Commissioner for Human Rights: The CCP’s Persecution of Practitioners Is Completely Unacceptable

Klára Laurenčíková, Czech Government Commissioner for Human Rights

Klára Laurenčíková sent a message of support to Falun Gong practitioners. The letter reads:

“Today we commemorate 26 years since the beginning of the brutal persecution of people who chose to live by the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. These individuals became the targets of one of the most severe crackdowns on belief in the modern world. Not only they themselves, but also their loved ones and all those who dared to support them have become victims.

“Allow me to express my support and respect to you on this anniversary, even from afar. To persecute someone simply for pursuing spiritual development and striving to live decently and in accordance with universal values is completely unacceptable.

“Today’s gathering is a gesture of solidarity with the victims of communist repression. It is also a reminder that we must not remain silent in the face of injustice. Freedom of belief and conscience is a fundamental human right, and no regime has the right to suppress human dignity.”

Ms. Laurenčíková also thanked practitioners for their courage in confronting this injustice and for their determination to stand firm.

“Allow us to greet you from the Czech Senate and offer our support so that you may live in accordance with your faith and your convictions.

“The soul and mind of every individual are their greatest possessions. Anyone who seeks to manipulate them acts against humanity, against what it means to be human. And those who try to do so—in your case—are, in fact, afraid of you. They fear you.

“Therefore, be assured that what you believe in—your inner wealth—is a legacy not only for yourselves, but for all people around the world.”

Silvia Doušová, Member of the Czech Parliament

Silvia Doušová, MP, wrote in her letter, “Today we commemorate 26 years since the onset of the intense persecution of people who chose to live by the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. These individuals have become the targets of one of the harshest suppressors of belief in today’s world. Not only they, but also their [families] and all those who dared to support them, have suffered the consequences.

“Please allow me to offer you my support and respect, even from afar, on this solemn anniversary. To persecute someone simply because they pursue spiritual growth and strive to live a decent life guided by universal values is entirely unacceptable.”

“I thank you for your courage and determination.”

Former Minister of Culture: “May the Suffering of Practitioners in China Come to an End”

Daniel Herman, former Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic and Honorary Consul of the Principality of Liechtenstein in the Czech Republic

Daniel Herman, former Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic and Honorary Consul of the Principality of Liechtenstein, has been a long-standing supporter of Falun Dafa. He expressed his support for practitioners on many occasions, both during his time in office and beyond. In his letter, he wrote:

“Persecution, humiliation, lives destroyed, torture until death—this is the fate of thousands of prisoners of conscience in certain countries around the world. For more than a quarter of a century, such a reality has been the daily existence of Falun Dafa practitioners in mainland China, a country ruled by communists for over seventy years. In their case, there is the added atrocity of the abhorrent crime of organ trafficking—harvesting the organs of those whose only ‘crime’ was to seek spiritual cultivation and uplift their lives and society as a whole.

“These are people who send forth righteous thoughts to the Divine in order to counterbalance injustice in their homeland. The same applies to persecuted Christians and members of other religious or ethnic minorities, who have been robbed of their human rights for decades in China.

“May their suffering come to an end, and may their jailers and executioners come to recognize the grave error of the inhumane ideologies they serve.”

Human Rights Advocate: “Your Courage and Determination Are an Inspiration to Us All”

Kateřina Bursíková Jacques, representative of the Czechs for Tibet

Human rights advocate Kateřina Bursíková Jacques wrote:

“Thank you for your presence and support. Your participation demonstrates our shared solidarity with the people in China who practice Falun Gong and are being inhumanely oppressed by the Chinese regime.

“You gather symbolically at the Memorial to the Victims of Communism in Prague to light a candle within your hearts. Its light will guide you on the path to freedom. You will not be intimidated, because we believe that evil will always be defeated. Together, we can bring change and hope to those who suffer.

“Your courage and determination are an inspiration to us all. Together, we can create a world where human rights and dignity are always protected.”

Theologian: “Freedom and Truth Will Ultimately Prevail”

Marek Vácha, Czech Theologian

Renowned Czech theologian Marek Vácha wrote:

“With hope that, just as many nations have triumphantly fought for and won their freedom, so too will China one day prevail in its own time. I wish to support today’s gathering marking the grim anniversary of the persecution of Falun Gong. Freedom and truth will ultimately prevail.”

Mayor: “Human Rights Are Inviolable”

Jan Čižinský, Mayor of Prague 7 District

Jan Čižinský, Mayor of Prague’s 7th District, sent a message of support to the Falun Gong Association of the Czech Republic. He wrote:

“This Friday, I will be with you in spirit. Human rights are inviolable, and every person, anywhere in the world, is entitled to the same rights as anyone else. We must not turn a blind eye to the human rights violations taking place in China.

“Respect for human rights is a sign of strength. Violating them is a sign of weakness. Any regime that violates human rights forfeits its legitimacy.”
