upcoming court trial. Everything that the officers did was carried out in secret.
When Ms. Wang's family members heard that she had been arrested, they went to the local police station to inquire. But the only one who gave them a straight answer was the court gate guard who said that Ms. Wang had been served a judgment and was subsequently sentenced to seven years in prison. When Ms. Wang's family members went to the detention center to further inquire, the wardens refused to answer their questions.
We hope that the various international human rights organizations and kind people from around the world will pay attention to this matter.
