[Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Policeman Ma Chunsheng Tortured a Falun Dafa Practitioner to Death
Recently, on the 6th floor of the Shijiazhuang Police Bureau Political Security Building, the brigade director, Ma Chunsheng, tortured to death a young Falun Dafa practitioner from Cangzhou city, Hebei province. The barbarity of this case astonished the entire Police Bureau. One old policeman, who declined to tell all that he knew, said, "This is too much to bear!" Many other policemen talked about it secretly. Brigade director Ma also felt the pressure, so he tried to curry favor with upper level leaders in order to cover up his crime. It was said that some major leaders of the Shijiazhuang Police Bureau intended to shield and absolve Ma Chunsheng and his accomplices from this crime.

[Beijing, China] An Engineer from the National Earthquake Department Was Driven To Mental Dullness
Practitioner Hao Ping was a 26-year-old engineer from the National Earthquake Department. On July 2000, he was arrested by policemen from the Wanshou Road Police Sub-station, and transferred to cell 8 of the Haidian District Detention Center. After one month of being inhumanely tortured at the detention center, Hao Ping's once bright mind became dull. Only then did the police from Wanshou Road substation release him. Because his wife had to take care of a two-month-old baby, he was sent back to his hometown, where relatives could look after him. We call on those who know the details to expose this crime.
[XX, Hebei Province] The Power of Falun Dafa
A woman practitioner from Hebei province had been to Beijing to protect Dafa many times. Once she went to Tiananmen Square four times in one week. Each time, she used her righteous mind to pass all tests, and protected Dafa again and again without fear of suffering. Another time, on a hot summer day, she and another practitioner rode their bikes to Beijing. The police stopped them on the road and arrested her companion, but using her righteous mind and wisdom, she escaped. She got away and decided to go to Beijing. The day was hot and she had to walk through fields to avoid the checkpoints set up by the police. When night fell, she was muddy and tired, but she could not enter any villages, since the police or security guards would arrest her immediately. She looked for a place to sleep outside, and to her surprise, she found a small pond with just enough clean water for her to take a bath. Afterwards, she washed her clothes and hung them beside the pond for the next day's journey. She slept soundly beside the pond that night. The next morning, she put on her clothes and once again felt energetic. When she looked around, however, the pond was gone, and her clothes and body were clean! She walked several days to reach Beijing. Along her journey, she found the mysterious pond three times. By the time she approached Beijing, her shoes were completely worn out, and her feet were full of bloody and watery blisters. That evening, she sat beside the road in full lotus position to practice and get ready for entering Beijing the next day.
When three other practitioners walked by and recognized her, they talked for a while and gave her a pair of shoes. Putting them on, she discovered they were exactly her size.
[Fuyang District, Anhui Province] Truth-clarifying Materials Cover all Streets and Lanes
- Over ten practitioners were arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials in Liu'an.
- On March 2nd, Linquan County's Fuyang district had thousands of truth-clarifying materials pasted in its streets and lanes. A few days later, nine practitioners reached Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and unfolded the banner "Falun Dafa is Good" near Jingshuiqiao. Seven were arrested and escorted back to Fuyang for detention. The whereabouts of the other two practitioners are unknown. After that, higher officials criticized the leaders of Linquan and Fuyang, and as a result, the entire police force of Linquan was ordered to to search long distance buses to find practitioners. They used a lot of slandering words and required every passenger to curse Falun Dafa and the Teacher. Anyone refusing to curse would be regarded as a Falun Gong practitioner and arrested. When some passengers questioned why they did this, the policemen answered, "We have no other choice. The higher-ups ordered us to do so." There were about 50 practitioners in the county detention center. Some have been there for 14 months.

[Changchun, Jilin Province] Police Start Mass Arrests and Ransack Houses

We also call on the international media to pay attention to this and help eliminate this wickedness.
