On June 14, 2005, four Falun Dafa practitioners from Zunyi City were sentenced to prison. Practitioner Wu Mingju was sentenced to eight years in prison, Ouyang Yiping and Chen Shujing were both sentenced to seven years, and Yuan Yifa was sentenced to five years in prison.

In 2004, after practitioner Ms. Ran Suhua from Duyun City escaped from a brainwashing center, she started to wander around the country to avoid harassment. Recently, it was learned that in April 2005, while she was living in an apartment in the Wangjiang District of Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, police staff from Guiyang City Public Security Department broke into her room and arrested her again. There is no current information available about the whereabouts of Ms. Ran.

Practitioner Mr. Hu Farong used to work at the Yongxing Machinery Equipment Factory of the Guihang Group Ltd. He refused to write the so-called three statements and continue to practice Falun Dafa. As a result, he was forced to move from place to place to avoid persecution. The factory also stopped Mr. Hu's salary all together. His more than 30 years of working in that factory was treated as nothing at all. In June 2005, Mr. Hu was arrested while passing out truth clarification materials in the Huang Mountains area. Mr. Hu was later transferred back to his work unit. Police offices also came to ransack his home. Currently, Mr. Hu is being detained in the Lannigou Brainwashing Center in Guiyang City.

On April 14, 2005, practitioner Li Xiaobo was brought to appear at the Jinjiang District Court after being held in the Pi County Jail for 13 months. No notice was given to Li Xiaobo's family members and no family members were allowed to attend the court. Only Li Xiaobo and the judge were present.

Some time in June, it was learned that Li Xiaobo, together with another practitioner (probably practitioner Ceng Tao), was sentenced to eight years in prison.

On July 14, 2005, practitioner Ms. Liu Fang from Dehui City was sentenced to one and half years in prison and sent to the Hezuizi Forced Labor Camp in Changzhun City. The police didn't inform Ms. Liu's family about her prison term until two days after she had already been sent away.

Recently, many posters about quitting the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) appeared in Muleng Town in Muleng. Local police officers suspected that these posters were created by Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhao Liping and her daughter. Around noon on July 15, 2005, police from the Bei Street Public Security Station suddenly broke into her house and started to search. They found some Dafa-related materials and then arrested Ms. Zhao and her daughter at the scene. Ms. Zhao and her daughter were first detained in a local detention center. Later, they were transferred to the Muleng City Jail.

Around 1:30 p.m. on July 21, 2005, police officers from the Hexi Village Public Security Station of Muleng City suddenly rushed into Dafa practitioner Ms. Gao Yuqin's house in Erzhan Village. They asked her whether or not she still practiced Falun Gong. When Ms. Gao said, "Yes," she was immediately taken away from her home and brought to the Hexi Village Public Security Station. When the police officers reported this case to their superiors, they purportedly lied by alleging that Ms. Gao Yuqin's family members and their neighbors tore off the police officers' clothes and obstructed the police officers' duties. As a result of such false allegations, Ms. Gao was detained in the Muleng City Jail. Despite their vile scheming, the allegations made up by the police officers didn't hold up at all, because local village people were contacted to make eyewitness accounts for the case.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yang Jianjun is 43 years old. He is a senior engineer at the Shengli Oil Drilling Computer Center. Currently, Mr. Yang is being held in the Shengli Oil Drilling Detention Center. Mr. Yang was once beaten up so seriously that he lost his conscientiousness and had to have emergency treatment at the hospital. Those same officials are planning to sentence Mr. Yang on July 28, 2005.

Sixty-four-year-old practitioner Ms. Liu Yulan was forced to leave her home. She came to Shengli Oil Drilling a while ago and was arrested by police. She has been detained in the Shengli Oil Drilling Detention Center ever since her arrest. Currently, Ms. Liu is going on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention.

Practitioner Ms. Xu Xiangfen was detained for more than 20 days in a brainwashing center because she posted truth clarification materials. Ms. Xu went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention and became extremely weak. She was brought to the hospital for treatment. Currently, Ms. Xu's family is taking care of her in the hospital. Ms. Xu's personal computer and some other materials had been confiscated.

Recently, it has been learned that one practitioner is being held in the Hongkou District Detention Center in Shanghai City. The practitioner is most probably Ms. Wu Bingqing, who was arrested on June 20, 2005.

Ms. Wu's family lives in the Wujiaochang Community in the Yangpu District. In 2001, Ms. Wu was sentenced to two years in prison just because she tried to make copies of truth clarification documents. She was mentally tortured in the prison by being forced to attend brainwashing sessions. After she was released, police officers from the Wujiaochang Public Security Station, government officials from the 610 Office, as well as people from her local community council kept harassing her. Nonetheless, Ms. Wu always maintained a righteous mind and tried to clarify the truth openly and aboveboard.

Around June 20, 2005, Ms. Wu was arrested and people lost contact with her. There is still no news of her whereabouts.

Practitioner Zhao Laiqin is from Dachang Autonomous County for Hui minority people. She came to Beijing at the end of January 2005 to clarify the truth and was arrested by police. Ms. Zhao's family has learned that Ms. Zhao is being held and tortured inside the No.7 Branch of Public Security Department in Beijing City. The family had once gone to visit Ms. Zhao but was refused to see her. No further information about Ms. Zhao's current situation is available.

