Falun Gong Practitioners Raise Awareness of Ongoing Persecution During NATO Summit in the Netherlands

(Minghui.org) This year’s NATO summit was held at The Hague in the Netherlands from June 24 to 26. Heads of NATO member countries including US President Donald Trump and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy gathered at the World Forum for the conference. Falun Gong practitioners in the Netherlands held activities at the Vredespaleis (Peace Palace), located 2.8km from the World Forum to call on the world to pay attention to the 26-year-long persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Cars bringing attendees to the summit passed the spot where practitioners held their activities to peacefully protest against the persecution.

Practitioners hung banners with the messages: “Stop Persecuting Falun Gong, Stop the CCP from Organ Harvesting,” “Stop Organ Harvesting and Killing Falun Gong Practitioners At Once!” and, “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance” opposite the Vredespaleis. They did the Falun Gong exercises, handed out fliers to passersby, spoke to people about the benefits of the practice of Falun Gong and exposed the CCP’s brutal crimes, including the forced organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience. People signed the petition to call for an end to the atrocities after learning the facts.

Tourists came to the information table to find out about Falun Gong and signed the petition to call for an end to the persecution.

The Western World Should Pay Attention to the Persecution

Manuel, who is about to graduate from the Maastricht University Faculty of Law, was visiting Vredespaleis with friends. He said the palace is a symbol of justice for the Western World and even the whole world. He signed the petition which opposes the persecution and remarked, “[Falun Gong’s principles of] Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance are excellent values. Everyone should put them into practice in everyday life. These are important principles.”

Manuel, a law student, wished practitioners success in their call to end the persecution.

He continued, “What you are doing here is important, waking the public’s conscience. China is a very closed-off country. It forbids the free flow of information. Exposing this, publicizing the truth covered behind closely-shut doors is extremely important. It helps people understand the real situation behind the propaganda that gives people a false narrative.

“Western society should pay more attention to things that are happening in other parts of the world, and take on more responsibility in upholding justice because we are standing in front of the world. Yet, I often see Western society turn a blind eye to things that are not directly related to them. Therefore, what you are doing here is even more important; you are awakening people’s conscience. I sincerely wish you success in your efforts!”

We Must Stop the CCP from Organ Harvesting

Damian, a tourist from Poland, believes that organ harvesting by the CCP must be stopped.

Damian is a environmentalist from Poland who often travels around the world. After reading the information on the display boards, he told practitioners, “I’ve been to many countries—Japan, Thailand—and I have also been to China. I heard about the organ harvesting. This is a great sin, it must be stopped—stop, stop, stop!”

The Chinese Government Should Support Falun Gong

Hariaum Pherai and his son Ehiaya are against the persecution of Falun Gong.

Hariaum Pherai and his son Ehiaya rode a bicycle past the area where practitioners were holding activities, and stopped to watch them do the exercises. Hariaum said he practiced yoga before and loved the meditation exercise practitioners were doing. He thought it was very spiritual and he said he knows meditating is beneficial to one’s health. When he learned that such a peaceful exercise is prohibited and persecuted in China, he signed the petition to call for an end to the suppression at once. Hariaum said, “I think everyone should practice this. The Chinese government should support this too—why not? That way, they will have healthy citizens.”

He added, “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance are great principles. It is good for humanity, and it helps build good relationships between people and nature.”

A man who said he enjoys meditating said, “The CCP should not force people to donate organs; that is killing people. The principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance are important to the soul and those who live with us. Only by being truthful to our selves and those around us can we have sympathy towards the world. If we are not honest, we cannot be kind to others. Many people have become dangerous in today’s world because they have gone against these values.”
