An Open Letter to the People and Government of Hong Kong Regarding the Trial of Falun Gong Practitioners
To the people and government of Hong Kong :
We are a group of Falun Gong practitioners and supporters writing to express our deep concern about the current trial of 16 Falun Gong practitioners occurring in Hong Kong, and the repercussions of this trial on the future of democracy in Hong Kong.

AP photo: Hong Kong, Sunday evening, June 30, 2002--- Falun Gong practitioners sitting in lotus position in a candlelight vigil to protest [Jiang's] persecution of their fellows on the Mainland. The protest was held after Chinese President Jiang and Vice Premier Qian arrived in the territory to attend ceremonies commemorating Hong Kong's 1997 return to Chinese rule. Falun Gong practitioners said that more than 90 practitioners who intended to take part in demonstrations were barred from entry into Hong Kong.
