Scenes from the 2003 Taiwan Minghui School Winter Camp (Photos)
On February 8 to 9, 2003, the Taiwan Minghui School held a two-day and one-night winter camp.
At 8:30 a.m. on February 8, the winter camp opened at Mingde School in Taipei, Taiwan. The early-arriving children studied the Fa and got to know each other in a classroom. Meanwhile, a photo exhibition was shown in the open area of the school and attracted many people.
From 9:30 a.m.-12:10 p.m. was time for Fa-study and games. The contents of Fa-study were arranged differently according to children's ages. Generally speaking, the Fa-study focused on Zhuan Falun, Hong Yin and Essentials for Further Advancement. During the break, there were games, story-telling, question-answer and signatures collection for rescuing Falun Gong practitioners in Qinghua University in China. During Fa-study, the school was permeated with children's delightful voices; while playing games, the children's joyous laughter could be heard everywhere in the school.
From 11:55 a.m.-12:10 p.m., the staff and children sent forth righteous thoughts together, and the entire school was so quiet and peaceful because the children knew that this mission is very important and sacred!
After that, during lunchtime, every child tried their best to finish their meals, as they learned that they should not waste food.
After a short break, the first class in the afternoon began doing the exercises. As it rained, children sat in the narrow corridor and attentively did the exercises.
Following the afternoon Fa-study, it was sending righteous thoughts at 6:00 p.m. and having dinner. At 7:00 p.m. a party began. Everyone watched videos, including a cartoon "Happy Spring Festival," flash movie "A long-distance phone call" and a short video "Meteor shower." The children watched attentively, and a child said in a questionnaire later that the "Meteor shower" moved him to tears. Another child expressed his thanks to producers for presenting them with such wonderful videos.
After watching videos, a practitioner guided the children to explore the "mysterious microcosmic world in nature." Through magnifying glasses, we know that there exist things at the microscopic level. The practitioner also prepared toys made from things found in nature. The children not only enjoyed themselves with these toys but also formed a concept of protecting environment.
From 8:00 p.m. to 8:55 p.m. the young practitioners gave wonderful performances, including recitals of the flute, vertical flute, Chinese flute and Guzheng, lovely singing and dancing, and recitation of Teacher's new articles. A Swedish practitioner and ten young practitioners also sang a song, "Coming for you."
After 15 minutes of sending forth righteous thoughts, we received a congratulatory message from the Washington DC Minghui School in the U.S. that wished us a great success. After that, some practitioners taught us songs composed by Dafa practitioners. The first day's activity was concluded with these songs.
On February 9, Sunday, we sent forth righteous thoughts at 5:00 a.m., 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Many non-practitioner children also got up and joined in sending righteous thoughts at 5:00 a.m.
After that, we did the exercises on the lawn and had breakfast. Then we took the bus to the Mingde School to start the second day of morning Fa-study. In the afternoon we arranged for the children to go to the Imperial Palace. One group of young practitioners visited the palace, the other group promoted Dafa outside the palace. After 10 minutes of sending forth righteous thoughts, we began to hand out flyers, bookmarks and Dafa truth-clarifying information to visitors. We also collected signatures to rescue Falun Gong practitioners in Qinghua University. No matter what attitude the recipients had, the young practitioners were not affected and continued their Fa-rectification work.
That day the sky was blue and clear, the sun was warmly shining, and our yellow flags that read, "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" danced in the gentle wind, conveying our good wishes to people.
At 5:00 p.m. our two-day and one-night Minghui School Winter Camp successfully concluded. Children left their contact information for each other and hoped to meet again in the Summer Camp.
