Li Guiping is a Falun Gong practitioner from Beijing. She was illegally sentenced to 12 years in prison for refusing to renounce her practice of Falun Gong, and has been held in Beijing Women's Prison since 2000. In late 2006, during the prison's New Year celebration, she called out loudly, "Falun Dafa is wonderful!" The guards locked her in a small cell for eight months. Afterwards, she was sent to the No. 3 Prison Ward for stricter control. For a long time, her family members could not get any information on her. During her eight years in confinement, she has never compromised to the Chinese government.
Yu Peiling is a Falun Gong practitioner from Beijing. She used to work as a doctor at Xuanwu Hospital. She is currently being confined in the 8th Ward of Beijing Women's Prison. Because she refused to give up practicing Falun Gong, the guards severely beat her. She is held under strict control.
