(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Spain held events in front of the Chinese Embassy in Madrid and the Chinese Consulate in Barcelona on July 18, 2025, to mark 26 years of peacefully protesting the persecution in China. They called for an immediate end to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) brutal suppression of this peaceful mind-body cultivation practice.

After learning about the persecution, many people signed a petition calling for the brutalities to end.
Practitioners stood quietly, holding banners and signs in front of the Chinese Embassy in Madrid and the Consulate in Barcelona. Information on the display boards and flyers told the public about the CCP’s human rights abuses, violation of freedom of belief, as well as the imprisonment, torture, forced organ harvesting, and other brutal acts against Falun Gong practitioners.
By demonstrating the calm and soothing Falun Gong exercises, practitioners also shared the peaceful and uplifting nature of the practice with passersby.
Many people stopped to learn more and then signed the petition to condemn the CCP’s brutality. As cars passed by, some slowed down, honked in support, or gave practitioners a thumbs-up as a gesture of encouragement.
Those Behind Forced Organ Harvesting Must Be Prosecuted
Psychologist Ms. Belen Rodríguez condemns the CCP’s forced organ harvesting.
Ms. Belen Rodríguez, a local resident who lives near the Chinese Embassy, told practitioners this wasn’t the first time she’s seen their peaceful protests. “I’ve seen you here many times,” she said. “It’s hard to understand how the CCP could persecute good people who follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance for so many years.
“Forced organ harvesting is not just some regular crime, it’s something no normal human being should ever do. The perpetrators must be brought be justice!”
Ms. Rodríguez signed the petition and took many photos of the practitioners’ displays. She said she planned to share them online to help more people learn about the CCP’s crimes.
A Responsibility We Shouldn’t Ignore
Ms. Iria said she hopes Chinese people can be free to practice their beliefs.
Ms. Iria and her two children passed by the event. After learning about Falun Gong and the persecution, she immediately signed the petition to condemn the CCP and support practitioners. She said, “I hope the CCP is overthrown soon, and that the Chinese people can enjoy freedom of belief!”
Mr. Alejandro Santos also stopped by the peaceful protest in front of the Chinese Embassy. He expressed his strong support, saying, “I truly admire your courage in standing up for freedom of belief and human rights. We must support efforts like this, and the persecution must never be allowed to happen in our country!”
The event was peaceful and lasted three and a half hours, under the protection of the local police. Practitioners took turns reading a petition letter aloud in both Chinese and Spanish. Besides exposing the CCP’s crimes against humanity, the statement also included a sincere message to embassy staff, urging them not to participate in wrongdoing, to respect the universal law of cause and effect, and to choose a moral path for their own future.
As the event came to a close, the police officer in charge thanked practitioners and said, “We’ve handled many demonstrations, but you are the most special and peaceful group we’ve ever seen. Good luck to you!”
