1. [Tianjin] Sun Guangqi Arrested
Mr. Sun Guangqi, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Yanzhuang Village, Huanghuadian Township, Wuqing District, Tianjin was posting truth-clarification materials in Yushizhuang Village, Huanghuadian Township on the night of January 12, 2009. He was reported and taken to Huanghuadian Township Police Station by the police. His home was ransacked and his exercise tapes were confiscated. On the morning of January 13, Sun Guangqi was taken to Wuqing Detention Center.

2. [Yingkou, Liaoning Province] 70-year-old Yin Zengye Suffers Torture
Ms. Yin Zengye, over 70 years old, is a Falun Dafa practitioner of Zhanqian District, Yingkou City. She was arrested by police when she clarified the truth at Laobian District, Yingkou in mid-September 2008. Yin Zengye is now being detained in Dalian.
3. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Sun Shujie Missing for Over a Month
Ms. Sun Shujie, a 60-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Shuangyashan City, was arrested after leaving a fellow practitioner's home on December 7, 2008. Her whereabouts are unknown.
4. [Tianjin] Persecution of Geng Dong
On July 28, 2008, police arrested Mr. Geng Dong while he was taking care of his wife and new born baby in the hospital. He was detained for a month and then sentenced to one year of forced labor before being transferred to the No. 3 Brigade of Shuangkou Forced Labor Camp. Geng Dong is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
5. [Taicang City, Jiangsu Province] Six Practitioners Arrested
On January 6, 2009, Taicang City 610 Office agents arrested six practitioners in Taicang City, Jiangsu Province: Ms. Jiang Fengying, Mr. Zhang Haiquan, Ms. Tao Yun, Ms. Zhu Xiuying and Mr. A Fu.
6. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Fan Yingzhen Detained at Jiangshuiquan Forced Labor Camp
On the morning of December 19, 2008, Ms. Fan Yingzhen, a Falun Gong practitioner from Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province, was deceived by the local police into going to the Puji Police Station. She was later detained at Jinan Detention Center in Zhonggong Town, Jinan. Ms. Fan was recently sentenced to one year and three months of forced labor at Jiangshuiquan Forced Labor Camp in Jinan.

8. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Pang Manli and Jiang Junqi Detained in Jiaozhou City Public Security Bureau
Ms. Pang Manli and her husband Mr. Jiang Junqi, Falun Dafa practitioners from Dadian Village, Jiaodong Town, Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province, were arrested and detained in the Lige Township Police Station. Police transferred them to a detention center after many of their family and friends gathered at the Police Station day and night to request their release.

In early January 2009, Ms. Zhao Shengjiu, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province, was reported when she was explaining the truth about Falun Dafa. She was later sent to Liaoyang City Detention Center, where she is currently being held.

[Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Zhang Yaqin and Shu Fa Arrested
Xiangtan City 610 Office police officer Xu Fuming, An Zuoqing and others from the Xiangtan City Police Station forcibly took Xiangtan City Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhang Yaqin and her daughter Ms. Shu Fa from their home at noon on December 30, 2008. Their current situation is unknown.
11. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Zhang Duoyi Arrested
Mr. Zhang Duoyi, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Lanzhou Veterinarian Research Institute, was followed by special agents many times during his efforts to tell others about the persecution. Lanzhou City Police took him from his dormitory on January 12, 2009. His computer, printer, truth-clarification materials, consumable materials, bankbook and other belongings were confiscated.
12. [Shanghai City] Update on Ma Guobiao's Family
Jiading District Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Ma Guobiao and two family members were put on secret trial in the Jiading Court on January 12, 2009. Ma Guobiao was sentenced to six years of imprisonment and his mother was sentenced to four years. His father returned home on the same day.
13. [Shihezi, Xinjiang] Min Chunzhen and Nie Guihua's Whereabouts Unknown
Police arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Min Chunzhen and Ms. Nie Guihua of Dongye Town Construction Team, Group No. 122, Shihezi, Xinjiang while the practitioners were clarifying the truth in Group No. 132 on April 1, 2008. They were then taken to Shihezi City Police Station. Their whereabouts are unknown.
14. [Shihezi, Xinjiang] Xing Guilian Detained
Ms. Xing Guilian, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Group No. 121, Shihezi, was arrested when she was telling people about the persecution. She has been sentenced to two years of forced labor.
15. [Wuhan, Hubei Province] Many Elderly Practitioners Harassed
At approximately 11 a.m. on January 6, 2009, seven to eight people from the Wuhan University security department and the Luojiashan Police Station, with the help of the residents'committee office,entered into Ms. Huang, Ms. Xia and two to three other elderly Falun Dafa practitioners' homes, with the excuse of needing to check residents' permanent addresses. They also confiscated Falun Dafa books, cassettes, an MP3 player, and other items.

17. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Persecution of He Kunlin's Family
Mr. He Kunlin and his wife Ms. Zhou Shenghua are Falun Dafa practitioners in Yanlizhuang Village, Beiguan, Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province. The court sentenced Mr. He to 10 years and his wife to seven years in 2007. Mr. He's mother, Ms. Zhai Suying, 63 years old, and son Wang Wang (now age 13 and in junior high school) had been supported entirely by Mr. He's younger brother.
At the end of 2008, Mr. He's younger brother died in a car accident and the only financial support for the family was gone, leaving their child and mother in dire straits.
18. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Zhao Yuzhen, Wang Wenqiang and Xing Ruifen Detained in Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Zhao Yuzhen is a Falun Gong practitioner from Jinzhai Village, Yuqiuhu Office, Gaotang County, Liaocheng District, Shandong Province. On December 31, 2008, Yuqiuhu police arrested her and locked her up in a detention center. She has been denied family visits.
Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Wang Wenqiang of Sanshilipu Township and Ms. Xing Ruifen of Jiangdian Township have been sentenced to forced labor. Wang Wenqiang was taken to Shandong Province No. 2 Forced Labor Camp on October 17, 2008.
19. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Wang Yushen Arrested
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Yushen was arrested on December 31, 2008, when she clarified the truth in Hebei Province.
20. [Ningxia] Pingluo Prison Guards Torture Dafa Practitioners
Pingluo Prison has been torturing Dafa Practitioners Mr. Xie Yiqiang, Mr. Luo Xiangdong, Mr. Zhao Yuhu and others. Mr. Jiang Tao, Mr. Qiao Jianhui and Mr. Zhao Lin are now being detained in a strictly controlled prison area; Mr. Wang Jiaming is being detained in an area designated for sick and disabled inmates. He is not allowed to go out of his cell or have contact with others. Mr. Wang and Mr. Zhao are forced to perform labor, peeling beans and making fake eyelashes every day to increase the prison's profits.
Xie Yiqiang and Zhao Lin are detained in the No. 9 Team. Because they refuse to recite prison rules and persist in practicing Falun Dafa exercises, they are locked up in "small cells" and are only allowed to go back to their cells for sleep after 1 a.m. Also, because they do not answer during roll call, prisoners twist their arms, beat their faces, and force them to stand for a long time.
21. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Shen Xuewu Arrested by Mafangshan Police Station
On January 14, 2009, officers from the Mafangshan Police Station arrested Mr. Shen Xuewu, a Falun Dafa practitioner and the Director of the Self-Study Exam Institute at Huazhong Technology University, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, for telling people the truth about Falun Gong.
22. [Tianjin City] Additional Information on Persecution Suffered by Gong Jingwang and Wei Lianhua
Majiadian Police Station arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Gong Jingwang of Cuihuangkou Town, Wuqing District, Tianjin City and five local practitioners, including Ms. Wei Lianhua, Ms. Sun Boyun, Ms. Yu Xiuping, Ms. Zhang Qiuyan and Ms. Qin Yueli, after they were reported for handing out truth-clarification materials in Majiadian Town, Baodi District. They were then sent to Baodi District Detention Center.
Jingwang's elderly brother delivered a down-filled winter coat (worth over 200 yuan) and 200 yuan in cash to the detention center, but these were taken by Baodi District Detention Center guards for their own use. Moreover, they made Gong Jingwang sleep on a wet and cold floor for more than nine months, which caused his whole body to erupt with scabies. Afterwards, Baodi District Court sentenced him to four years of imprisonment. He is now being detained in Gangbei Prison, Tianjin.
Baodi District Court sentenced Wei Lianhua to five and a half years and sent her to Lingzhuangzixi Women's Prison in Nankai District, Tianjin City. In an attempt to make her relinquish her practice, police ordered prisoners to beat her up and press a pillow down on her face to prevent her from calling out for help. Wei Lianhua conducted a hunger strike to protest the persecution and consequently suffered brutal force-feedings.

23. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Shi Yejun and Zhang Zimei Arrested
Meixi District Public Security Sub-bureau police arrested Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Shi Yejun (59 years old) and his wife Ms. Zhang Zimei (55 years old) of Meixi District, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province.
24. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Several Falun Dafa Practitioners Sentenced
The Bolin District Court sentenced Taiyuan Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Wang Zhigang and Mr. Liu Yuzhu to three and four years respectively. They have a submitted appeals to the Taiyuan City Intermediate Court.
The Yingze District Court, Taiyuan City has sentenced Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Liang Linsheng, Ms. Li Yan, Ms. Wei Sufen and Mr. Zhang Jinsheng to seven years. They have submitted appeals to the Taiyuan City Intermediate Court.
The Yingze District Court has sentenced Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Zhou Hua, Mr. Zhou Zhen and Mr. He Junli to three years.
The Yangqu County Court has sentenced Mr. Zhao Xikuan to three and a half years.
The Yangqu County Court has sentenced Ms. Du Guilan, 76-years-old, to three years.
25. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Shi and Zhang Arrested
Ms. Shi and Zhang of the Meixi Forestry Bureau, Yichun City were arrested on the night of January 14, 2009.
26. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liang Detained
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liang of Baiyun District, Guangzhou City was detained in January 2009.
27. [Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province] Xu Huiying Sent to Forced Labor Camp
On the night of December 30, 2008, officers from the Gaoqiao Police Station arrested Ms. Xu Huiying of Baigou Town, Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province from her home. Her home was ransacked and Falun Dafa books and materials confiscated. Xu Huiying was then taken to the Gaobeidian City Detention Center.
On January 13, 2009, Ms. Xu was sent to Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labor Camp for further persecution.
28. [Hebei Province] Gao Junhong Suffers Torture in Hebei Province Women's Prison
Police sent Ms. Gao Junhong, employed by Bank of China, to Hebei Province Women's Prison on July 21, 2008. She is suffering brutal torture, being allowed only a steamed bun every three to four days, being deprived of sleep at night, and having cold water poured on her body.
29. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Xiu Yanpeng Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Xiu Yanpeng was arrested in May 2008 and has been sentenced.
30. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Police Arrest Over Ten Practitioners
Mr. Zhang's home in Tangwang Town, Licheng District, Jinan City, was ransacked by over 30 police from the Licheng District Public Security Bureau and the local 610 Office. Over ten Falun Dafa practitioners were arrested at the same time. They are now being held in Zhonggong Detention Center.
31. [Linshu County, Shandong Province] Chen Xuekai Sentenced to Prison
At around 8 a.m. on August 5, 2008, police abruptly took Mr. Chen Xuekai of Zhengshan Town, Linshu County from his home. Several Falun Gong books were confiscated. Mr. Chen has been sentenced.
32. [Leshan, Sichuan Province] Hu Runlian Arrested
In January 2009, Ms. Hu Runlian of Leshan, Sichuan Province was arrested when she was clarifying the truth. The Falun Dafa materials she had with her were confiscated.
33. [Sichuan Province] Su Lijuan Tortured at Miyi Detention Center
On January 7, 2009, Ms. Su Lijuan was taken to Miyi Detention Center. Because she refused to cooperate with the persecutors and wear the required prison-issued clothing, guard Huang ordered criminal inmates to beat her with a bamboo strip. On the night of January 13, she was tortured on the Tiger Bench.
34. [Heilongjiang Province] Harbin Women's Drug Rehabilitation Center Extends Liu Li's Term
Ms. Liu Li, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Zhaodong, has been held at Harbin Women's Drug Rehabilitation Center. Her term was due to expire on January 11, 2009, however, because she refused to write in a "transformation" diary and recite the prison rules, her term was extended for 29 days.
