Helping My Students by Cultivating Myself Well

(Minghui.org) I did not have stable employment after being forced out of my teaching job in 2001, but I have never stopped doing the three things as a Falun Dafa practitioner. I sent forth righteous thoughts at midnight and got up at 3:40am to do the exercises. I always felt energetic on the days I did the exercises despite only having had a few hours of sleep. I would feel sleepy early at night if I was busy and missed the exercises.

Master Helped Me Get a Teaching Job

On January 3, 2019, I celebrated the New Year with a fellow practitioner and told him about my job hunting. This practitioner suggested that I was better off working in education due to my physique. He offered to provide financial aid if I wanted to run a kindergarten. Starting a kindergarten was not my cup of tea because I was not good at managing things. I thought I could do well teaching at a private school, however. So when I got home, I started to familiarize myself with various teaching methods and materials.

On January 8, an acquaintance asked me if I wanted a job teaching. I said that I wasn’t very proficient at job interviews, but I was a good teacher. He suggested I contact a teacher that he knew. A few days later I called the school, and it happened that one of the teachers had suddenly resigned and the school was in urgent need of another teacher.

The principal asked me about my education and invited me to do a lecturing trial. I felt stressed because I only had one year of teaching experience in the past 20 years. The principal stated that the quality of undergraduates of my time was better than the quality of graduates today. I received a topic and asked to give a ten minute lecture. I was hired four days later. I knew that Master Li arranged all of this for me.

I was assigned to a sophomore class, and the students were already preparing for their final year. I had to learn all the textbooks and systematize the content in a short time. This was an extreme challenge for me. However, Master unlocked my photographic memory potential. Coupled with my diligent work, I was soon able to handle the job.

Teaching Students With the Principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance

I strove to improve myself according to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The students in my class were struggling with grades. Two of the students, a boy and a girl, talked a lot during class. I tried to stop this behavior several times, but failed. As a consequence I asked them to stand up in class. The boy did, but the girl refused and yelled at me. The classroom instantly became so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. All the other students stared at me. This girl’s response caught me off guard. I calmed myself down and continued the lesson.

After class, I learned that this girl would get angry whenever she was in a bad mood. She argued with all her teachers, and once even brought a chemistry teacher to tears. Many teachers thus let her do as she pleased. This incident made me realize that many students may be lacking in opportunities for moral development. I carefully selected many stories that included divinely inspired culture and put them on the multimedia screen before class. I had the students read the stories aloud.

Not long after, I was transferred to teach senior students. Six months later, I ran into this girl. She grabbed my hand and said that she missed me very much. She asked me if I would come back to teach them again!

In teaching my lessons, I incorporated traditional culture, dispelled atheism, and exposed Chinese Communist Party (CCP) deceptions. On environmental protection issues, I prompted students to evaluate the immense suffering that the CCP has brought to the Chinese people. When it came to Chinese culture, I listed several dynasties including the communist party and asked them if each dynasty really represented China. This question would help students understand that the CCP is not synonymous with China.

When discussing the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, I explained the concept of harmony between humanity and nature. In greenhouse effects, I mentioned the causes of global energy imbalance. When I asked about secrets to survival from natural and man-made disasters, some students shouted, “Sincerely reciting ‘Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good’.”

The Dafa principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance guided me in my relationships with students and colleagues, and they could feel my kindness. One boy said that the girls in his class thought I was a fairy that had come down from heaven. A young female teacher said to me, “Your face radiates compassion and peace. We all like just being around you.”

Practicing Dafa made me look younger. Once, a group of female teachers chatted behind me, “She really does not look like a person in her fifties. I always thought that her child was just in elementary school.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the class was held online, and some regular art students joined my class. When the students returned to school, the city gave a unified test and those regular art students who attended my online class did well. One student even improved his score from 61 to 81. Since I had less time with these students, in the eyes of the leaders, the credit and bonus went to the original arts teachers. I had no problem or resentment with this decision.

I was popular, and students could find my office easily. After class, one student often came to me with difficult questions that were beyond the requirement for an art student. Later, several students whom I did not teach also approached to me for free tutoring.

I joined our family reunion at my hometown during summer vacation. My relatives praised me for my teaching successes because I had not taught for years. I said that Dafa has opened up my wisdom. My father exclaimed, “Falun Dafa is truly good!”

I resigned from my teaching job in 2024. The principal said, “Your performance has been outstanding. Why did you quit? It is such a waste that a good teacher like you will no longer teach.”

Students Understood the Truth and Received Blessings

In my years of teaching, some students understood the facts about Falun Dafa and have experienced remarkable changes in their academic performances.A friend’s daughter Tian Tian was exceptionally talented in the arts. She had already passed her art exam. Her teacher suggested that she improve in geography so that she could increase her chances of getting into her ideal university. In March 2024, she asked me to be her tutor.

I reviewed some topics with her that might appear on the mock test. I also let her try to answer some specific questions. She had only two sessions with me and scored the second best in geography in her class. Seeing her rapid improvement, several of her classmates asked me to be their tutor as well.

Tian Tian was aware that I was a Dafa practitioner. She also knew the goodness of Falun Dafa. Blessed by Dafa, she passed the college entrance examination and was admitted to her desired university.

Because of my good reputation for helping students improve grades quickly, art student Tiancheng came to me for tutoring in early April. He did extremely well in art exams, but poorly in academic subjects. He looked sallow due to the pressure of the college entrance examination. He was very weak in basic geographical knowledge and logical thinking.

I helped him improve his fundamentals and logical thinking skills. I told him the facts about Falun Dafa and asked him to search for a naturally formed “stone with hidden words” online. He found it with six words, “The Chinese Communist Party Will Perish”. I explained to him that the messages on the stone were left by Heaven 270 million years ago. Because of the persecution of Dafa and live organ harvesting, the destruction of the CCP is inevitable and its members will bear liability for its heinous crimes.

For a brighter future, more than 400 million people have withdrawn from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. After quitting the Youth League and Young Pioneers, Tiancheng grasped the basic knowledge very quickly. His logical thinking became more coherent. His face looked healthy. He sincerely recited “Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I told him that he has indeed benefited from Dafa.

Tiancheng did exceptionally well on the college entrance examination, scoring more than 50 points higher than his usual test results. He would be admitted to one of the top eight art colleges of his dreams. At his celebration party, I told Tiancheng’s mother about Dafa. I said, “It was our Master who opened your son’s wisdom, allowing him to succeed in his studies and prepare for college. If you want to thank me, please thank Master Li instead.”
