(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in the Netherlands held an information day event at Almere, a city close to Amsterdam, on Saturday, August 2, 2025. They were well received by the local people.
Falun Dafa practitioners set up display boards and a petition table, demonstrated the exercises, distributed flyers, and collected signatures at Schutterstraat in Almere. Many people learned about Falun Dafa and signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution of the spiritual practice in China.
A pedestrian said, “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are principles that everyone should abide by. If everyone follows the principles from the bottom of their hearts, the whole society will become more peaceful.”

IT Expert Condemns CCP’s Persecution of Religious Freedom
IT expert Gavin Zijlstra hopes the Chinese regime will stop persecuting Falun Dafa
Gavin Zijlstra is an IT expert who is interested in both Buddhist and Taoist practices. He said he practiced Taichi when he was in Germany and could feel energy when he was practicing it.
He watched the practitioners demonstrating the second set of exercises, Falun Standing Stance, and said he was impressed.
After learning about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong, he said, “Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are very good principles. We are very lucky to live in the Netherlands where we enjoy religious freedom. I know that in China the Tibetans and Uyghurs are being persecuted. I hope that the Chinese government can stop the persecution of religious freedom!”

Wim Mariens worked in finance before his retirement. He and his wife talked to a practitioner and signed the petition to show their support for Falun Dafa practitioners’ efforts to end to the persecution.
“In this world, people should respect one another and not be tortured because of their religious beliefs. Those who perpetrate torture are committing a crime and should be held accountable and be punished,” Mr. Mariens said. “I hope that the world becomes a better place, so I signed.”

Mr. Majar and his wife operate a shop. They praised Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and said that these are values beneficial to everyone. Mr. Majar also said, “Communism is dictatorship and manipulation.”

Ms. Debby is a meditation instructor. She said that meditation can help one relax and find one’s true self.

“Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance are principles that everyone should abide by. If everyone can follow these principles from the bottom of their hearts, this will help the society become more peaceful. The Chinese government should really take a good look at these traditional principles and allow people to practice them freely,” Ms. Debby said.
Ms. Debby signed the petition and said. “I signed to support you all; such a wonderful belief and cultivation should not be prohibited; [the CCP’s] forced organ harvesting must be stopped. This is inhumane!”
People sign the petition calling to end the persecution.
Almere is the second largest city in the province of Flevoland, and the newest city in the Netherlands, with a population of approximately 230,000 people.