[Taian, Shandong Province] Authorities Offer 10,000 Yuan Reward for Arrest of Falun Dafa Practitioners
Recently, authorities in Taian city arrested and detained many Falun Gong practitioners out of fear that they might go to appeal in Beijing during the "Two Meetings" (Meetings of national level people's Representatives by translator). Some of them were sent to a forced "study class." Those who persisted on practicing in the "study class," such as Ma Junting and Yan Lanying, were sent to Wangchun Detention Center for forced "transformation." Some, such as Zhao Chuanfeng, Wang Chuanxiu, and Liu Zhengming, were forced to leave home. Others, such as Li Suping, Zou Guilian, were put on "Wanted Posters" with rewards of 10,000 Yuan (about two years of income of an average worker in China) on their heads.
We also heard that when the traffic police from other nearby cities went to the villages to check vehicle licenses, they forced everyone who wanted to apply for a license to sign a letter renouncing Falun Gong. They also incited the people to inform on practitioners for cash rewards of several hundred Yuan per practitioner. Unable to resist the temptation, a few people began sneaking into practitioners' houses to listen for Falun Gong Exercise Music, so that they might get some of the dirty money.
[Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] The Lanzhou Politics and Law Committee Cannot Shirk Its Responsibility for Persecuting Falun Gong
Lanzhou City authorities have stepped up their persecution of Falun Gong over the last six months, claiming that the number of people from this city who have gone to appeal in the capitol is the second highest in the nation. Accordingly, they organized a so-called "Transformation Training Class" for staff members in charge of persecuting Falun Gong in each work unit. They also established a "Supervisory Group" to inspect the quality of suppression in each work place. It is very common here to see illegal actions that infringe on human rights, such as detaining people for long periods of time. It has become especially bad this year. Before the Spring Festival, in order to coordinate with the new campaign against Falun Gong, each poliin the Xiguoyuan watch house as well. In the second half of last year, Zeng Qinghong's secretary, Zhang Zhiyin, was transferred to the post of vice Party Secretary in Lanzhou City. We believe that he has something to do with the escalation of the suppression in Lanzhou City. Besides, the secretary of Politics and Law Committee, Zhao Shitong and the vice-secretary, Jiao Wei, also have inescapable responsibilities as general directors for the persecution of Dafa practitioners.

Vicious policeman Lu Zhibin, the head of the third regiment of the first department in Lanzhou police station, is a pioneer in persecuting Dafa practitioners. Insidious and malicious, he has devoted himself to the persecution since 1999, and has spared no efforts to suppress practitioners. After Xiao Yanhong and Xi Lilin's illegal labor re-education terms ended, Lu claimed they could not be released until they were transformed. Their jail terms were extended over six months, during which time they endured great tribulations. All labor re-education decisions regarding Dafa practitioners have to go through Lu, so he is a prominent figure in their persecution.

[Beijing] Beijing Police Station Forcibly Takes Samples of Practitioners' Handwriting
The Beijing Police Station forced everyone on their list of practitioners to hand-copy an article about environmental protection so they could check each person's handwriting. The purpose for this is either to find out which practitioners wrote letters to the representatives of the "Two Conferences" (the National People's Congress & the National Political Consultative Conference), or perhaps they have some other conspiracy theories.
[Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Practitioners Are Persecuted in Lingyuan City
The director of the General Assistance Center of Lingyuan city, Tong Cuilian, has been arrested, and it is not known where she has been detained. Deputy director Li Zhanyuan went to Beijing to appeal, and after being arrested, he managed to escape with handcuffs on as he was taken back to Chengde City. His current situation is not known.
At present, there are over 40 practitioners in jail. Seven of them were sentenced to labor re-education, including Ma Yanhua, Du Shiming, Du Guofeng, and Zhao Yachun. They are detained in the Chaoyang City Labor Camp, together with other practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal in 1999. The Lingyuan Police Station is also very vicious. They forced practitioners to tear or step on Teacher's picture after they submitted high amounts of bail. Both kindness and wickedness will be repaid in the end, so we hope the Lingyuan Police Station does not imitate the bad deeds of other cities. In addition, during the "Two Conferences" period, all passengers from Lingyuan on the train bound for Beijing were rounded up and interrogated.

