France: Promoting Falun Dafa at Events in Eastern France

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners from France and Germany held activities in Colmar on May 24 and in Strasbourg on May 25, 2025.

The weather was warm and pleasant. Practitioners of Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) introduced the spiritual practice to tourists and locals, demonstrated the exercises, and gave information to people who wanted to learn more about it. They also talked about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) ongoing persecution.

Practitioners received a lot of encouragement and positive feedback and collected a lot of signatures on a petition to stop the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong, especially the forced organ harvesting. The petition will be handed to representatives at the upcoming G7 Summit.

Strasbourg Information Day

Practitioners held an information day event on the square in front of Strasbourg’s train station, the second largest in the country, on Sunday, May 25. They hung banners and set out display boards with photos and information about the practice of Falun Gong and the CCP’s persecution of the practice in China.

Strasbourg is known as the “Capital of Europe” and is home to several European institutions, including the European Parliament and the European Council.

At the Falun Gong information day event in Strasbourg, people signed a petition to stop the CCP’s persecution of the practice.

Jacques often takes the train between Strasbourg and Paris. He said he was concerned about the increasing instability in the world, and has always admired the Asian community, where people know how to coexist peacefully.

A practitioner told him about Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. After learning about the persecution, Jacques signed the petition.

Léon from Russia also travels frequently and feels lucky to be a “world citizen” in the context of the current conflict in his home country. He said he particularly appreciates China’s traditional culture. During a long conversation about the persecution, Léon initially declined to sign the petition. Even though he knew the dark side of communism in the former Soviet Union’s history, he doubted whether a petition could change the status quo. A practitioner told him that the only certainty was that nothing would change if no action was taken. Léon eventually signed.

Ali, an Algerian, said he was aware of the history of the CCP. “It is a dictatorship that uses force to control all the country’s wealth, leaving the people with nothing,” he said. He signed the petition and was proud to do it.

Laura is a Bolivian who lived in China with her family for 10 years and can speak Chinese. While she was there, she noticed the lack of democracy and that the CCP monitors and controls its people. She condemned the persecution and signed the petition. She thanked practitioners and encouraged them to continue.

Colmar Information Day

A Falun Gong information day event was held in the center of Colmar on May 24. Colmar is the third-largest city in the Alsace region. It has a rich architectural heritage and canals that have earned it the reputation as a “Little Venice.” There are also houses that date back to the Middle Ages.

A young Vietnamese woman who signed the petition said that more people should know about the persecution, especially through social media. She took a photo with a practitioner to draw more attention from netizens. She said she appreciated the principles of Falun Gong and hoped to learn the exercises.

A violinist signed the petition and expressed her appreciation for Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. Also, she hoped to learn Falun Gong.

A Ukrainian who signed the petition said she hoped that the world could be peaceful. She condemned the crimes against humanity the CCP was committing.
