Bulgaria: Public Supports Falun Dafa During Event in Plovdiv

(Minghui.org) Every year on May 24, Bulgarians celebrate the Holy Day of the Bulgarian Alphabet, one of the country’s official holidays. It marks the creation of the first Bulgarian alphabet - the Glagolitic script, by brothers Cyril and Methodius.

Falun Dafa practitioners in Bulgaria held an information event in central Plovdiv on this day. They distributed fliers to tell people about Falun Dafa, and collected signatures on a petition to raise awareness about the persecution that practitioners in China have been subjected to by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and calling for it to end.

Many Bulgarians were shocked to learn that such a positive spiritual practice was being persecuted, and expressed their support for Falun Dafa.

Teenagers Stand Against the CCP’s Persecution

Evgeni and Alberto, both 15, are volunteers at the largest university in Bulgaria, St. Kliment Ohridski.

Fifteen year-olds Evgeni and Alberto were curious about the practitioners’ event and were shocked to learn that in China the CCP arrests practitioners and removes their organs. “This is disgusting and horrible!” they said.

Alberto added, “I can’t explain it, I can’t comprehend it, I’m downright shocked... How can you kill someone so that another can live?” They both signed the petition.

Evgeni and Alberto condemn the CCP’s state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting.

Ivian, Momchil, and Jonathan are 12 years old, and stopped at the information booth to ask what the event was about.

The boys said they understood the importance of holding events like this, and exposing the persecution in China.

One boy told practitioners, “Keep it up and don’t give up!” They took leaflets to take home to their relatives.

The three boys expressed their understanding of the importance of practitioners’ truth-clarification efforts.

Persecution is an Unprecedented Crime

Stephanie said she felt drawn to the event and wanted to find out more. When the practitioner began to talk about the violence against Falun Dafa practitioners, Stephanie interrupted her, exclaiming, “This is absolutely enough for me to sign. It’s unprecedented!”

Stephanie signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution in China.

A couple, Ganka and Emil, who were expecting a baby, listened attentively to the practitioners’ account of the CCP’s crimes against practitioners in China. Emil said, “I want to sign the petition because I am totally against this Party and the evil things it does to innocent people!”

Emil signed the petition to support Falun Dafa.

A group of women, with multiple children, received leaflets. They stopped at the stand and asked for more details. They said they were horrified to hear about the brutal persecution Falun Dafa practitioners have been subjected to for 26 years for following the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