[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] A Partial List of Practitioners Arrested
Wanghua District: Li Jiahong, Wang Juan, and Zhang Yuqian were detained on February 28, 2001 for distributing Dafa materials. They are currently being held at the Subei Criminal Detention Center.
Shengyang Agricultural University: Six practitioners, including Chang Xueqian, Jia Cheling, and Little Lu were detained in December, and presently they are locked up in the Fangjialan Detention Center.
204 District: Sixty-seven year old Sun Xiangyun, former president of the labor union in the Liming Company, and three other people were detained for distributing Dafa materials.
Huishan Livestock farm, Dongling District: Zhang Guiying (female) and Zhou Fenglan (female) went to Beijing to appeal on January 22 and were sentenced to two and a half years of labor re-education. They are now being detained at the Zhangshi detention center. Two men, Chen Zhonglin and Li Hongsheng, went to Beijing to appeal on January 22 and were sentenced to two years of labor re-education. They are now being held at the Zhangshi detention center. Wang Shuxia was sentenced to two years of labor re-education for going to Beijing on January 22. She was detained at the Longshan detention center now. Fifty-year-old female practitioner He Lili is currently being detained in Fangjialan detention center for going to Beijing to appeal on January 22.
Dadong District Scientific Garden Area: Zhao Jiyuan, Li xiujie, Wang Hong, and Chen Jing were arrested on February 27 for no reason. Police said they would figure out an excuse after arresting them.
Dadong District Construction Machinery Factory: Song Libin, female, 28 years old, was arrested at home without just cause. She was sentenced to 1 year of labor re-education in the Longshan Labor Camp. Chen Xiurong, female, was sentenced to 2 years of labor re-education and detained in the Masanjia Labor Camp. Shi Xiumei, female, over 40 years old, was arrested at home and sentenced to 2 years of labor re-education at Masanjia. Li Jinhai, male, was arrested and sentenced to 2 years of labor re-education in the Zhangshi Labor Camp. Gao Guoyuan, male, was sentenced to 2 years of labor re-education in the Zhangshi Labor Camp.
Pottery factory in Dadong District: Chen Zhongrui, male, 31 years old, was arrested by the Yaochang Police Station in November 2000 for distributing Dafa materials. He was sentenced to 2 years of labor re-education and is being detained in the Zhangshi Labor Camp.
Laoguabu, Dadong District: Li Shuying, Zhao Xiuqin and two other people were detained on March 5.
[Taian City, Shandong Province] Plainclothes Police Track Taxi
Recently, I went to Taian for some business. After arriving at my destination, the driver did not dare to stop and told the passengers nervously that there was a police car following us. Until then I hadn't noticed, but there was indeed a police car following us at a certain distance. The driver told us that recently there have been a lot more plainclothes police, and that many of them are hired vagrants. Sometimes they do not drive police cars but drive taxis instead, tracking and shadowing people everywhere. The driver worried that they may arrest him as a Dafa practitioner by mistake. He revealed an expression of disgust because he cannot help.
He didn't drop us off until he made a detour and was certain that the police car was no longer following us. Jiang Zemin and his talons not only persecute Dafa practitioners and interfere with their normal lives, but also seriously interrupt the normal social order and interfere in the life and work of the people.
[Guangan City, Sichuan Province] Dafa Practitioner Is Detained
Fifty-seven year old Dafa practitioner Liu Derun from Guangan city, Sichuan province, was arrested on October 14, 2000 when he posted Dafa materials all the way up to the gate of a police substation. The police illegally detained him for 5 months without the benefit of any legal procedures. Liu is presently being held in Huaying city, Sichuan province, where many local citizens are condemning the brutality and cruelty of the government.
