In a January 23, 2002, interview with Archbishop John F. Foley, the chief of the Vatican Pontifical Council for Social Communications, Taiwan president Chen Shui-Bian pointed out that there have been no religious wars in the history of the Republic of China [Taiwan] and that its citizens possess the right of religious freedom. Therefore, Falun Gong in Taiwan is neither a [Jiang's slanderous word omitted] nor a crime.
UK: Harrow Council Passes Motion in Support of Falun Gong
(Clearwisdom.net) The London Borough Council of Harrow passed a motion supporting Falun Gong and has condemned the Chinese government's betrayal of Article 18 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The council wrote to the Friends of Falun Gong Europe saying that the London Borough of Harrow strongly supports Falun Gong. The letter and motion are as follows:
