(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, it has been revealed in the media that officials in China have begun a large-scale campaign to destroy evidence of dozens of organ-harvesting concentration camps detaining Falun Gong practitioners throughout the country. The practitioners are being cremated immediately after the procedure, in order to hide all evidence. These are the reasons that prompted a handful of practitioners to gather at a busy street corner in downtown Victoria on Saturday. With banners, flyers and petitions in hand, they collected signatures and exposed the news of the 36 death camps operating in China to many passersby.

Signing the petition to help end the persecution

People were horrified at the news. Some expressed the wish to help out by writing letters to President Bush before Hu Jintao's visit to the US next week. Others said they were going to stop buying products made in China. Many were appalled at the intensity and magnitude of China's human rights abuses and suggested a boycott of the Olympic Games. Many people signed their names to condemn the Chinese Communist Party's atrocity.

One man from Ethiopia who signed the petition was well aware of the evils of communism. He said that after the communists gained power in his country they took his family's home and land away. When he and his three brothers tried to regain what rightfully belonged to them, his brothers were shot dead and he was shot in the lower legs, with the result that his legs had to be amputated at the knee. A young Chinese man who knew about the persecution of Falun Gong but wasn't aware of the death camps, said he would help spread the word among his Chinese friends, and left with a handful of flyers.

The preliminary investigation reports by the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong and the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong show the urgency to not only to condemn this atrocity but to prevent even more people from being slaughtered. This merely reflects the depth of the seven-year long persecution of Falun Gong launched by the then-leader, Jiang Zemin. Such genocide should not take place in this 21st century.

Victoria Falun Gong practitioners urgently appeal to the government and all kind-hearted people to help stop this genocide now.