[Anqiu City, Shandong Province] Dafa Practitioners Are Sentenced to Forced Labor
Li Rendong, about 35 years old, is a resident of Jiage town, Anqiu city. He went to Beijing to appeal three times and was detained three times. He was fined 30,000 Yuan (nearly 4000 US Dollars; the average monthly salary of a Chinese urban dweller is 60 USD). He was sent to the Changle labor camp for a three-year-term in July 2000.
Forty-year-old Yang Jinbo is a resident of Jiage town, Anqiu city. After going to Beijing to appeal twice and being detained three times and fined 30 thousand Yuan, he was sentenced to a forced labor camp for three years in July 2000. Six days later, he failed to pass a health examination and was thus released.
Guirong, 42 years old, is a worker at a glass factory in Anqiu city. She went to Beijing to appeal four times, was detained six times, and was locked up several times by the factory. She was forcibly sent to the Jinan labor camp for three years in October 2000.
Yao Hexing, male, about 24 years old, is a former employee of the Jingchun Silk Corporation. He went to Beijing to appeal three times and was detained three times. During his detention in October 1999, he was brutally tortured to such an extent that the epidermis of his right arm became necrotic. He was dismissed by the corporation in August of 2000. At the end of October, he was arrested while exchanging experiences with fellow practitioners in Binzhou and forcibly sent to the Changle labor camp for three years.
Twenty-eight year old Zhao Yonghong was an employee of an Anqiu Department store. She went to Beijing to appeal many times and was thrown in jail many times. The police took her away from her home to forcibly transform her toward the end of October 2000. At the end of November she was sent to the Wangcun labor camp in Zibo city because of her persistence in practicing Dafa.
Wang Peizhi, male, 50 years old, is a resident of Hanjiahou village, Anqiu town, Anqiu city. He went to Beijing to appeal twice, was put under penal detention five times, and was locked up in the "transformation center" at the Anqui office of family planning. The police monitored his house for an extended period of time. Near the end of October 2000, he was detained for distributing materials clarifying the truth of Falun Gong, and a month later was sent to the Changle labor "reeducation" camp for three years.
Dai Zongqiu, about 43 years old, is a resident of Chengbei village, Anqiu city. Since October of 1999, he twice went to Beijing to appeal and was detained twice. On October 25, 2000, he was forcibly taken away from his home to be "transformed" for two months, and then was sent to the Changle labor camp for three years in December.
Forty year old Wei Guoqing is a resident of Linghe town, Anqiu city. He went to Beijing to appeal three times and was detained four times. He was taken away to be forcibly transformed at the end of October, 2000, and was sent to the Changle labor camp for three years at the end of November for persisting in his practice of Dafa.
Lu Hongxin, about 41 years old, is a resident of Linghe town, Anqiu City. He has gone to Beijing to appeal many times since the year 2000. He was arrested for distributing materials clarifying the truth of Falun Gong in November 2000, and was sent to the Changle labor camp for three years in December.

Sun Yefeng, male, about 42 years old, is a resident of Linghe town, Anqiu city. He went to Beijing to appeal three times and was detained many times. He was forcibly taken away from his home on October 25, 2000 and held for one month. After he went on a hunger strike for 30 days, he was released back home. Several days later, he was arrested again and sent to the Changle labor camp for three years, leaving his two underage children at home with nobody taking care of them.
Sun Yezhi, male, over 30 years old, is a resident of Linghe town, Anqiu city. He went to Beijing to appeal many times and was detained many times. After being forcibly taken away from his home in November 2000, he was sent to the Changle labor camp for three years.
Su Xiaoyou, male, 59 years old, is a resident of Xingshan village, Wangjiazhuangzi town, Anqiu city. He went to Beijing to appeal twice, and was put under penal detention and locked up several times. The police ransacked his house several times. One time, 7 Party members, led by the secretary of the village, confiscated all his deposit certificates, cash, motorcycle, and farming tools. Another time they stole 26 Yuan from his house. He was sent to the Changle labor camp for three years in November 2000.
