The Netherlands: People in Groningen Support Falun Dafa Practitioners’ Efforts to Peacefully Protest the Persecution

(Minghui.org) At their event in Groningen on July 12, 2025, Falun Dafa practitioners set up large display boards, demonstrated the exercises, distributed flyers, and talked with passersby about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. When the practitioners’ display was vandalized by pro-CCP troublemakers, local residents helped them file a report with the police.

Groningen is the capital of the province of Groningen. With a population of over 200,000, it is one of the ten largest cities in the country. It is also a cultural hub and the most important trade center in the north.

Practitioners introduce Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) and tell people about the CCP’s persecution during an event in Groningen on July 12.

The Persecution Is Terrible

A young couple who stopped to read the display boards commended the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and said they thought that the CCP’s 26-year-long persecution was terrible.

The husband, a computer programmer, said, “This is horrible. No one should be persecuted like that. I believe in freedom of religion.” The wife, who works in the field of psychology, added, “That's crazy; the abuse that is happening is crazy!” They both signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution, hoping their signatures will help Falun Gong practitioners who are being persecuted.

The CCP’s Dictatorship Is Evil “Beyond Words”

Frederik Stanek from Germany said he knew something about the CCP’s crimes: “The CCP is now worse than Stalin’s dictatorship in the former Soviet Union and Hitler’s in Germany. Terrible things are happening in China, including the suppression of Falun Gong practitioners and the large-scale government-sanctioned organ trade.”

Frederik Stanek, a student from Germany, said the CCP’s dictatorship is evil beyond words.

“The CCP imprisons and tortures Falun Gong practitioners in China. Many are killed for organs that are sold to those who need organ transplants. The CCP makes lots of money. Its evilness is beyond words,” he said.

Keerthisri Sak, a student majoring in international relations, said that it is cruel and terrible for Falun Gong practitioners to be tortured and persecuted because of their belief. She said, “Everyone has the right to choose their own beliefs and practices, and has the right to live in freedom and peace.”

Keerthisri Sak said the perpetrators should be brought to justice.

She said she was sad for the victims of the forced organ harvesting and that the perpetrators should be brought to justice: “Many people do not know about this, so it’s important to spread this information.”

“My Mom Is a Practitioner”

Azadeh recently moved to the Netherlands with her husband. After she signed the petition, she told practitioners that her mother practices Falun Gong.

Azadeh supports Falun Gong practitioners.

She said, “My mother practices diligently every day. She is physically and mentally healthy. She does not need to see a doctor or take medicine. She also does things to help Chinese Falun Gong practitioners every day. Seeing that my mother has gained health through practicing Falun Gong, I support her wholeheartedly.”

Locals Help Falun Gong Practitioners

Around 3:00 p.m., a group of people walked past a display board, sprayed graffiti on it, and fled. Their act of sabotage disrupting practitioners’ peaceful signature collection activity did not sit well with the people of Groningen. The damaged display board caught the attention of passersby, and more people came to sign the petition.

When some people said that such vandalism violated Dutch law and should be reported to the police, a practitioner called the police. Bystanders with a sense of justice helped Falun Gong practitioners and confirmed to the police what had happened. The police recorded the incident and are tracking down the perpetrators.
