Florida: Mayor of Wilton Manors Designates February Shen Yun Performing Arts Month

(Minghui.org) To welcome Shen Yun which is scheduled to perform on February 17 and 18, 2026, Mayor Scott Newton of Wilton Manors, Florida issued a proclamation on February 5, 2026, designating February Shen Yun Performing Arts Month in the city.

The Proclamation reads,

“WHEREAS, Shen Yun Performing Arts is an internationally renowned classical Chinese dance and music company dedicated to reviving and sharing the rich cultural heritage of ancient China through the performing arts; and

“WHEREAS, for thousands of years, traditional Chinese civilization – shaped by Buddhist and Taoist philosophies – produced profound artistic achievements in dance, music literature, architecture, and other cultural expressions that continue to inspire audiences worldwide; and

“WHEREAS, founded in New York in 2006, Shen Yun Performing Arts has grown into a global cultural phenomenon, touring approximately 180 cities annually and reaching more than one million audience members each year with performances that celebrate history, virtue, and artistic excellence; and

“WHEREAS, Shen Yun’s performances feature classical Chinese dance, live orchestral music, and storytelling inspired by historical legends, regional traditions, and philosophical teachings, offering audiences a meaningful opportunity to experience and appreciate traditional Chinese culture; and

“WHEREAS; Shen Yun Performing Arts will return to South Florida in February 2026, providing residents and visitors the opportunity to experience a world-class cultural event that promotes artistic expression, cultural understanding, and the universal values of beauty, integrity, and resilience; and

“WHEREAS, the presentation of diverse cultural traditions through the performing arts enriches the cultural life of the community and reflects a commitment to fostering appreciation for global heritage in a free and open society;

“NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE CITY OF WILTON MANORS that the month of February 2026 be designated as:

“SHEN YUN PERFORMING ARTS MONTH”

“in the city of Wilton Manors, Florida. We ask that our citizens recognize and appreciate the contributions of Shen Yun Performing Arts in celebrating traditional culture through the arts.”