Su Baoyun, female, about 26 years old (Su Xiaoyou's daughter), is a resident of Zhaoge town, Anqiu city. She went to Beijing to appeal three times, and was put under penal detention and locked up several times. The town government brutally and inhumanely tortured her. At the end of October 2000, she was taken away to be forcibly transformed, and was sent to the Jinan labor camp after going on a hunger strike for 20 days. The Jinan labor camp refused to accept her so she was sent to the Wangchun labor camp in Zibo city, which also refused to accept her. Two days later she was released back home. She was arrested once again and sent to the Jinan labor camp for three years.
Yang Chunfan is a resident of Wangjiazhuangzi town. He was forcibly taken away from his home in November 2000 and sent to Changle labor camp for three years.
Zhang Xi, near 60 years old, is a resident of Yijia village, Huangqibao town. He was forcibly taken away from his home in November 2000 and sent to Changle labor camp for three years.
Thirty-eight year old Xu Jingping is an employee of the finance bureau of Anqiu city. He went to Beijing to appeal in October 1999 and was later detained for one month. After he was arrested in June 2000 for appealing, he was shackled and thrown into detention for one month. In August 2000, he was arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials in Zhucheng, where he suffered such tortures as the "Tiger Bench", rubber-stick beatings, electric shocks, etc. He was arrested again for going to a fellow practitioner's home to exchange experiences in November 2000, and was sent to the Wangcun labor camp in Zibo city for three years. He was transferred to the Changle labor camp later.
Zhang Yuelan, 63 years old, is an employee of a hospital in Nanliu town. She went to Beijing to appeal twice in the year 2000, and was detained for two months. She was arrested and detained for distributing truth-clarifying materials on October 27, 2000.
Li Xiuzhen, female, 40 years old, is a kindergarten teacher in Hongshagou town. She went to Beijing to appeal in December 1999 and was detained for one month. In the year 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal twice and her house was searched three times by the police. Forced to leave her home and wander the streets in April of 2000, she was then arrested and detained for distributing truth-clarifying materials on October 27. After she went on a hunger strike for 17 days, she was sent to the Jinan female labor camp but was rejected. Afterwards, she was sent to the Wangcun labor camp in Zibo city and was rejected again for not passing the physical examination. She was then sent back to the detention center of Anqiu city where she went on a hunger strike for 3 days before being released. After her release, the police substation and her school dispatched many people to monitor her at home, 24 hours a day. Three days later, the police forcibly broke her windows, took her away, and sent her to the Jinan female labor camp. Three days later, she failed to pass the physical examination and was sent back. Presently she has been forced to leave her home, leaving her 13-year-old daughter alone with nobody taking care of her.
Du Tiening, 33 years old, is an undergraduate student at a university. Du went to Beijing to uphold Dafa in December 1999 and was taken back by police and put in detention for one month. Later, Du was detained twice and his house was searched three times. Du was forced to leave home and wander the streets in July 2000. On January 23, 2001, at midnight, numerous police from Anqiu city climbed the wall and broke open the door, forcibly taking Du from his home. After going on a hunger strike for over 20 days, Du was sent to Changle labor camp, where he was rejected for not passing the physical examination. Afterwards, Du was forcibly sent to the people's hospital of Anqiu city, where the dean's assistant, Gao Lijin, personally force-fed and transfused him according to Gao's own prescription. Because Du was not cooperating with the evil forces, he was handcuffed and shackled. After the evil forces extorted some money from his family, they sent Du, who had been on a hunger strike for over 30 days, to a labor camp for three years.
Liu Meili, 34 years old, is a resident of Nanwanggao village, Nanliu town, Anqiu city. She went to Beijing to appeal three times in 1999 and was returned home by police. Later, she was detained at the police substation of Nanliu town. She went to Beijing to appeal once again in January 2000, and her house was searched. She was sentenced to a labor camp for three years and is currently detained at the Jinan female labor camp.
Thirty-year-old Lang Xiulian is a resident of Songjia village, Nanliu town, Anqiu city. She went to Beijing to appeal in 2000 and was returned home by the police, who also searched her house. She was sentenced to the Jinan female labor camp for three years.
