Treating Police Officers with Compassion

(Minghui.org) The following are two stories I would like to share of how I avoided being arrested and was able to return home safely.

A Surprise Police Visit

I was home printing copies of Minghui Weekly that we often hand out to help clarify the truth. The printer kept failing, so I looked inward to see what I was doing wrong. Suddenly, I heard the gate to the street open. Since only fellow practitioners usually come to my house, the gate is never locked. This time, group of policemen came in.

I calmly walked out of the east room into the yard to greet them. “What brings you here?” I asked.

The leader of the group said, “Let’s go inside and talk.”

“This room is a mess,” I said. “Let’s go to the west room.” I welcomed them, served them all something to drink, and showed no fear, hatred, or resentment.

One of them said, “You’re so kind. When we visit other people’s homes, they all hate us.”

The leader said that they were from the police station, public security bureau, and Political and Legal Affairs Committee. At that time, one of the officers went out and headed east. I wasn’t nervous.

They asked me my age, so I told them I was 73. The leader then said, “Do you know we’re here to arrest you? Don’t hand out those little booklets anymore [referring to our truth-clarification materials].”

I then explained the truth about Falun Dafa to them and added, “You are forced to do these bad things, and I know it has not been easy for you. You must do good deeds.”
As I got up and walked out, I said, “I didn’t escort that other officer to the gate when he left. That was impolite of me.”

One of them responded, “He was watching for our car to avoid blocking the way.” They followed me out and left, and an unexpected tribulation was averted. Thanks to Master for protecting me!

A Police Interrogation

Several years ago, I was at home printing and assembling Dafa-information calendars. A fellow practitioner came to tell me that several practitioners who had gone out with me to clarify the truth had been arrested. A few of them were in our Fa-study group, and another had gotten several calendars from me just a few days prior. She was a newer practitioner and her house was ransacked. The situation was urgent, and the atmosphere was very tense.

I did not have fear and kept doing what I was doing. I thought, “With Master’s protection, I’m not afraid.” With the help and cooperation of fellow practitioners, we made about a thousand calendars.

After I finished distributing the calendars, the police arrested me and took me to the police station, saying that someone had said I was making Dafa informational materials and calendars at home.

The interrogating officer asked, “Have you ever made any Falun Gong materials?”

I didn’t answer.

“Just say you did before, but you don’t anymore. Then you will be fine,” he urged me. When I told him I had nothing to “confess,” he said, “Then I can’t finish my assignment.”

I said, “It would be a forced confession. I’m doing this for your own sake.”

When he later reported to the station chief what they found in my house, he said, “Only a few New Year’s pictures and a calendar.”

“You can let her go then,” said the chief.

Master helped me resolve another tribulation.

Having cultivated for so many years, I truly feel that Master has always been by my side, watching over and protecting me. Whenever I encounter any difficulties, I only need to ask Master for help, and it is immediately resolved. I am fortunate to have obtained Dafa and I am grateful to have our benevolent Master.
