Stockholm: Practitioners Introduce Falun Dafa During the Holiday Season

(Minghui.org) Christmas and New Year’s Day are the most celebrated and important holidays of the year in Sweden. Festivities fill the downtown area of Stockholm from the start of December through New Year’s Day.

The historic traditional Christmas market and holiday decorations illuminate the winter darkness, filling the entire city with a romantic and festive atmosphere, and attracting tourists from all over the world to experience Nordic charm.

Falun Dafa practitioners held events in Mynttorget near the Royal Palace (Kungliga Slottet) and next to the famous Stockholm Concert Hall every Friday and Saturday afternoon during December 2025. They demonstrated the Falun Dafa exercises and collected signatures on a petition calling to end the persecution of practitioners in China.

Practitioners told people about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of practitioners in China and helped people learn about the transnational repression campaign that the CCP has used to export its persecution overseas.

In Mynttorget in December 2025, practitioners introduced Falun Dafa and collected signatures on a petition that called for an end to the persecution in China.

A prominent banner that read “Stop the Persecution of Falun Dafa” drew people’s attention. Despite the cold wind, practitioners demonstrated the exercises accompanied by the exercise music.

Practitioners introduced Falun Dafa to passersby and raised awareness of the CCP’s persecution. People signed the petition and expressed support for their efforts to end the persecution. Many people expressed interest in learning the practice, and some started to learn the exercises.

The CCP began persecuting Falun Dafa in 1999, 27 years ago.

Johan, a practitioner and the organizer of the event, said the long-term commitment to raise awareness of the persecution to all sectors of Swedish society is not only a voice in countering the persecution in a peaceful way and a plea for justice and conscience, it also demonstrates the courage and perseverance of those who believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and try to be better people, as they counter the persecution peacefully and rationally.

Johan called on the international community and people from all walks of life to continue to pay attention to Falun Dafa, so that more people can learn about what is happening in China and work together to stop the persecution.

Three Couples Respond to Practitioners’ Activities

A middle-aged couple from Poland chatted with a practitioner after reading all the information on the display boards. “Because we have experienced it, we Poles know very well that communism is the most evil thing,” the wife said. “We understand your current situation. Thank you for so much information. I will share it on my social media.”

Her husband added, “The moral climate today is terrible, especially the corruption of some international organizations and politicians. It’s enough to make one lose all hope. But today we see that there is still hope and that we cannot give up. We support you!”

They said that what practitioners have been doing to raise awareness of the persecution has moved the world.

A middle-aged couple from Marseille, France, lingered at the event for a long time. They learned about the CCP’s persecution of practitioners in China and its systematic transnational suppression targeting Shen Yun Performing Arts in the United States. They signed the petition right away and condemned the CCP’s atrocities.

The wife said, “I’ve heard about Shen Yun, but I have not had a chance to see it yet. I really love traditional culture and ancient Chinese legends and stories. I even studied Chinese for four months! This time I will definitely make time to go see Shen Yun.” Her husband took photos and videos, saying that he would help spread the truth.

A young couple from Malaysia were amazed by the serene atmosphere at the event. They said that they are Christians and have known about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Dafa and the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting for a long time.

“Actually, what people say never counts. The will of Heaven cannot be defied. Heaven sees everything,” the husband said. “We are willing to help you spread the facts and hope more people will come to learn the truth and work together to stop the persecution.”

People in Sweden Support Falun Dafa

Practitioners held events next to the famous Stockholm Concert Hall on Friday and Saturday afternoons for the first two weeks in December 2025.

The event attracted passersby who stopped to talk to practitioners to learn more and sign the petition calling for an end to the persecution. They thanked practitioners for their efforts and expressed their support. Many people were interested in the practice and asked for details about local practice sites, saying they wanted to learn it.

Next to the famous Stockholm Concert Hall, practitioners talked about the persecution to many people who then signed the petition.

A mother and daughter spent a long time reading the display boards and were stunned to learn about the forced organ harvesting. They both signed the petition. The mother said that she was from the former Soviet Union but had lived in Sweden for over 30 years. She thought practitioners were doing a very good job.

“I know all too well the suffering people endure when a government controls the country by censoring the news, monopolizing information, and deceiving its people,” she said. “Thank you for letting people in free societies know about the plight of human rights in China under the CCP’s rule.”

When talking about practitioners’ faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she said, “[Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance] is excellent! I know the CCP has destroyed a lot of traditional culture, but the traditional values of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance reside deep within people’s hearts and are indestructible. I sign the petition to support you and I will also help you spread the word.”

A woman from Westeros (Västerås), Sweden, visiting family and friends in Stockholm learned the facts and signed the petition right away. She said she was amazed at such serenity surrounding their event and said it felt very unique. She accepted a Falun Dafa brochure and some information materials, saying that she was interested in the practice and wanted to learn more about it.

She was happy to learn that there was a practice site in Westeros that offers free exercise instruction. She thanked practitioners repeatedly and said, “This is wonderful! I will definitely go to the practice site to learn Falun Dafa.”
