A 69-year-old woman in Changle County, Shandong Province died on June 12, 2025, after suffering years of persecution for her faith in Falun Gong.
Ms. Pang Xinfang was arrested on September 12, 2006, by agents from the Chengle County 610 Office and the Wutu Town Police Station. They gave her two years of forced labor at the Wangcun Labor Camp. She held firm to her faith and was brutally tortured.
The labor camp guards once injected Ms. Pang with unknown drugs, causing her veins to collapse. She became incapacitated in 2007 and needed help with eating and using the restroom.
In 2015, Ms. Pang filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, which resulted in irreparable damage to her and numerous other Falun Gong practitioners. The local authorities kept harassing her upon finding out about her complaint. She lived away from home to avoid being arrested.
For a period of time since September 2017, agents from the Chengle County 610 Office and the Wutu Town Police Station went to Ms. Pang’s home every day to harass her family. She was still doing odd jobs out of town at the time.
The relentless persecution took a toll on Ms. Pang’s health. She fell ill and relied on her family to take care of her daily needs. She died on June 12, 2025.