Around 5 p.m. on July 25, 2005, dozens of police officers from the Maonan District Public Security Department in Maoming City rushed into practitioner Huang Xianfeng's house and told Ms. Huang's family that they had come to take Ms. Huang into custody. The family asked for the reason and was told that Ms. Huang was passing truth clarification materials around. Without any due legal procedure, Ms. Huang was thus taken away from her own home.

In the morning of July 19, 2005, practitioner Liu Shaowu from Zhuangjia Village, Tangtu Town, Fushun City, was arrested by police officers from the local Tangtu Town Public Security Station and some other government officials including Han Huilin, the general secretary of the Tangtu Town Politics and Law Committee. Liu Shaowu was sent to the Luotaishanzhuang Brainwashing Center in Fushun City.

Practitioner Ms. Qi Yaru, around 40, was waiting for a bus to send her child to school. They were near the front entrance to the Liushun Public Security Station in the Xiangfang District of Harbin City. The police officers from the station came out and arrested her without any reason. Ms. Qi was sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Qi has already been tortured so severely in the prison that she can hardly move her lower body, and two of her front teeth have been knocked out

Ms. Qi is responsible for the care of her 86-year-old father-in-law. She also has a 15-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl. Her husband has lost his job and it has become impossible for Ms. Qi's family to maintain a normal life. Recently, Ms. Qi's husband and their children have gone to the Xiangfang District to ask for the release of his wife and their mother.

Around 4:30 p.m. on July 22, 2005, practitioner Yang Fuyi from Sunwu County went to clarify the truth to the husband of a former practitioner who had recently been brainwashed and had changed her mind about Falun Gong. On the way back, police officers Wang Shuangtong and Liu Wei from the local 610 Office arrested Yang Fuyi. Afterwards, the police officers went directly to Yang Fuyi's home and took away a personal computer. Currently, Yang Fuyi is being held in the Sunwu County Detention Center.

In June 2005, former Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lin Hannan from Egang City, Hubei Province, was arrested and sent to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center. In the center, Ms. Lin gave out the names of many other practitioners who had had contacts with her before. As a result, four practitioners from Ezhou City were arrested on July 24 and 25, 2005. Here is some information about the four practitioners:

Ms. Pan Zhenghui, around 60 years old, retired worker from Egang City

Ms. Wang Hanmin, around 50 years old, retired worker from Datong Company in Ezhou City

Ms. Song Chunmei, around 45 years old, retired director of Ezhou City Credit Union

Ms. Liu Xiuying, around 55 years old, had already been sentenced twice before.

Mr. Wang Hanmin, Ms. Song Chunmei and Ms. Liu Xiuying are currently being held in the No. 2 Building at the Lianhuashan Brainwashing Center in Ezhou City, while Ms. Pan Zhenghui is being held inside the Xishan Public Security Department in Ezhou City.

Practitioner Mr. Que Shanzhong started to cultivate in Falun Dafa in 1997. He benefited tremendously in his physical health as well as in his mental well-being through his cultivation. Mr. Que also tried very hard to spread the good news about Falun Dafa throughout his hometown. On July 22, 1999, Mr. Que went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested by police and detained for 15 days. On May 11, 2000, when Mr. Que participated in a group of practitioners who were clarifying the truth to the public, he was detained for one month. In August of that same year (2000), Mr. Que was arrested again and sentenced to one year in prison. He was detained in the Shanghang County Detention Center.

Practitioners Ms. Li Zhaojin and Ms. Qiu Kaiyuan started to cultivate Falun Dafa in June 1999. One month later, they went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Ever since then, these two practitioners have always been studying the Fa, clarifying the truth and exposing the evil. Many times, security agents as well as local officials from the community council have gone to harass these two practitioners.

On July 6, 2005, the three practitioners mentioned above were arrested. Currently, they are being held in the Shanghang County Detention Center.

Practitioner Li Qingke from Harbin City of Heilongjiang Province was recently arrested while passing out truth clarification CDs. Currently, he is being held in the Harbin City Detention Center.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Weiguang from the Babaijiong Community in Daqing City was working in a cafeteria in the morning on July 27, 2005, when suddenly, police officers from the local Babaijiong Public Security Station came into the cafeteria and started to check each employee's ID. Ms. Zhang told the police that she had left her ID at home and that she needed to go home to get it. The police officers said that they didn't need to see her ID and immediately took Ms. Zhang away.

In the afternoon of that same day, police officers went to Ms. Zhang's home and searched it. They took away Ms. Zhang's son's personal computer and other items. Currently, Ms. Zhang is being held in the Babaijiong Public Security Station. The reason for her detention was that somebody had tipped off the security agency two years ago that Ms. Zhang practices Falun Gong practice. Before this detention, Ms. Zhang had already been harassed many times by local police officers.

On the morning of July 28, 2005, practitioner Ms Shi Liwen went to visit a fellow practitioner. While she was walking in the hallway inside the apartment building where the fellow practitioner lived, police officers from Babaijiong Public Security Station in Daqing City, who had been lurking nearby to monitor the activities of Falun Gong practitioners, jumped out and took Ms. Shi away. Around noon that same day, the police officers went to Ms. Shi's home and ransacked it.
