Honoring South San Diego County Falun Dafa Week
Whereas, Falun Dafa is an ancient form of qigong, the practice of refining the body and mind through special exercises and meditation, and its practice is simple, yet profound and effective; and
Whereas, the effectiveness of Falun Dafa in improving health and its profound principles have quickly make the practice immensely popular throughout the entire world; and
Whereas, people who practice Falun Dafa come from every imaginable walk of life, as Falun Dafa transcends cultural, social, economic, and national boundaries and the practice has spread largely by word of mouth, as those who learn it usually finds benefits simply too good to keep to themselves; and
Whereas, Falun Dafa emphasizes the cultivation of one's moral character through following the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance; and
Whereas, May 29-June 5, 2004, marks South San Diego County Falun Dafa Week and San Diego County is pleased to join in celebrating this distinct art form that encourages people around the world to improve their health, calm their minds and deepen their understanding of humanity; and
Whereas, San Diego County is committed to honoring and recognizing the community events and are dedicated to the noblest motive of public service, and South San Diego County Falun Dafa Week is one such worthy event; Now Therefore,
Be It Proclaimed, by chairwoman Dianne Jacob and all members of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors that they commend all efforts toward keeping San Diego County residents healthy in body, mind and spirit and do hereby declare the week of May 29 ¨C June 5, 2004 to be "South Sand Diego County Falun Dafa Week" throughout San Diego County.
